Rarest thing I got on rev was actually on my friends map on xbox was my first diamond moose and was a pie bald so was also my first rare fur type.

Mannn that’s awesome but it sucks at the same time. The reds I swear are even more rare than the whites. It wouldn’t surprise me if the ptarmigans are bugged since on my own map I had a diamond stuck in place until I fast traveled. Still an awesome trophy!

Hahaha I almost did! In my opinion I would count it as a super rare for small game. I shoot a lot of willows, and I have yet to even see a track.
What is the best map for whitetail
you probably already know but for the viewers, if you ever have to do that and wonder what the score will be, if you check your codex in latest harvest it will show you what the score would have been

No such thing as how to get one
I would say your best bet is just to shoot every willow ptarmigan on your map until it spawns or search multiplayer.
I have two red ptarmigan . I thought they are not to rare but now im proud that i have two of them . Greetings from Germany
