You have Not Enough Wands, which includes the swapping wand. You could have Mr Mecreeps build the 9x9 out of cobble and regular glass, then use the swapping wand to change out the cobble/glass for your chiseled versions.
To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand the aesthetic of a 9x9. The cobble textures are extremely subtle, and without a degree in architecture most of the torches go over the player's head.
I might make you sad but there is a probability that he doesnt know of it, and it was the input of the people who actually made the mod. But if it is true then it makes my day.
Dire! an easy way to improve your builds, is to add accents. and patterns. something as simple as a circle or a cross in the floor, like you did in the space station, helps a lot. or a baseboard, like the lowest layer of the house is one color and the rest is different. also a "frame" often looks nice. I look forward to you giving in to our demands of trying your best to make a good build.
Mr Meecreep should become hostile if they cannot finish there job. If they hit you, you have a probability of dropping the box resulting in more spawns. only way to stop the attack is to kill all of the mr meecreeps or complete the task yourself.
Hey Dire, once you have a broadaxe, plant your oak trees all right next to each other so they grow into 1 single giant "tree" then the broadaxe will basically vein mine the entire thing.
Would be a cool config option for the Mecreeps to turn hostile if they're unable to complete their task after a decently long time period. Or have the current box be an upgrade to a cheaper box where that is the case.
For a house building episode, this is one hundred percent what I would expect from Dire! :D Good job, and hopefully your Mecreeps will be updated to use chiseled blocks! :D
I always try to follow along with what dire's doing in his series, cause I don't really know a lot about the mods, but so far I have tons of resources and a 7x7x31 smeltery but no machines or other mod items besides tinkers. Nice.
You can use that watering can on your saplings and harvest a lot of wood fast. I used four spruce together and am now running my dynamo off of the tree juice like you’d thought about.
Quick question: Why do you space your oak trees in your tree farm? They can be placed next to each other, growing together into one cohesive mass.. Using a Broad Axe then cuts down the whole shebang in one fell swoop. Much more efficient, in my opinion. Is there some reason that I'm missing? I've noticed you do it this way in several of your series. I apologize if you've answered this previously.
was playing the pack. turns out you cant actually build a hardened or any of the other thermal dynamics cells there is only the lead one. kind of at a loss of what to use to store RF actually. literally no good way to store energy in the modpack atm.
Everything starts small and evolves into something great ! So Dire start making small changes to your current build style and everything will become better over time :)
Meecreeps are way too powerful. Other than the benefit of fortune/silk touch or the occasional problem of lava, you can mine much, much faster by having Meecreeps flatten over and over. Way faster than manual mining, esp. since you can summon more than one creep at a time. You can also mine things you would not otherwise have the tools to mine and such.
Cobble makes good hammer and excavator head material for early game as you can just carry a stack of cobble and a tool station to field repair the tools. The rest of the tools can be high durability or copper for the xp but the cheap to repair head for cost. Diamond upgrades or a obsidian sharpening kit will let them work on overwold materials.
Phytogenic Insolator will definitely speed up production of ender perls if you have an ender lilly seed. I haven't yet tried it with the Immersive Engineering Garden Cloche, but it should be possible.
A chalenge that would make for a different style of building your houses in this serie would be to not make a single basement. Everyting behind walls, or on top. With some places where there are cool wireing going on some glass to see it trough. Maybe add some flickering lamps and what not. Also build a 3*3 "decompression/decontamination" sass to get in and out of some areas of your base. eg: bees room, maybe power gen room,...
Interesting reminder: Most players may think that Shulker Boxes were inspired by various backpack mods, but I've always thought they were more inspired by the Strongboxes from Thermal Expansion. Now that Iron Chests has expanded past the Exploration Update they can also be upgraded for even more storage on the go and with the same storage sizes per tier as Chests. #thebetterbox
Rajin Dar I don't understand how he spends his days in servers with these incredible creative players and hasn't picked up *anything* about aesthetics. I love Dire, but man oh man...the buildings...
He does somewhat well when he tries, like his space base. The problem is he doesn't really try most of the time. Using Chisel is nice but needs to put some effort into shape. I'm not artistic at all but I copy designs I see from other players as a starting point then try to innovate a bit.
I have a solution to your MeeCreeps. It's called Mike Dongle's. I use that in every pack I play. MeCreeps is not needed. It's very slow and most of the stuff the creep can do I can do faster. Mike Dongles makes instant flat area 50x52x50 or stairs going down to bedrock.
The house innovation escaped me. Seems like any other box you've built. It's a good thing you used such fancy materials this time, otherwise it would just be a clobble horror. Good job. *Pets Dire on the back ;)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Cream together the butter, white sugar, and brown sugar until smooth. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla. Dissolve baking soda in hot water. Add to batter along with salt. Stir in flour, chocolate chips, and nuts. Drop by large spoonfuls onto ungreased pans. Bake for about 10 minutes in the preheated oven, or until edges are nicely browned.
It would be cool to see, if a Meecreep can't execute a task, he spawns another Meecreep and if they still can't do it, they start spawning Meecreeps unitl you have like 200 Meecreeps standing in one location all arguing with each other
Has the meep creep been removed? Just started the pack and it doesn't seem to be in the pack anymore. (a few other mods mentioned in earlier videos seem to be missing too.)
Hey that actually looks pretty good! Always wondered why you don't just build a spacious castle or something instead of all these 9x9 rooms. Or a castle with 9x9 rooms inside 0.0
I noticed in an earlier episode you used gold for your Tinkers casts. I don't know if your aware that you can combine Aluminum and copper to make Aluminum Brass which can be used in place of gold.
Dire suggestion for the meecreeps mod how about chop these trees and chops the trees in a small area and you could even expand on it and tell them to replant the trees that way you canset up a tree farm and have the meecreeps chop and replant the trees for you
JFC that little audio clip that plays when you spawn a MeeCreep is annoying after about the third time it plays in thirty seconds. I hope it can be disabled in a config somewhere or something.
I think meecreeps should follow you around and have a contextual hotkey... so the same hotkey when targeting a oak wood knows "chop down tree" but a chest means "collect items" As a cost of use, I think it should eat a piece of food from your hotbar as a 'cost.'
while this would make sense from a gameplay perspective, the mod is supposed to imitate the meeseeks box from rick and morty. they only pop into existence to get ordered with a task and then stop existing when the task is performed.
When he killed the MeeCreeps it dropped experience... Does that mean you can theoretically get unlimited experience by summoning him to the build a any structure, then killing him.
Why is there so much bitching about the sizing of his house? Consider these two things; The amount of videos he puts out and how this is a "How to" series for people pretty new to mods wanting to understand how they work, like myself - It's not efficient nor wise to focus on your housing rather than what the series is intended for; teaching and learning. There's over 90 videos in this series on an average of 20-30 minutes atleast. If a mansion was to be installed it'd probably be 120 episodes. Why aren't people thinking instead of just whining loudly..? I appreciate the series, it's relaxed and educational and at times pretty funny too. Big thanks to Dire for doing all of this, great work. Thanks!
It'd be good if you could spawn your Mr Mecreeps in the middle of your farm, and have him harvest all fully grown stuff, and put it in a chest. (And replant, if you don't have any other mod that automatically does that) He's like a Thaumcraft golem... but dies sooner!
Is Mr. MeeCreep your revenge on the Endermen? :D I think, they can be used as an early game quarry when used to flatten terrain underground and another one collecting stuff laying around
Pre watching Direwolfs Let's Play: "I know fairly much about Feed the Beast After watcing Direwolfs Let's Play: "I don't know anything about this shit"
if you ask the me creeps guys to flatten an area and it's made of obsidian or a diamond ore do you get those drops or is there a limit to what blocks he can flatten?
Dire, if you're still going to use 9x9s then could you at least shape it a bit on the outside to disguise the fact that they are 9x9s? Doesn't have to be as extreme as the space-base in AoE but at least something!
I just noticed that the ender substrate augment for the phytogenic insolator didn't need what I thought it did. If he sets up the necessary machines (phytogenic insolator, magma crucible, fluid transposer), he really could just get everything going with only one ender pearl for that first end stone.
good point, it would be almost easy at this point to get an ender pearl, either that or get lucky and use another ender lily for the resonant ender, i'm sure that works also.
Please help when im playing this mod pack, i've turned off the hud part, where you look at a block and it tells you what it is etc. How can i get it back?
luke marshall go into controls in the settings and look for "Oneprobe". That's the mod that gives the item display thing, and there should be a toggle key. Just hit that again to turn it on
Someone on Forgecraft needs to try teaching Dire the bare-bones basics of asthetics, really. You can still have your 9x9's and simply build a real house around it. That's what usually gets me, how he never finishes (or even starts) the exterior. Granted, how often does he leave the base and look at it once he really gets going?
I'll be honest. I watch Dire's videos not to see his fncy buildings or whatever :P I watch Dire's videos to watch him automate stuff. So him building a 9x9 isn't that big of a deal to me. Although, it would be nice if he changed it up =D
When it hits time for you to need blaze powder you can run the Magma blocks from the nether through a pulverizer then a centrifigul seperator and you will be swimming in blaze powder and slime balls.
I know it's a Rick & Morty item and it's not realistic, but in Minecraft, this item should have a cost besides the crafting ^^ I feel this item is really overpowered for what it does for free. I don't know, Meecreeps could be hungry and need food to work? Or diamonds if they are greedy and you ask them a big task :p (Or also just give the cube durability i guess)
Will Mr. Meecreep be able to help me get two strokes off my golf game?
Direwolf said they have a lifetime limit, I think it was a safety feature installed after the "Jerry Incident."
"Just keep your requests simple, they aren't gods."
David Boyle which "Jerry Incident"? There's a lot of them.
What have I walked into “wubaluba dub dub” 🤣
"Damn it Jerry"
Dire try adding a prismarine part to your excavator. If there's ever a tool you want to be faster underwater it will be the one that digs clay.
dire: "i'm gonna build a fancy looking house"
me: "ooh i can't wait to see that"
dire:"it's still gonna be a 9 by 9"
me: "darn, i was jebaied"
You have Not Enough Wands, which includes the swapping wand. You could have Mr Mecreeps build the 9x9 out of cobble and regular glass, then use the swapping wand to change out the cobble/glass for your chiseled versions.
Will Mr. Meecreep be able to summon other Mr. Meecreeps if he gets stuck on a task?
Will Mr. Meecreep be able to cause a memory leak?
So dire is a Rick and Morty fan. I expected nothing less from a genius of his calliber.
He has 200 IQ
Dire! an easy way to improve your builds, is to add accents. and patterns. something as simple as a circle or a cross in the floor, like you did in the space station, helps a lot. or a baseboard, like the lowest layer of the house is one color and the rest is different. also a "frame" often looks nice. Space station?
Mr Meecreep should become hostile if they cannot finish there job.
If they hit you, you have a probability of dropping the box resulting in more spawns.
only way to stop the attack is to kill all of the mr meecreeps or complete the task yourself.
Awesome idea. Maybe some Mr. Meecreeps could be double agents that collaborate with endermen.
I love that forestry now allows it's trees to naturally spawn. I can now build with my favorite wood type as my base floor
Me too love the goes hostile if task not able to be completed. Mr mecreeps can get very grumpy at times lol
I already asked myself, is this the direwolf20 i know and love? where are the 9x9's ? Salvation has arrived!
I love how dire was like, "That looks nice", 5 blocks into the build!
Shots fired, Pahimar!
if a mecreeps cant finish his task for what ever reason he should attack the person who spawned him
For a house building episode, this is one hundred percent what I would expect from Dire! :D Good job, and hopefully your Mecreeps will be updated to use chiseled blocks! :D
Dire, just so you know, using same material sharpening kits permit you to restore fully your tool, even without a tool crafting table.
You can build with vanilla concrete. Its cheap and looks great
Mecreeps does not cut down giant redwoods. It will cut the block u click on and then despawn. Not sure if the tree is to big or what
Quick question: Why do you space your oak trees in your tree farm?
They can be placed next to each other, growing together into one cohesive mass.. Using a Broad Axe then cuts down the whole shebang in one fell swoop. Much more efficient, in my opinion.
Is there some reason that I'm missing? I've noticed you do it this way in several of your series.
I apologize if you've answered this previously.
built a second energy cell instead of just upgrading it to hardened :/
I was going to point that out as well.
was playing the pack. turns out you cant actually build a hardened or any of the other thermal dynamics cells there is only the lead one. kind of at a loss of what to use to store RF actually. literally no good way to store energy in the modpack atm.
You can upgrade it the same way you upgrade machines. Invar upgrade holds 8 million.
Thats the thing... you cant craft it..
Upgrade kits
Everything starts small and evolves into something great !

Dire: i am going to start building relatively nice looking houses
Me:f*ck yeah no more 9x9s
Dire:they will still be 9x9s.......
Me: FF DIRE
Lisa Murray yeah can't argue with that he makes the best 9x9s 😂
Hey I built a grey on grey 9x9 box, but it's prettier blocks! -Dire
Some people just don't have a sense for pretty architecture.
On the other hand he's great on showing the features of mods :)
"Pahimar in a box". Shots fired.
Dire ive always wondered why u put the oak saplings spaced out like that they can be placed side by side and still grow
Also if you are going to get a diamond chisel you might as well upgrade it to a iChisel . It is REALY neat
Waited for this for 5 entire episodes
I winds if the mecreeps would work on obsidian or meteorites. I used to use Computer craft turtles to gather those blocks early on.
EXISTENCE IS PAIN!!!
Looks like the meecreep can break hives and get bees without a scoop... naughty naughty.
The house innovation escaped me. Seems like any other box you've built. It's a good thing you used such fancy materials this time, otherwise it would just be a clobble horror. Good job. *Pets Dire on the back ;)

Amounts?
Existence is pain for a MeCreeps, Dire!
Is the tree hump to grow mod like in sky factory in this or no?
Mr Mee creep is op for mining. I set out like 10 of these to mine for me and just collected the drops
Do you find that when you look at immersive engineering manual the game randomly crashes to desktop without any error messages? Happens to me a lot.
It would be cool to see, if a Meecreep can't execute a task, he spawns another Meecreep and if they still can't do it, they start spawning Meecreeps unitl you have like 200 Meecreeps standing in one location all arguing with each other

Dire's seasonal 9x9 explanation makes me nostalgic
So, instead of upgrading the energy cell he has to hold way more than two single cells..he makes a whole new cell. Poor Dire.
If you make a 9x11 internally it has the same lighting properties. So 9x9 is not quite the most efficient.
When he killed the MeeCreeps it dropped experience... Does that mean you can theoretically get unlimited experience by summoning him to the build a any structure, then killing him.

Hey Dire... isn't Endstone craftable? I'm not a fan of The End (dragon, actually.)
pahimar in a box? Can meekreeps write equivalent exchange for 1.12.2 ? no? boohoo
EE > projectE, god i miss that stuff.
90hijacked old EE is best EE
When Mr meecreep is digging a 3x3 mine shaft what does he do with the ore? the stone he drops behind him but I can never see any ore??
Jerry: No more boxes
Rick: The box only contains a mop and a bucket
:0
So what's the percentage odds of each Mr Mecreeps spawning with either a Soaryn or Pahimar skin?
It'd be good if you could spawn your Mr Mecreeps in the middle of your farm, and have him harvest all fully grown stuff, and put it in a chest. (And replant, if you don't have any other mod that automatically does that)
He's like a Thaumcraft golem... but dies sooner!
I approve I've the Rick and Morty reference, Dire.
Is Mr. MeeCreep your revenge on the Endermen? :D
I think, they can be used as an early game quarry when used to flatten terrain underground and another one collecting stuff laying around
Pre watching Direwolfs Let's Play: "I know fairly much about Feed the Beast
After watcing Direwolfs Let's Play: "I don't know anything about this shit"
Dire must have a really high IQ to come up with that mod idea
Protip: The Phytogenic Isolator absolutely breaks Ender Lillies. It doesn't actually grow the plant, so no week-long waiting period.
Just make sure you don't hold the ender lily in your hand when you can help it. It currently causes massive lag due to a bug.
Yeah, the Redstone flowers are doing the same thing to me! Glad to know it wasn't just me.
If Pahimar helped make meatcreeps, they'll never de-sand a beach!
leave the lakes it makes the area nicer. just build around it and you will be building ascetically
Pahimar in a box would ask, 'why, you aren't doing anything right now'. You may have him build a house far far away, and then leave him.... Stranded.
Will S9 E9 be called 9x9?
why dont you get a patch made for the mecreeps mod where your buddies detect ore dict items?
daaaaammmmmmmnnnnn shots fired at pahimar
dire if u dont want to do bees then y did u add bees?
The meecreeps are basically meeseeks but minecraft version, which was actually a smart thing to do
It’s 9x9 time!
yay!
if you ask the me creeps guys to flatten an area and it's made of obsidian or a diamond ore do you get those drops or is there a limit to what blocks he can flatten?
also if you put him in a bedrock whole and ask him to flatten the area will he break the adjacent bedrock blocks?
Dire, if you're still going to use 9x9s then could you at least shape it a bit on the outside to disguise the fact that they are 9x9s? Doesn't have to be as extreme as the space-base in AoE but at least something!
couldn't you use the phytogenic insolator on the ender lily and go ham on ender pearls???
or any flower for that matter???
I just noticed that the ender substrate augment for the phytogenic insolator didn't need what I thought it did.
If he sets up the necessary machines (phytogenic insolator, magma crucible, fluid transposer), he really could just get everything going with only one ender pearl for that first end stone.
good point, it would be almost easy at this point to get an ender pearl, either that or get lucky and use another ender lily for the resonant ender, i'm sure that works also.
I did think of that, but if I remember correctly, that recipe doesn't exist anymore.
what difficulty are you playing on?
Step 1: have one mecreeps make a tunnel.
Step 2: use the new space to make many, many more mecreeps tunnels.
Meecreeps mining facility.
why did i only now see that dire's mod has rick's portal gun? could he be a fan? or was it just mod devs?
Please help when im playing this mod pack, i've turned off the hud part, where you look at a block and it tells you what it is etc. How can i get it back?
luke marshall go into controls in the settings and look for "Oneprobe". That's the mod that gives the item display thing, and there should be a toggle key. Just hit that again to turn it on
Someone on Forgecraft needs to try teaching Dire the bare-bones basics of asthetics, really. You can still have your 9x9's and simply build a real house around it. That's what usually gets me, how he never finishes (or even starts) the exterior. Granted, how often does he leave the base and look at it once he really gets going?
>make broadaxe
>go to twilight forest
>chop giant twilight oak tree
>wait
:)
I'll be honest. I watch Dire's videos not to see his fncy buildings or whatever :P
I watch Dire's videos to watch him automate stuff.
So him building a 9x9 isn't that big of a deal to me. Although, it would be nice if he changed it up =D
Maybe have a durability, but doesn't get destroyed, then refill it with a lot of sugar or something similar to it so it isn't too powerful.
MeeCreeps are pretty neat but they makes me want Thaumcraft golems even more.
When it hits time for you to need blaze powder you can run the Magma blocks from the nether through a pulverizer then a centrifigul seperator and you will be swimming in blaze powder and slime balls.
Nathan Sylvia nah, fluid transpose redstone Into glowstone then compress 5 blaze powder into blaze rods
No building gadgets mod?
All the shots fired in this episode, are we sure Dire didn't get the IE railgun yet?
I'll keep asking this on every video until Dire does so here it is......
Please Dire we want bees, man
Aye mate, I always see ya down in the comments. And I agree. Probably because I have no idea what I'm doing. ;D
Especially early game bees if possible
I hate bees
nona Don't worry there's Gendustry
What is that?
I know, Mr. MeeCreep is fine with despawning after his work is done, but I'm not so sure in this scenario ;) 28:57
Why do I not surprise about your first house?
I was kind of disappointed that Mr. Meecreep wasn't a cute little dude like the Thaumcraft golems.
*crying*
28:57 but he only wanted to help!
*crying intensifies*
Those pahi burns
I will subscribe to you're channel the moment a 9x9 is not the first structure you build in a series...
The Mecreeps shouldn't just despawn if their task takes too long or they get stuck, they should turn hostile.
