After 41 rounds Ian is not at the 1st place. No matter what, a true legend
Ian has played great this tournament, Alireza and Abasov have been real spoilers, Alireza just tilting and losing to everyone, and Abasov played with 98% accuracy against Ian in the last game, and other games about 90%. Maybe just not Ian's year, but that's life.
Just hoping his round 14 match dont end in a draw just cuz they are both playing for a win... Cuz if they draw, whoever wins the hikaru vs gukesh match wins...
When is it Ian's year (yes I'm still tilted about the way he lost to Ding )
To be fair, Alireza DID beat Gukesh, only person to do so this event. And yet Gukesh is still leading.
@eragon78 Alireza has been playing very unpredictably and mostly bad apart from that one game
@@falcon_224 I mean yes, but the OP called Alireza a spoiler after talking about Nepo, which implies he was a spoiler TO Nepo, as if he made Nepo's tournament harder, when he didnt. He actually helped since basically everyone got a win on Alireza, but Gukesh got a win and a loss, meaning he got zero net points from Alireza.
So if anything, Alireza HELPED Nepo more than he hurt him, since Gukesh is the sole lead right now.
Nepo is not at all happy with the way he played. He should now focus on the next game and not let the game impact his performance in the final round against Caruana.
nepo unfortunately knows its all over ,to win vs drawano with black on the spot. Game over...
@@3DHDcatI’m crying, bro called him drawano 😂
If anyone doesn't win this tournament and regrets the most, it must be Nepo. He drew 2 games with the lowest-rating Abasov. What a waste!
To be fair, Abasov defended like stockfish in the game with black against Ian. Nothing you can do if your opponent plays perfectly.
He's the weakest super GM in the room, he's still a competitor. Just unfortunate for Ian.
@@davidwilson6577 he is not a super gm just a very good gm
@@seed869 aha, so he isn't.
All farmed on abasov but ian
FGHI = Fabi, Gukesh, Hikaru, Ian 🙂
Fabi, n all Naka, ian, gukesh
He said thankfully i heard shamefully and thought that’s a ian thing to say
pretty sure he said shamefully. he repeated it later on
He said shamefully because he looked at the line earlier in the tournament but couldn't recall and so still was surprised; see the joint FIDE interview.
Out of the top 4 he has the lowest chances to win now
Agreed fabi gukesh are the top 2 for now
@20secondsmotivation26 Thats not what they mean. Ian hikaru and fabi are all tied at 8 and gukesh is at 8.5. Ian is playing fabi and hikaru is playing gukesh. If gukesh wins then ian can't win even if he wins his game. If gukesh and hikaru tie, ian has to win just to be tied with gukesh. Same if hikaru wins. Thats why its hardest for him/fabi to win candidates
@@gabrielloeb8852And since he’s playing with black against Fabi, he has the worst odds out of the 4
@@20secondsmotivation26 nah, hiki is gonna get it done. but let's see :=)
Let Ian get hold of the results
Ian looks extremely tired...
I think he knows it's basically lost.
not shame on you what are you gona do about it if you forget
Ian always made too much effort in his career.
