@KurenayVale Apologies for the late response. Perhaps you may wish to check out on how to make your own tassel from some of the tutorials in UA-cam. Thanks for watching :-)
Ideally the proportion for this lantern should be as shown. But if you wish to use the long ang pow packet then you may have to trim it to size. Thank you for watching :-)
Great Job Irene. So simple but it comes out so beautiful. But I don't think I could do it. I can't even fold my clothes neatly. I have to put them on hangers. :(
where does one buy the red envelopes, and tassels, etc to make these items? is there a online mail order source where I can buy the items needed to make the lateren, etc myself? Love the things you make
YES FINALLY! iv been trying to find out how to make these for my photography final exam piece but all i could find was those really easy chinese lantern that little children do
@Amriit11 I brought mine from the handicraft shop. They usually sell these about 1 month before the Lunar New Year. You probably can find these from shops that sell Oriental stuff, like Chinatown. Hope this helps.
@cuddlebugbear @cuddlebugbear So sorry for the delayed response. In Chinese culture, the red envelopes (known as hongbao or ang pow) is a monetary gift given during Lunar New Year, birthday, wedding and special occasions. From where I lived, I can buy the red envelopes and tassels from shops when Lunar New Year is approaching or get the red packets free from banks, shops, private companies, etc... You probably could get these from Asian shops in Chinatown?
@ireneblchua We wish you all the same! My Dad used to have little Chinese Lantern's with little colored Christmas lights inside. I loved seeing them on the tree. They were my favorite! Blessings, Patty
