As a huge fan of Herman who recently purchased his first one (Ishtar), I visit the site regularly to see his newest creations. I wondered who bought that Sting. CONGRATS! It's a beautiful piece made by an incredibly talented craftsman.

Congrats! The “base model” Sting is much more my taste but I can certainly appreciate the full dress one for what it is. It’s great to see the iteration in his work. Hopefully he doesn’t Grimsmo the prices.

Agree! The base model is nice and understated. Just my own opinion but I think the other three are simply gaudy. Some people love that stuff but I prefer a knife that speaks much more softly.

I don't even want to think how many $$$ are sitting on Nick's table 🤑!! Herman has propelled knives to a whole new level of classic pieces of art - I had to pause several times just to stare at these beauties. You say you're gushing - gush away what else can you do when holding these knives. Well done & excellent vid.

I think you made a great decision. I too am insane but Being able to afford nice things is a big part of why I go to work. Of course taking care of my family is super important but sometimes it’s nice to be able to treat myself to something absurd. I’ve been eyeballing some thing from Herman For a good while, there are a few knives in that price range that I’ve been eyeballing I haven’t been able to make a firm decision yet. Enjoy that 💎 and Thanks for making a video about it!

I just received my first Herman knife. A standard Ishtar that I bought on the recommendations of both your good self and @metalcomplex. I had to send customs a pic of the knife and a link to Polish Custom Knives website to get it through, but that was no real hassle and DHL took care of it, just monitor your tracking and if it gets hung up jump on the dog and bone to DHL. A basic US to AU converter on google will give you a decent cost estimate. Definitely worth it, great Knife! Smooth as!

It must just be a trick of the camera, because Nick goes on and on about the fit and finish off these knives, but it sure looks like that inlay on the Ishtar doesn't line up properly. I went back and watched the review and There was no mention of it. But man does it look like it's either proud of the scale or there is a gap you could get a fingernail in near the point of the inlay.

I’ll admit from an appreciation of metallurgy, the patterns are stunning. And from a knife-making standpoint, a fantastic example of workmanship. I appreciate their using a liner lock instead of taking the lazy way out with a frame lock. Very impressive. But crap people, can’t they figure out a way to etch titanium into different colors? The combination of purple and blue in the timascus is Just a turn off for me every time. I do find it more pleasing than the other knives with the combination of dull gray and the bluepurple. But I just find it to be irritating to my eyes, like crimson and gray. Sorry OSU fans, but those two colors are hideous together. Lol. But the patterns and workmanship alone on this one could make me overlook the color thing cus it’s just that damn stunning otherwise. If I were in the market for a knife that expensive that is.
