- My Dream Tiny House has TOO MANY PROBLEMS in the Philippines 🇵🇭. Its non stop issues here at the tiny house! I cant seem to get these problems under control. I leave for a few days we have a leak etc. etc.
i am so sorry for all your troubles. You are a kind person inspite of the locals taking advantage of you.
Nice place living alone ,fresh air fresh buko and very quiet place to Relax ❤❤
Hi tal, the solution is use roof sheeting and cladded it with nipa, u should relay on qualified roofing expert on this and also have a good flashing connection between roof and wall. Use silicone sealants to avoid leaks. This should follow also in your tiny kitchen which will have problems in long run using nipa. Remind that typhoons will destroy light weight materials such as what is installed
That sheeting is as thin as a beer can ( junk ) Sorry to say
one strong typhoon will ruin it again.😅
I pretty certain you leaks are because they are putting the nails in the wrong location. It needs to be nailed or screwed in the valley, not the hills like most do here. That's why so many leaks. But actually metal manufacturers say to put in the low spot called valley. By putting it in the valley, the metal doesn't move, so it won't cause a leak from nail rubbing metal. We showed in our channel when we built a dirty kitchen in Western Samar. #BiikandKuting
Tal, as far as I know, nipa should be used when the pitch of the roof is much steeper than the roof that you have had built. This is to allow the water to roll off the roof and not just sit there, soaking into the nipa.
But the real problem is, or appears to be the cheap ass nails, which are not getting a good grip into the cheap ass coco lumber you've used. My solution would be to remove the nails and replace them with a good long woodscrew which will not be worked free by winds.
This of course, is not a simple job. While you're at it, you could apply something like a bitumen paint over the screw head for another layer of protection, and then use the bitumen to stick an asphalt patch to it. And while you're at it, do the same to every seam of the roofing sheet. How it looks doesn't matter because you will cover it all with nipa again.
Building in this traditional style clearly has its faults, which is why the Filipinos no longer build this way when given a choice not to. If the roof continued to leak, it certainly wouldn't be through the loosening of the roofing sheet.
Hi, I remember you from the cool Tuk-tuk race in Sri Lanka with Steve Yalo and was presently surprised to find your new channel, which I just subscribed to. Shalom.
Thank you friend!
Don’t pay anyone anything until it’s done and done right, don’t feel sorry for anyone,
Hello mate be strong. Ok! Everything will be alright. ❤❤❤
God bless you.
The eggs from a chicken that is not together with a rooster will not hatch as they are not fertilized! You should build a protective hollow block wall on the side where your refrigerator is, so the weather doesn't destroy it. Or alternative keep it indoors. I would done that. You can also build a half height all around the outdoor kitchen. The leaks from your roof maybe because of the nipa palm it gets wet and retains the water instead of normal runoff, so if you have placed a plastic membrane under the nipa then it might not leak.
Its nice to see ur house now the grasses are growing its simple but cute at least u have ur own house to leave ur soroundings with fench keep on going
Close the kitchen and must have a locked so if you are out of town. You dont want to worry about stuff missing.
Great dog. Smart too. We have two on a heartworm pill. Expensive ! but also will take care of fleas, ticks and worms.
Wow so nice house... I love it
Jealous to ur house. I hope one day I can also build like urs.
GOD bless 🙏
I enjoy watching your never-ending fixing your home vlog. Hope all will go well.
Its the law of attraction in action. He needs content. So the Universe hands it to him faster than food delivery.
I think the problem is the nipa on top of the roof. It will just promote rust because it will not totally dryout and in the long run damage further the corrugated roof. You have to remove the nipa and exposed the metal roofing to make it as well easier to fix the leak.
Yup, I agree. If you're using nipa as insulation then use insulation inside the house instead
@@t2dev nipa was probably use for Aesthetics. Foreigners value beauty more than locals.
You and your chickens! Now I want some chickens too. I've actually started asking around how much they are in my area.
Tal that brown egg 🥚 it has some important nutritional value, some egg at the market color brown they’re not real my cousin used to color eggs before and it’s hard to tell which one was real and which one is not needed a very good job. Thanks for sharing your lovely home. your cute tiny home 🏡 Tal that roof leakage is normal. We have a house in Philippines. We have to seal once in every three years or sometimes one every two years you have the right material
To cover the leakage trying not to get you that’s normal in Philippines with that kind of roofing
Sorry you've been having problems with your house. Good luck.
I am Pinoy but had encountered the same situation like you're faced right now. Some kabayans want the money but could not deliver per contract which is really frustrating.
The house looking 👀 good ❤
I would say remove the nipa roofing. If its just for aesthetic its not clearly visible anywy. Go with terra cota or even concrete tiles. It makes inside of the house cooler and not noisy when it rains. Just put a small nipa hut or gazebo n your yard
Hey Tal What’s up ? Why you have so much problems in your New Built House Hope All is Well ✌️✌️👍👍👍🙏🙏👌
Hey Tal, I’m wondering, how does the weather in Siargao compare with Florida? Planning a trip in February. (Omg can’t wait 😊)
Advice your house builder to you a PRIMERO WATERPROOFING. you will need a fibre cloth as well. It is best for waterproofing. Its like doing a fibre glass protection. Cover every roof nails with it. I use and tested it already.
Consider the typhoon and rainy season in Philippines use good roofing.Hope it well repair to a good one.
When on the roof put sheets of plywood or something down to distribute the weight so less damage to the roof.
Put fish net to protect the nipa for strong wind also,
the definition of insanity, doing the same thing over and over again. and expecting a different result
We had a home built in Zamboanga Del Norte and have been fixing all the problems for the next 8 months so far.
And tell your workers to bring a plywood for them to step on so their weigh will be equally distributed. Again use Primero Waterproofing and fibre cloth its better than vulcaseal.
Tal I’m happy to see you again in the Philippines 🇵🇭. It really saddens me that you’ve been ripped off by a dishonest carpenter. It’s been awhile and the work should have been done already. I’m amazed at how tolerant you are under these circumstances. I truly wish all the issues are worked out and you can just relax in your home. Hang in there I’ve been through the same things. Luvs the Vlogs 👍. Take care
It’s a shame how much time and energy you’re using to fix these problems. And money to boot. Your videos are inspiring and I love your new furry friend! He’s a fast learner! ❤️
On the front part of the house, the holes in between the roof and sanipa should be covered by epoxy it is where the rain water goes
Maybe you should've gone with Cubo. Professional contractors are hard to comeby in the provinces. We've had the same issues with construction
Ohhh dear...
If you are using cheap and thin metal roofing it tend to leak , only option is to increase the number of purlin so that once the water start hitting it won't create unevan voids , the purlin is they key to support thin roof metal ....😊
Good comment
I think you needed a gigantic umbrella 😊😊
I like this house ❤
SNAKE, oh no just a stick, peace ✌ and best of luck
you have nice house , didnt know they had tiny homes over there , say where you from ?
👍😎🤿🇵🇭Getting there!
We have the same problem. i changed carpenter 4 times but the roof leaks transfer from one place to another. Seems theres no end to leaks.
Elevate the nipa using screen wire so that the tin roof wiil easy be maintained
Its your mistake tal! If you just get an architect, your house wont get issues
Guess who has an architect! Me 😊
@@buhaynital does the architect supervises the project?
Do not use cheap wood tal! Termites might just destroy your house.
As long as wood will be treated, will cause no problem I guess
Remove all of the nipa from your top roof.use good quality roofing sheets.
Get rid the nipa ontop.use mondo sealer like said . And the design of the roof on the sides foe the outside kitchen the psrt it connects to the house wall will leak also as water runs down the wall .did the contractor designer did not tell you.. mondo sealers. If the nail is getting lose use screws
Yah better to close there to avoid wet
If your getting dents on the tin roofing every time someone does seal repairs it means your roof is not properly spaced with supports. This should be a simple fix. Two sealer coats at the most unless storms blow out your nails.
1 or 2 storey container home. Anchored with steel cable. Leak, quake, etc. proof.
Don’t give up fixing your house your almost done.
There should’ve been a one year warranty at least. Yup it’s frustrating to build a house in the 🇵🇭. I’ve had my share of contractors! They wanna charge you too much but then they do half ass work. You wanna help them out but they don’t wanna do it right. Only in the 🇵🇭 talaga!
DON'T PAY, until the issue is fixed
This is what happens when you cheap out on building a home it is evident at this point lol good luck tho bro
Tal,the ones the build your house isn’t professionals. There are local carpenter that knows what they’re doing. If you go cheap, more likely problems occur in the future.Good luck anyways!
You should be aware that there is constant rain in the Philippines. If you are using nipa as roof, it should be a triangle roof as to promote drainage. Nipa is not appropriate for your design of roof.
Dude I think the leak is coming from the side of the top walls. Make sure to extend the roofing
Put breeze wall on that side of the kitchen.
Get the elastomeric tape from handyman, wilcon builders n mr diy 1:36
Tape all surface joint together with d umbrella nail
Never pay in advance man let them do job and let the work done then when finish you can pay them after
waterproofing
Think it's issues with contractors every where in the world. Some worse than others.
Forgive me but why does the fridge need to be outside?, never heard of a fridge outside before, its going to get damp/wet for sure. Maybe thats what they do out there!
You know the saying, you get what you pay for 😢. Also Did you have licensed contractor and architect?
I wouldn't expect anything else from filipino workers. Once they have been paid that's it. They will fix thier mistakes but they will charge you again. Only in the Philippines 😢
Remove to the NEPA
Sorry . You trusted a wrong person. I experienced it also.
I think your main problem with your roof is that the framing is made from that coco lumber which is quite soft and not suitable for building much of anything that is meant to last. I don't even think using roofing screws would solve the problem of the fasteners pulling loose creating your leaky roof dilemma.
Overall, your specific problem is having to live in a corrupt society where building codes are not enforced and where shady builders are not usually sanctioned, and really, there is no end in sight to this endemic corruption; so, you'll have to do what Filipinos do: accept it for what it is and move on. Btw, didn't you also have a black mold problem as well?
hi! I have 3 silkies here in Tuason. If you want to send her to a good home, I'll buy her off you. :) I have 1 rooster and 2 hens.
shoot me a message ong IG! I got some roosters I need to get rid of hahaha
hi. like of the fluffy ones?
@@buhaynital
oh ig heheh ok sorry not paying attention
@@buhaynital
The problem is your carpenter, they are not skilled. Correct me if i am wrong i don't see rain gutters in the roofing.
people just don't understand how a pain in the ass nipa roofs are. the nipa roof on the house don't really do anything for it, even aesthetically.
Solution: Replace the whole nipa roofing with corrugated sheets, instead. ... I pray for you, man.
why dont you look for other people to repair it
He did, different people doing the repair with the same exact result. Did you watch the video??
hire a proper architect and engineer and buy quality materials
20000 for a tigbao. Tal. They literaly milking you.
The problem is cheap labor... just hire some professional
you should hire a professional contractor not a fly by night contractor.
Pls don’t feed the dog cooked bones, it will harm them.
Of course you used cheap wood , and cheap labor you should have contacted legit contractors, but doubt u will want to use quality labor it is not in your dna .
I cringe when you say you're getting the carpenter to fix your roofing issues ...... anything involving water - call a plumber - in your case a a roofing plumber . I know things can change as we move from country to country but building trades are consistent - a carpenter is a carpenter , a brick layer is a bricklayer and a electrician is an electrician ..... without seeing what your problems are , I can only surmise one of two things as the cause - substandard materials or substandard workmanship . you mentioned a standard " fix " that doesn't seem t be working - it's not working because it's the wrong fix . all I can suggest is getting the right tradesman on the job
There’s no such thing as a plumber working on a roof what’s wrong with you? Where are you raised in your mom’s basement
in my country we have roof plumbers , since plumbers deal with all things water ...... and my childhood house didn't have a basement but thank you for your ill informed thoughts@@nevergiveup-db6fp
Please don't feed your dog chicken bones. it's bad for them
Look at finn and kulas they have built large houses they use legit architects engineers contractors. You can seethe results u wanted to be cheap now ur complaining u made ur own problems by being cheap and u know this unless it is in ur nature to always be cheap.
Yes, it's cheaper in the long run to hire an architect and structural engineer.
Why do you have nipa and metal mixed together? ..and complain of leaks? Let me guess - you instructed them to build the roof the way you wanted it? Why not see how nipa is used in a home and then you have an idea how they go on? And do not hire the bums out in the streets -
Jfc, for all the time and money you’ve spent is pathetic imo as a Filipina. The work should’ve been done ages ago. I’m annoyed watching this because the people who took advantage of you are disgusting. You shouldn’t pay until thr job is done omg yikes. You’re waaaaaaayyyyy too nice 4:35 4:37
Dude, where is your girlfriend?
actually, americans dont know how make relationship with contractors. you have to cook for them aside from the fact that you paid them for the build... thats what my parents has taught me.
Yeah right, Filipinos in general do not have work ethics. It's pervasive in construction business in the Philippines.
They demand free foods and snacks with a very mediocre result. They are very slow and taking advance payment all the time and take more absences after getting the payment in advance.
😂😂cook for them??? Wtf lolz
@@abcamacho6187 course… in provinces they do that. Esp if you call daily. Because they dont hire another one to cook. They stay at the vicinity. They dont go home. Usually they are hired from another vilages. Watch the movie of diane lane under the tuscan sun. Italians and philippines have similar culture. They work you cook for them. Or they will go home to their place and will not come back on time nor will come to your house on time.
@@abcamacho6187 its basic in the phils unless you specify in the contract that food and lodging… are exclusives. Then they will hire sperate cook. That will cook for them three times a day. If not, they will ask additional after the build. They know their worth. Its not like america… also remember that once they build you a house the next one they build is indefinite. May take more than a month or two. And you will not buildt another house for sure coz u got one
@@rubycebreros2330 dude they AREN'T building the house lolz at this point they're fixing a leak......in his case just TAKING his money and not actually fixing the issue but yea NOT BUILDING the house which I would definitely understand them being fed but that's NOT the case here
Shallom tal, Ekh. Ata?
I love your house ,so cute I love it,I would like to own the house in the Philipines,I'm sorry that you going through those people you hired them, they did not do a good jobs in your house, those people's who are working in your house.👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍♥️♥️♥️⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
