Every time I see the grocery haul, I think it's not going to last the week, and every time, June proves me wrong and makes a ton of food that looks better than anything I could ever put together.
Recommend roasting your bones (after first boil) on high heat (~450F) in the oven until they are browned. It adds a whole other layer of flavour to the broth (AND the meat) :-)
One of my favorite parts of June's videos is when she shows the animated vegetables and erases them on screen when she uses the products daily. It reminds me of sesame street. Math skills for the win. I love you June, but you lost me at "spleen" 😁👍❤️🌹yes I'm a meat eater people.
In our country, spleen is just a common food, we used to marinade it with tamarind and salt, fry it, eat it with rice and sambal. We also love to make sambal ati kentang, which contain chili, fried diced potato, chili, red onion, and coconut milk.
I'm not sure if we can find spleen in the market (I'm in the PH), but there's always some liver. I wonder if we can use that instead of the spleen? They're both organs, yes, but they're most probably different tastes and textures.
I really appreciate the low carb meals and use of organ meats! I have diabetes and the keto diet has helped me lower my blood sugar to the point where I don’t have to take meds any more. So low carb is REALLY important to me! You are very entertaining. BTW, I eat quite a bit of veggies on keto, but MSG is a real no-no on keto. I vote for more shows about low-carb! ❤️
Very interested about why MSG is banned on keto, several viewers have pointed this out? Is it just because of its bad reputation and not because of any scientific explanations? paleofoundation.com/is-msg-monosodium-glutamate-paleo-or-keto-friendly/
Hey June! Because of you I now treasure every single drop, drip, cut off, leftover or rendered bit, because I always treat it as 'flavour!' and reuse it in further recipes! Excellent way to be smart and frugal with your ingredients. Thank you 💜
I love that the meals aren't prettied up with perfect lighting and camera angles. It looks like real food, and their review of each dish is also honest. It makes me feel better about the creative dishes I have made in the past🤗
June was probably feeling extra fatigued and "cranky" from the "low carb flu," I know I definitely get like that when I go on a low carb diet! (I go on a low-FODMAP diet for a month every so often for IBS reasons)
For those that get upset at you for using your own spices and oil are just silly. The heat thing about a budget is using what you have on hand to flavor what you buy.
I try to watch things with my mum but she finds everyone quite plastic and too perfect for real life and then we found you... I think June might be extra tired this week bc she’s starting to slip into ketosis; it’s one of the most obvious symptoms. Even though she said she wasn’t being super keto, everything she prepared really nicely fell into a keto meal plan. And it looked delicious! That soup 🤤
I love how June is so innovative with odd ingredients and low budgets. That being said, I'm not running to buy heart or spleen anytime soon. She does demonstrate that having a low budget shouldn't deter anyone from healthy interesting food. Am always thrilled every time there's a new June video!
chicken hearts are soooo delicious!! they're a staple in brazilian barbecues - seasoned with a bit of salt, pepper and grated garlic and grilled over high heat in the grill!!
June is truly captivating and definitely the reason I come back. Her passion for cooking is so pure and genuine. I hope she is supported by this channel and is given more opportunities because her creativity is wildly entertaining and enlightening
June, love your creativity and your sardonic sense of humor; I know you were tired during some of the filming, yet your effervescent personality shines through just the same. Thank you for all you do to inspire the "chef" in us all.
My guess... That substance attached to the spleen is called “omentum” (might have spelled that wrong) it’s a lace like structure that blankets over a lot of you abdominal organs when you open the abdominal cavity anteriorly/ventrally
Thank you actually! Missed and needed you June. I’m so inspired by your style and maintenance, it fits perfectly with what I want in the kitchen. Been trying to be low-carb and gluten-free for a while so this is the best, much appreciated.

@@germyw Maybe not a high quality tasting olive oil but a cheapy, neutral tasting, cooking olive oil? I’d be surprised to enter an American home _without_ something like that
@@germyw olive oil and vegetable/canola oil are the most common oils I’ve seen. Even as broke students, olive oil is common. Mind you it’s probably not the best quality olive oil lol but it’s usually one of the first oils people buy when they start cooking.
I literally opened my UA-cam app, saw June and immediately clicked. 😅 I love her 😍
I was so happy to see chicken hearts. They are absolutely delicious and we eat them a lot here in Brazil, as barbecued skewers. It's the absolute favorite here, and I really think everyone should try it at least once.
Yes, I know chicken heart and chicken stomach from West African cuisine, they are so yummy. I love the texture, so chewy.
I think the most amazing thing about June’s content specifically is that it creates such food inspiration in the people watching. I just want to go play with food every time I watch.
I know right?
Thisssss.
This episode was spleendid 👍.
😂
Perfectly splendid!🤪
I love how you two balance each other out. There is so much polarity in your relationship.
I love how every time Aaron gives June a high rating she’s so excited ! I love your relationship and it’s clear to me how much love and admiration ya’ll have for each other!
Another great, heartwarming, and entertaining video. THANK YOU !
Right I love how Aaron is so game on! He is so willing to try new things and his reaction is relatable. I mean hey let's try spleen could be a relationship ender. 😄She works so hard and he appreciates it. He doesn't always love it but he is always down to try it. Relationship goals
Every time I see the grocery haul, I think it's not going to last the week, and every time, June proves me wrong and makes a ton of food that looks better than anything I could ever put together.
But you really need a lot of time for this.
That sounds delicious!!!
I'm not sure if we can find spleen in the market (I'm in the PH), but there's always some liver. I wonder if we can use that instead of the spleen? They're both organs, yes, but they're most probably different tastes and textures.
@@novioey yup
I must try !
I know she's amazing and I live keto
And she's back!!! June on Delish is the best thing on UA-cam!
Over an hour of June and Aaron? Very happy right now 🙌🏽
June was probably feeling extra fatigued and "cranky" from the "low carb flu," I know I definitely get like that when I go on a low carb diet! (I go on a low-FODMAP diet for a month every so often for IBS reasons)
Low fody here! It can be rough.
I agree about the low-carb flu. It’s a hurdle.
I was thinking this around Wednesday, she's so petite too she probably needs the quick energy from carbs!
Agreed. I’m keto and had to go thru that. Upping electrolytes helped a ton
For those that get upset at you for using your own spices and oil are just silly. The heat thing about a budget is using what you have on hand to flavor what you buy.
Majority of the time I'm with Aaron about stuff. Zoodles, stuffed peppers etc. And he's honest. I can appreciate that.
“Zucchini cake spleen sandwiches” - words literally never spoken together until June.
Finally someone else who saves and uses the zucchini juice for a different recipe. Thank you for this waste not want not type cooking.
I try to watch things with my mum but she finds everyone quite plastic and too perfect for real life and then we found you... She watched all 1hr 19mins and 7 seconds of this vid without getting up and leaving! awesome channel, mum found you to be fresh and approachable (she loved your glowy skin) I've never subscribed so fast haha, thank you!
“Grit-while good in character, is not good in a bite of food.”
God, I love June!
I think June might be extra tired this week bc she’s starting to slip into ketosis; it’s one of the most obvious symptoms. Even though she said she wasn’t being super keto, everything she prepared really nicely fell into a keto meal plan. And it looked delicious! That soup 🤤
Aaron: "I'm a grown up"
June: "Debatable"
Girl, mood 🤣
Actually, he said "I'm a big boy". Which is even funnier!
@@DJoy222 yes!
I hope June and Aaron order a pizza with cheese bread after this video
I actually really like Aaron! He adds to the show 😁😁
“Im feeling angry today. anyone else?” 2 mins later “i feel the love of the universe in me today”
June must be exhausted carrying all of Delish on her back
I would never subscribe if it wasn't for her!
I don’t even know what other series are on this channel 😭
That’s why she needs her carbs
I’m not tryna eat spleen or heart myself but I love everything June does, so here we are
I love how June is so innovative with odd ingredients and low budgets. That being said, I'm not running to buy heart or spleen anytime soon. She does demonstrate that having a low budget shouldn't deter anyone from healthy interesting food. Am always thrilled every time there's a new June video!
You should try spleen! I love organs.
June: “Spleen, it’s the new ‘meat’!” 👏🏻🤣
Lol right
Me looking for all the “give June a raise” comments so I can thumbs them up: 🏃🏻♀️👀
chicken hearts are soooo delicious!! they're a staple in brazilian barbecues - seasoned with a bit of salt, pepper and grated garlic and grilled over high heat in the grill!!
Such an intuitive chef. No measuring, no timers, just feeling her way through it.
NETFLIX, YOU’RE MISSING OUT!!!! GET JUNE HER OWN COOKING SHOW
June is truly captivating and definitely the reason I come back. Her passion for cooking is so pure and genuine. I hope she is supported by this channel and is given more opportunities because her creativity is wildly entertaining and enlightening
How many people subbed Delish just to see June?? 🙋🏻♀️ I'll wait! 🤣 LOL
June, love your creativity and your sardonic sense of humor; I know you were tired during some of the filming, yet your effervescent personality shines through just the same. Thank you for all you do to inspire the "chef" in us all.
The reason I subscribe to DElish, JUNE!!!!!! YAYYYYYYYYY!!!!!! PS..... My cast iron pan is over 100 years old and I use it DAILEY!!!!!!!!
Wow! Love mine so much! Use it all time.
The moment she leaves Delish, I'll unsubscribe.
Oh I wish we had gotten June's take on what she would be cooking for Chinese New Year!
"as well as this herby seasoning that Aaron got from his cell phone company" WHY DID I LAUGH SO HARD
Random advertisement gifts are the best.
"Partially ruptured spleen". Not what you usually hear on a cooking show. You are the best, June!
