True, I just got a decent pc really cheap a few days ago that 100-150 fps, and Ill never touch my console again.
so are monitors. Once I broke one of my screens in my triple monitor set-up and it felt like I lost an arm. Everything was just so fucking difficult because I was so used to having multiple screens.

me playing Cities: Skylines on a i5 4310u, 8gb DDR3, and
I play Minecraft (yes, judge as you will) with a bunch of friends. After several months of this, I found out that one of my friends was playing the game at 15-25fps with most settings turned fairly low. Appalled, I told them "you don't know what you're missing! Even with a graphically-poor game like Minecraft!". But. They had become accustomed to it; it was all that they knew. In fact, they didn't even realize that their system was performing so poorly until I pointed it out to them.
Moral of the story: people can make do with just about anything, as long as it runs. Of course, it's not as good, and I would never recommend skimping out on a system just because "you can get used to it". But life finds a way!

one thing consoles have going for them is consistency. As a pc gamer with a pretty bad midrange pc i wouldnt mind hitting the same framerate as everyone else, rather than chugging along at 30 whilst other players are hitting 200fps.... not that it matters too much tbh , 30 is fine for most things when youre used to it and its a solid stable 30.

Buy some indie games. There's lots of games that run beautifully on low-end hardware and are (in my opinion) much more fun than most AAA games.
Trine 1 and 2 run very well even on integrated graphics (I played them on an Intel HD 3000) and if you have a friend or sibling to play the game with you really won't regret buying it.

My test results:
2920x + RTX 2060 Super + 64 GB RAM(ddr4 3600) + Minecraft 1.16.4 = 47 fps (despite using all 24threads)

From my experience, since my computer doesn't meet minimum system requirements for new games I can say that they are not accurate. If you play around with config files you can make the game playable and raise fps even if you barely or don't meet minimum requirements.
Just have fun with your pc and files, tinker a little and you'll be surprised. You can always Google if you don't understand something.

In person, yeah, but seeing the difference on this video really depends on whether or not you can use 720p60+ (my laptop can only handle 480p, interesting how my iPhone 4 can use 720p60 just fine XD. That's why it's my side compy.) In person, I can easily see the difference between 60fps and 30fps. 60fps is soooo good in my opinion. It's so buttery smooth.

GreenDev there's virtually no detectable difference post 60 fps. Really the only true benefit to having higher than 60 fps is to match your monitors refresh rate and or have buffer room for sudden fps drops.

Maybe game developers could list 3 tiers of requirements:
-Minimum: bare minimum requirements for the game to run.
-Recommended: requirements to run the game at 1080p60fps with high settings in-game.
-Ultra: requirements to run the game at 4K60+fps/VR with all in-game settings on max/ultra.
there's barely a hardware available for your "ultra". unless it's an old game/game with undemanding graphics
the 1080 ti can run everything on ultra at 4k 60fps fine. Not sure about VR though

It's always fun to run a game on something ridiculous since it's long past that game's time, such as running Bioshock on modern integrated graphics (Vega or UHD or an even nicer iGPU). Everyone hates on Watchdogs but I played through that story twice because I liked it so much.
It was hated because ubisoft downgraded it a lot, and also optimisation was bad. But anyway it was so much fun to hach and mess everything.

For several years, I managed to get by with nothing but Intel integrates graphics, even for slightly newer games. Nearly everything on low settings would run at less than 30 FPS, and I was perfectly ok with it.
Minimum requirements should be equal to the same quality that would be experienced with the same game in a console.
Then fuck you, because each game runs absolutely smooth on consoles, while pc gamers experience unplayable games at 120 fps

I started gaming on a PC with a $450 laptop. It was only able to run the Elder Scrolls V at 20fps (When I was lucky) on the lowest settings, but the game was still playable ( for me at least). It was also able to run The Witcher at about 40fps on medium to low settings. Based on this I purchased older AAA games, newer indie games, or games that weren't graphically intensive.

On PC the cheapest way is to buy used GPU's, as long as they aren't overpriced due to bitcoin mining that is. I use to double - quadruple my GPU power every two years for around $100.

People, just save some money and and switch to console gaming, the minimum requirements won't confuse you and you will be able to use that for a while generation (If you buy it at the beginning of that generation, like if we buy PS5 just after its release) and it costs much much less than all those parts used in a PC build

My old laptop is the reason that I found out that one of my favorite games runs at 144p. Even at 144p it still ran at about 6ish fps, but that's not the point, *It Ran*.

Wanted to run Playdead's Inside with my 1.7 GHz Intel i5 processor from 2010; it needed 2.4 GHz as the minimum. Wouldn't open at all. Other specs were sufficient so I overclocked it at an unstable 2.2 GHz and I was able to get 30 FPS at 720p.

Back when I bought my Oculus rift I had an i7-2600K which worked great! I have an i9-9900K now, but I'm glad I ignored their minimums when I first bought it. Had a blast!

Listen here, I played crysis on a laptop with 2GB ram and 1.8Ghz intel i3. Beat my poverty in PC gaming.
Played Dota 2 on Celeron 430 (1 core, 1.8 GHz) and 3 GB DDR2. Also, tried to play HL2 on MX400 with 1,5 GB DDR, played DMC4 on mentioned Celeron w/ Radeon X1600.
Now that pc has Celeron E3300 (yes, still 775) with GDDR5 GT730 and same 3 GB DDR2. Actually, it was 4 GB. But just for like 15 minutes because then module just melt. Literally. Memory chips melt. That wasn't short circuit - store's warranty center told me that it happened because of overclocking (on Q35 chipset and Gigabyte bios, sure thing). Even while it "worked", it did so in a strange way: "4,00 GB (3,00 GB available)". That mb supported assymetric dual-channel and was in really good condition (except southern bridge. It melt down too because noone cared about it's thermal interface and i wasn't acknowledged enough about that).

It means you can play with 1 FPS. Really unhelpful because I tried to play Counter-Strike on my Pink Acer laptop Windows XP and I couldn't even jump it was so laggy.

mhh very strange.. i am below the min requirments and i still get 40+fps on the lowest settings (1280x1024) and it is a very playable experience

deepak kona for competetive gameing you need at least 80 fps. 60 will be fine to play but not competetive. You will have disadvantage due to the response time. Yeah it sounds weird but there is huge diffrence between 60 100 fps. 200 fps is the best because you dont need more and on 200 fps lag dont even exist and game is so smooth even on 60hz display. I hate in pc gameing when someone with more money will win even with less skill only because you have worse fps, stutter, lower res makeing is harder to see.
Yeah, LowSpecGamer is pretty damn cool. My performance in Skyrim went up drastically, going from 15fps max to 30-45fps. It made a significant difference. ...until I got Windows 10's Creators Update, which forced the framerate to only go to 28fps and lower. I'm on Windows 8.1 now and enjoying the higher framerates in all of my games, even games that my processor lacks the power in like GTA 5 (25fps), Dishonored (30fps) and Life Is Strange (28fps). On Windows 10, those framerates were basically cut in half (not always, sometimes the framerates were only reduced a small amount, usually 5fps less.) Hence why I'll never go back to Windows 10 :p

For performance, I'd say Windows XP. Problem with that one is that it's no longer supported anymore, so it's not really safe to use. Windows 7 is pretty good but for whatever reason, I couldn't seem to use GeForce Experience to install the latest drivers, not to mention support will end for it soon. Windows 8 and 8.1 are pretty much the same in my opinion, 8.1 being superior because of the start button being included. Windows 10 is an absolute nightmare to use if you end up getting the creators update. Framerates were horrible, RAM was almost always at 50% usage, startup times went from 10-20 seconds to 5 minutes no matter what I did, disk usage was always maxed out, and desktop icons' behavior was severely messed up. If you can avoid the creators update and stop the windows 10 spying, it's pretty good actually. Personally, I'd say go with 8.1, but that's just my opinion. I have had problems with updates causing Windows 8.1 to sit at a black screen after updating, and has forced me to use system restore twice to get it working again so if you do use Windows 8/8.1, create a restore point as soon as you have all the programs and games you absolutely need so you can go back to that point if an update fucks you over, especially with Steam games. Be sure all of your Steam games are installed before creating a restore point though. I had a major problem with it deleting my games from the PC (including GTA 5 which took four hours to download. Still haven't reinstalled it yet.) When using system restore, double click on the restore point and it should show you a list of programs that will be uninstalled and make a list of the programs to get back.

I've played Wolfenstein 2 with below min spec machine on medium-high settings and could still get 60FPS, minimum requirements don't mean shit anymore.

I got radeon 7770 paired with phenom 955 and I can play any game on that shit. Just install game and try. If it's kinda bad experience just plug in another radeon 7770 and eureka( some games doesn't work with 2 graphics cards that's why I'm trying to keep only in )

This have been recommended to me today in a day of cyberpunk premiere and what a paradox, cyberpunk recomended setting which are for "high 1080p preset" are actually for low 1080p sometimes 60fps... great work cdp great work :))
