I don't need a sodbuster. If I did I'd be all over this. It locks and available in carbon and a pocket clip to boot. It's thinness lends itself to pocket carry. Uncomfortable for carving totem poles but great for breaking down cardboard , opening feed bags. and cutting twine. EDC, Every Day Chores!
Enjoy your knife, brother. Mine rides in my shirt pocket next to an ink pen. I love the small pocket clip, It doesn’t impede my usage, the pocket clip ensures that I have the knife with me every day every where I go. Thanks for sharing your videos.
Also I wanted to say is if you got the model C138L it is 1095 carbon steel. If you got the normal 138L model then it is 440 stainless. The C in the part number indicates Carbon steel.
👍 Nice review. I just ordered one based upon this review. I agree a Bear & Son knife for $26.00 is almost a must have. I do like the sod buster style knife.
Sod busters are a favorite of mine. This one I like alot. Hopefully it works for you. Thanks for watching and the support I appriciate it. Safe newvyear to you and family
@@2ndchancegeorge Thank you. Same to you & your family. I’m hopeful that this may be an improved version of the style, I like the idea of anodized aluminum frame. While it looks a little thin it is a pocket knife and will be used for short individual tasks and not a tool one would use continuously for hours. I ordered the yellow version. I plan to lose the pocket clip in the first 3 seconds I have it. For me these clips add to the discomfort and serve no real purpose. In my 66 years of owning folding knives I have never had a problem getting one out of my pocket.
Happy New Year George! It looks like a nice knife. It would be nice if it had liners like older folders. I think that would make it feel better in the hand or maybe if they had made the handles thicker and with some sort of texturing. Enjoyable video as always! Take care!
For a pocket knife used intermittently, I wouldn't think it would be too irritating in my jeans pocket. Handsome thing. Write a letter to the company. You'd be surprised how influential a letter can be. Tell them you like their knife but it needs a thicker handle. Who knows what they'll think. Or do.
The first bear and son I knife ever owned was a small hunting knife about 10 inches long with a straight brass Tang built like a tank I bought it from a guy that sold CB radios and other stuff at truckstops. I paid like $15 for it nice leather sheath and all , was in the early 90s. I wished I had kept it.
I respect your opinion on the knife handle being too thin for your hand, George. But, for a guy that mostly carries an Otter Mercator and a Böker Atlas as a second EDC, I would say that this is my kind of knife. I would live to get my hands on one. Take care.
I hear what you saying my friend. It's a sodbuster and I like them. Just a little to thin for my fat grubbies...lol. I love the black cat. Awesome knife. Be safe out there. Where are you located?
I have known about this company. This one fits my budget as well. Speaking of age and not liking things in my pocket I don’t like things on my belt anymore I need a man purse lol
Nice knife. The sod buster style is one of my favorite patterns. I just picked up the rough ride model RR2347, the denim micarta work knife. Check it out. Well done George !
I got one from Chicago knives works for 12.50 and it's a total steal for that price. I wish it was a slip joint and not a liner lock but on the other hand I don't mind the lock. The faded denim polished micarta looks excellent and if you give it a quick sanding with 60 grit until you feel some fabric starting to expose and then a light buffing with 120g you are left with nice grippy soft micarta. I wish they would release it with their carbon steel blade to so we have the optjon. Again it's a complete BARRGOOON at 12.50 for a well built 8.5 inch overall work knife.
I am a fan of the carbon series. I prefer carbon. Keeping an edge is easier than the SS. I have a couple of thier carbons a like em. A little heavy but solid
They got a nice Barlow and farm hand folder and nice stockman with yellow handles and a American Walnut handle lock back hunting knife they even make a bunch of tactical liner lock knives to but Jacksonville Alabama old buddy lol lol I can understand the confusion about Jacksonville lol lol one is in Florida to but bear and son are from and in Alabama yes
@@2ndchancegeorge hey your the smartest old timer I know o!d buddy and I love ya if you needed me I'd be right there before you know it us old guy's got to stick together bud
This is the best knife you could ever own if you ever wanted to carry a buck 110. it is lightweight and has a pocket clip. A great knife. This guy is to old and talks to much

Happy new year to you. It would make a big difference to add liners. Thanks for watching 👍
Can you add a layer to the scales? Hmm!

Lol. I may just do that. Like you say, you never know they may just reply. Be safe my friend

Lol...funny how you look back and say should have kept that.....do it all the time. Feel your pain. Especially how prices are going up. Stay safe

I like it. Definitely a drop point.
Right. Cannot see it as a clip. Thanks for watching
Would I buy yes I like it . Wound prefer carbon blade but for just over 20 bucks I ain’t complaining. Thanks George take care
If you buy the model C138L that is the 1095 carbon model, if you buy the 138L that is the stainless model.
@@EDCandLace Thanks George I do like that knife 👍

The reason there's a million different knife designs is because not every knife is right for the person buying
