- Hello all,
A long-awaited and requested demonstration / stitch-with-me on how I stitch Algerian Eyelets on my Chatelaine project Evening In The Park.
I warned you all that I ramble my way through this video in a hope that some of what I show and say makes sense.
Algerian Eyelets and any speciality stitch are much easier when you have space with a clear area that that stitch needs to fit into, this takes all the confusion and guesswork out of how to do the stitch and where to start and stop.

thanks 🇩🇿🇩🇿🇩🇿 good job ❤
You're such a good teacher Teresa. Your office in London must benefit so much from your service to them. Thank you for your unselfish contribution to floss tube. I've learned so much from you.
I LOVE the way you stitch and your tutorials. THANK YOU for doing these. I am 'of a maturing age', and working on my first (ever) cross stitch. I am not of the mind that I have to start at some level and work myself up to those patterns considered 'advanced'. I've recently purchased several - all because I love them, and without thought to complexity so much. I'm self-taught via UA-cam - meaning I'm actually NOT 'self-taught' as I have all of the very BEST teachers. You are at the top of that list. I saw your finished Chatelaine and ordered my own the same day. THANK YOU for all your effort and guidance!
Thankyou for your very kind comments and for watching my videos. I hope you love stitching everything you have bought. Xx
Hello Teresa, hope your still recovering well. Thank you so much for the video of Chatalaine ( im sure I spelled that wrong),lol. You really have an excellent way teaching and it makes perfect sense. You make it feel like its possible for anybody to stitch these....really might have to jump in to the deep end,as they say,and try one. Yours is absolutely Gorgeous!!! As you say, don't over think it people. Keep it simple...and you have shown us how to do just that. Stay safe and enjoy your week and stitching 😊
Wow thank you! You are making it look very easy. Not as scary. 😊⚾️
Wow this makes me want to do this design even more now that it seems manageable ....you should do a series of videos showing how to do all the required specialty stitches...
Phillip's Cross Stitch Therapy yes please! I second that!
That’s a fabulous idea since I got this pattern and kit for my birthday. Seeing her progress on this picture got me interested in attempting it.
Had such a funny moment: I'm stitching and listening to your explanation, you say "that is that center" (21:45), I understand "that is dead santa". I'm still smiling. Thanks for keeping me company while stitching.
lol I had to go back and listen for myself - lol! yep I hear it now that is dead santa lol now you have me chuckling
Hello Teresa, enjoyed watching, very informative, thank you.

Love love love your work. I have this chart and the fabric, but need to save some money to order the thread-pack. Can`t wait to start now after seeing your stitch-with-me videos.
Have fun!
Hello Teresa, what a wonderfully explained video, I will be trying your method of doing the eyelets
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you for doing this, I have always wanted to do a Chatelaine. I have always been to intimidated to do one with how much they can cost. So tempted now, as I love seeing your progress on this beautiful chart ❤️
Thank you so very much! I love this!
You are so welcome!
That's beautiful. U really explained it clearly...
Glad you liked it
@@TeresaLittleStitcher how i wish i can do that too.... lol.. still need more practice and courage.. i'm about to try stitching over 1 at 25ct.. too scared lol..
I'm normally not a chatelain fan but I may have to stitch this one
I enjoyed your video very much. Thank you for showing how to do the eyelet stitch. I'm not as familiar with the specialty stitches. On a completely different note could you please tell me what floss would be a good substitute for dmc black and white? I love dmc, but those two colors are terrible to stitch with. Thank you
Awesome thank you!!!!
Teresa, You make a great tutorial. I will go back and watch more of your videos and continue watching your videos. Love it.
Also, I love your shoes. Can you tell me what brand of shoe you have on during this video? Thank you, thank you, thank you!❤️💜❤️
Hey Candi do you mean my sliders??? I just had my adidas sliders on lol! very comfy
Teresa Little Stitcher it must have been sliders. I only got a quick peek at them. I will have to see if I can find them. I thought they were so cute. Love, love, love your videos.💕
That is such a beautiful project. I am working on first piece with Algerian eyelets. Not too difficult. I haven’t mastered satin stitches yet. The turkey stitch is coming up which I’ve never done and don’t really liked the looks of so may just do cross stitches over that part of the chart
You can do it!
Hello dear, beautiful work, it is a really effective stitch and not so daunting for the beginner. Thank you. Could you please recommend a pair of decent sharp embroidery scissors and pr. of snippers?
I am a lover of Squissers for the snippers here is a link of what they are www.lakesideneedlecraft.co.uk/squissors---flecked-blue-on-red-19851-p.asp and Dovo scissor are a bit expense but very lovely to work with dovoonline.com/copy-of-dovo-hardanger-embroidery-scissors-3-5-in-stainless-steel-german-44350526/
You've totally inspired me to try a full coverage and now you are giving me confidence on doing these eyelets. I have a piece that calls for them so this is great. I had a question about how you are storing your floss for this one. Do you bobinate with silk rather than use Annies or a Pako? Love your channel!
Hey Kay, Thank you for your lovely message and so pleased to hear my video has helped you in some way. The chatelaine threads I ordered from The European Cross stitch company and they send the threads in a lovely pack in little bags on a ring. It looks so lovely and works just as is. Maybe I will show on one of me videos :)
thank you so so much specialty stitches scare me soooooo
Nice pattern. Your almost finished. It won’t be long.
Your stitching is beautiful. Do you use the railroad method for the cross stitches? Love your channel 🇨🇦
Hi Sherri, Thank you for your lovely message. I confess no I do not railroad any of my stitches
Teresa, The fabric you use, what kind is it ? I'm so used using Aida and I'm looking for a fabric I can Transition to..... Thank you. I've been watching you doing this project and I'm always fascinated. Evening in the park is so beautiful... What kind of evenweave you are using and what count, please. Thank you...
I usually use evenweave this one is a lugana 25 count.
Thank you for your response...Have a wonderful time stitching !...
Thanks for the help. Do you always stitch over 1on 25 ct or higher. It's when I have to go over 2 that I get confused.
Both!
Das Muster habe ich mir schon gekauft. Wo kann ich das Stickgarn und die Perlen bestellen? Vielleicht kannst du mir dabei helfen.

Can you link where you got this beauty from please Teresa? 🥰
Hey Todd! The chart is PDF direct from the Chatelaine website chatelaine.de/downloads/ocf-chat-043-myst-viii-evening-in-the-park/ and i purchase the thread pack and beads from The European Cross Stitch Company european-crosstitch-company.myshopify.com/products/evening-in-the-park-chat-043?_pos=1&_sid=6af7db884&_ss=r
Teresa Little Stitcher you star! Thank you so much!
the dove scissors sound just the thing
👍👍👍
Who wants to be perfect? You certainly have the eye for colour. Are Chatelaine kitted up? My horror would be making a mess up of my colour choices. Funny you said here comes the sun - you are not old enough to remember the little reflective bits of "glass" stitched into algerian embroidery
Hey Lynn thank you for your lovely message. Yes the Chatelaine is all pre charted and I always get the full threads pack and beads from The European Cross Stitch Company, saves all the hassle of sourcing all the different threads.
