FUCKWJJSS I NEVER REALIZED I JUST. okay it was sad enough like the song by itself when eliza was singing it, from the perspective of a lover- but- but from the perspective of a child, a younger sibling, "when will you learn, that they are your legacy, we are you legacy-" the future generations is really what you leave behind, in the end. what you taught them, how you raised and protected them, when you loved them. and like, thinking about eri, learning all about izuku, not the hero deku yet, just izuku the kid after hes already gone... leaning about the past of her hero, because even he wasnt even in ua yet when he wrote that analysis or cleared that beach. at the core of it, uts that kindness that izuku had since he was the same age as her (like 8ish years old) that saved her wasnt it? (idk i think that keeping the line about "i try to make sense of your thousands of pages of writings- you Really Do write like youre running out of time..." it just hit different with midoriya...like. can you imagine eri looking through all his things and a shelf of notebooks behind her. notebooks born out of admiration and curiosity, both a journey of knowledge and a genuine desire to help. and she sounds so full of admiration at "you Really Do write...". can you imagine eri hearing all about izuku from his classmates, his mentors, just the public? but these notebooks, a metaphorical but intimate space for his thoughts? theyrr a source of awe and inspiration for eri, everything about deku is. but his notebooks, goddamnit his notebooks.) ((...what if he wrote a letter? a whole notebook for her, even? for his eri, his little eri, who he never got to see grow up, or graduate UA, but his little eri who he just Knows is going to be the most amazing hero long after him. i imagine that its one of the quirk singularity theory deaths for izuku. the war takes one final casualty in the end. all for one is gone, and one for all is too much. it dies with him, the quirk and the legacy. but he leaves a different legacy behind. his little blessing, his brave kid, his perfect baby sister. shes everything, everything to him. because shes herself. he loves her he loves her he loves her. symbol of hope, they call him, for when he saves those who never knew they needed saving. but even he has hopes of his own, for a girl he saved. for a girl who saved him.)) and so he saved her. and so she saved millions more. and so he loved her. and so she loved him. and when the world took a silent breath to mourn him... ...she, not silently, but loudly and boldy and proudly...she tells their story.
Omg. I’m surprised someone actually got the story I was trying to tell. Like everyone never bothered to look more into it but you did and hit it perfectly. Even adding a bit more that I love!!!
Also, you didn’t quite hit the point but I imagined the Izuku figured out he was going to die at the end of the war because he searched for answers to not die. When he saw there was no way he wrote at much as he could because he knew Eri would read them in the future. Izuku never changed the future at all, because the timeline was permanent.
OKAY BUT TAKE THIS Izuku dies saving someone- probably a child- and in his his sacrifice, the kid gets to live. One life for another. Eri relays this to him, but she doesn't have enough information like how specifically he died, so he's sitting for the next two years before his presumed deathdate trying to place his life over anothers- heroes can't save everyone, but if a hero lives another day, they can save more- but he's self sacrificial, and every time, no matter any changes to the past or information Eri gives his teenage self, he always saves that kid- he always dies. It's the only constant, because in no world where he becomes a hero (or hero-hopeful, I suppose, since he hasn't graduated) would he place his life over anothers- let alone a child's.
I’d love to have a part 2, this concept is new to me and I would like to find more, if you wish not to then if you can, tell me what the hell i’d call the idea so I could look for more.
I do have a few more ideas coming out like this but I honestly don’t know what to call it. I know there’s a few out there like this but I wouldn’t know how to find them. Sorry!

OKAY BUT TAKE THIS
