      A frog's body weight is made up of 75% water.
      An elephant's body weight is made up of 7.5% water (googled).
      Clare, I believe is right, sort of, given the same l w and h, elephant would be denser.
      Hopefully, the frog's skin is thick enough, or it will burst. Big water bag.
      Sorry guys, it's been a long day, time for a Guinness.

      I have a #3 and #4 for this list.
      #3: Dermot is always a great time. I suspect I could watch him filling out American Healthcare paperwork and be totally entertained.
      #4: (And I feel like I need to preface this by saying I'm a heterosexual dude who doesn't notice these things... that being said...) That was a super cute Peter Pan collar dress Claire was sporting. And if a guy who spends every weekend building and fixing machines like me noticed it, it must be true. But that was literally my first thought watching this. And now that I'm feeling super self emasculated, I'm gonna go work on a tractor and build a miter sled for my tablesaw. Literally.

    A frog's body isn't set up to be that size. It'd not be able to move the way it does when it's small. Elephant would just step on it probably. Also, your hair is amazing here!

    Yours and Alex's drunken arguments are a lot more fun than my parents' ones were. Good to see Dermot and Justine out and about. Oh, and I'm with you on Team Elephant. 🐘 Anyone who's seen a charging elephant knows they're pretty fierce. Even lions don't mess with them unless they're sick or dying, and lions go after prey bigger than them all the time.

    Elephants win for sure. They're less impulsive, have far better memory and Clisare's right with the size weight argument. And frog's tongues are supposed to be 10x softer than humans so an elephant easily rips that in half. Now what, frogggg?! 😁

    For a moment there I forgot you cut your hair as your hair was long in the recent Try video, but dang that's such a good haircut! Love the hair, great outfit to go with it too. And I'm with you, I don't see how a giant frog wins against an elephant, unless we consider it running away to be a win. Elephants are fierce, frogs generally aren't, so unless Alex wants to supersize some killer aggressive strain of frog, I don't see it putting up much of a fight.

    It would truly be interesting, because if they're equal in size, the elephant would still be heavier because of bone-densiry, but the frog would be able to jump on pachyderm. Frogs can also eat things almost twice as big as they are, but if the elephant has tusks, it could jab the croaker good from the inside.

  • @peterwest323
    @peterwest323 Рік тому +1

    In a cage match. I'd go with the elephant, better capacity for heat dissipation, possible tusk action, and more intelligent. Frog could deliver some blows with the tongue but the elephant, like a young Mike Tyson, would quickly get the inside position and do some damage. Plus, frogs don't go after prey its own size now, so I'd imagine a scaled up version wouldn't either.

    I'd say frog has a 90% edge over the elephant. Frog would just need one well placed kick to break the elephants neck. And frogs are be bendy like Gumby to facilitate them splatting on the ground hopping about. Difficult to inflict injuries on a body like that.

  • @matthightower1570

    Elephant would win. A frog's tongue wouldn't be able to match the trunk/tusks combo of the elephant. The frog might be able to hop away, but it would essentially have no offense.

    I'm with Clare on this one. I don't know about the weight thing but elephants are aggressive and territorial when they need to be and do actually fight. Frogs neither have the temperment nor the natural weapons (i.e. tusks) to make a proper fight of it. Sure that tongue would hit like a truck but so would the other elephants that would fight for mating and territory. Frogs are simply too squishy to make it much of a match.

Yes, she deserves all the backside scritches that you can dish out! Dermot and Alex were very funny together, too bad Alex isn't up for the TRY channel as an alcohol taste pairing of Dermot and Alex would be Epic! I like the concept of that bar, but that bar pizza looked terrible...it was floppier than an 80 year old man's junk. Scaled up the frog would have less mass, but it still should retain it's agility and in fighting agility often beats size so I'll go with the frog winning by a strong kick to the elephant's head. I actually think the elephant vs frog fight would be amazing. The frog has the advantage with speed/agility and the elephant does in power. If the frog can keep the elephant at a distance with jabs from its tongue, I could see it taking the win. If the elephant can power through to get inside, the frog is toast. Awesome drunken debate with Alex though.

  • @bierce716
    @bierce716 Рік тому

    Bringing a nerd perspective to the frog/elephant discussion... it runs into the square/cube law. That is, the area, and therefore the structural strength of a bone or pillar or muscle increases by the square of the size increase. Therefore, if something is twice as big, it's four times as strong; three times as big, nine times as strong, etc. BUT... the volume, and therefore the weight of any object increases as the CUBE of the size increase... something twice as big is EIGHT times as heavy; three times as big is TWENTY SEVEN times as heavy, etc. You can see this play out in real life: tiny insects can jump maybe 50 times their body length. (Talking a standing jump here, something on pure strength) a cat maybe 5 times, a human maybe half their body length (try it yourself- no running start, just bend your knees and jump half your body length straight up- some basketball players can do it, but no normal human) horses in a rodeo might get all four feet a foot off the ground, and an elephant can't get all four feet off the ground at the same time without a full run. So an elephant sized frog couldn't jump any better than an elephant. That leaves two other sets of assets: first, the frog's tongue. Couldn't possibly LIFT an elephant- think of the leverage issues- but could maybe count as a powerful punch. But then, the elephant has tusks- wouldn't want to get crossways with those! For me, the deciding factor is the elephant's prehensile trunk. For centuries, loggers have used elephants to carry cut down trees out of the jungle with their trunks... what if one decided to swing said tree like a baseball bat at the frog?

  • @BigIrishLug

    Giant Frog vs. Elephant, who would win? Everybody. Oh, and the entire alcohol industry. How could you watch something like that without getting yourself a drink? Great video!

    If it's a frog with the super poisonous skin, I'd give it to the elephant sized frog. But, if it's a non-poisonous frog & the elephant has tusks, then I'd give it to the elephant -because tusks are great vs. squishy things like froggers. Otherwise, maybe the frog has hit & run attacks that'd kill the elephant -but IRL frogs literally just try to shove their opponent into their mouth and bite or swallow.

    I think the giant frog would swallow the elephant. 🐸 Alex is correct 😂💯
