i just got one yesterday and for me it actually works for my entire room. i wouldn’t say that it cools down my room but when i have things running in my room(my geckos heat lamp, ps4, xbox one, tv, etc.) it maintains the temperature than when i didn’t have one and it got really hot. i honestly like this thing. it does the job for me instead of paying 500+ dollars for an ac unit
Remember wet and freeze the filter for 4 minutes( put a cup of water in the freezer also... take it out with filter and fill water). Then pop it back in... mmm nice and cold air. Home Depot has a cheap AC for $120-140.
wow really? I have something similar to this, and it definitely does not cool my room. It does cool ME down nice, but not my room.. which is why I went and got a window unit for my room. arctic king window ac used for 40 bucks.. cleaned it up and cools down my room AWESOME. even has the remote which I mounted to the wall as a thermostat lol. If you can find a window ac unit for cheap, buy it. these will NOT cool your room down.
*This works pretty well for it's little size **Fastly.Cool** my bedroom I learned to soak the filter in ice water for best resultsThis is a lifesaver when the power goes out over a three day weekend*
Always make sure the filter is, thoroughly soaked, in water. It doesn't have to be ice water, just cold water. Until the filter is wet, it's nothing more than a fan blowing over a bowl of water.
The trick is to help the evaporation process by pairing it up with something that dries out the air in the room. So I paired it up with a window air conditioner and now it works amazingly.
So I bought this at walmart for around $40 for my tent as I have an outlet near buy to plug in. I have it propped up next to my air mattress. It's cool at night and gives off good white noise if you need that for sleeping. 1 major con is that this is not cold enough when that hot summer sun is beaming on your tent at 8 in the morning. Secondly, this does filter the water you put in it so you will need a drip container of some kind!
I have one in a tiny room(mini office) in my house. It works fine for what it is. You can place it on your desk; at home or at work. If it’s for a camper... great... if you use it for your bedroom... put it on your end table facing you. Also wet and freeze filter...4 mins... chill a cup of water at the same time then refill. You can feel the difference.
Just bought one from cvs I was skeptical but this thing really work! it’s like a little fan that blows cool air honestly its working for me and I’m about 6 feet away from now.. I didn’t even put ice in it yet.. on a hot night 🥵 it’s better than a fan blowing hot air
I like it when its warm out and use ice and refrigerated water in it, and it makes it nice in my room. But if its really hot and or humid it doesn't do much. It's definitely not an AC replacement.
I love mine it cools my body down in my personal space I live in texas and it is so much better than a regular fan and I bought it for 19.99 at tjmaxx so worth the price I paid.
U should freeze the filter. Don’t assume people are lazy and won’t freeze the filter. I just don’t think it’s an actual review if you don’t use it with the manufacturer recommended settings.
Really comprehensive review, Mazurek. You should be awarded a monster cookie for this. I have a $200 dollar portable AC in my bedroom which is king, but I'm looking for cheaper options for the other room (I got two fans in the other room but they're meh). I don't think this unit will work for me.
It's $50 AUD retail in major stores, but I got mine off ebay for $15 AUD. It's far more impressive at that price, as it blows better and cooler than a mini USB fan you'd typically get for that price tag.
I got one of theese for about 20$ from a chineese Store. It's not called arctic air but it is the same. I like it pretty much! I usually put it on my desk and it works fine when i'm doing my work.
I did a survey and it was the reward and I had to pay the $9 shipping. Well through the order process it ended up adding another one for $20 plus a "mystery box" for $5. I didn't want either of those. So it ended up being $36+. The biggest problem was that I had NO ONE to contact to tell them I didn't want all the extra stuff and wanted my

I make a blanket fort with mine and it cools my entire body. You have to kinda so the blanket covers the half the fan is on the other side pulling in hot air from outside your blanket fort. XD
This should be a 5 min video. Most of the time you repeat the same thing. Im using it now. It works in front of your face and a life saver if you have no alternatives. I don’t think anyone really believed on the box that it cools a whole room.
Make a mod by drilling some holes for constant cold water flow ..using a usb pump & a small cooler full of ice ..as the ice melts the cold water runs into the resevior with over flow that recirculates back thru the cooler
Why the humidity raises and why swamp coolers work for less humid environment? Because it cools through evaporation, which an AC does too but uses refrigerant instead of water. Water has a high specific heat and latent heat of vaporization, so changing phases from liquid to gas requires energy which it takes from the air blowing over the water. It then stores that energy as a vapor in gas form. The process requires vaporization of water, which means that the air will have higher humidity as it runs because its vaporizing water. As humidity increases, more water vapor is in the air and the less efficient the device because less water can evaporate. When the air becomes saturated at 100% humidity, net change of liquid/gas volume stops because the rate liquid enters gas phase equals rate it becomes a liquid, equilibrium. Water has one of the highest specific heats of any liquid, but refrigerants have been engineered specifically for this reason. I feel the heat generated by operating the device probably discourages any real gains from vaporization however. The rate of cooling due to phase transitions are probably about equal to the heat generated in operating the unit.
If u freeze the filter and put ice cold water with ice cubes in the reserve it works pretty damn good. Lasted me over 2 hours with nice super cold air.. it’s not as bad I thought it would be
Idk, I guess I would say they are better than nothing. My ac was broke all last week and while the conditions are not ideal for the device where I live, we still used it because we had no other options.

this is honestly a really bad review of this product and didnt really use it as intended. if you think its gonna change the temperature of that huge room youre in withing just a couple of minuets thats a horrible way to test it. at least freeze it to show people how it works with a frozen filter and some ice water in the reservoir. its really not that hard to just put the filter in the freezer in the morning when working and take it out when you want to sleep, which is when most people use this. you just turned it on with room temp water and said ye i dont feel it over and over again without even letting it sit awhile. if you turn on the central ac in youre house when its 80 degrees its not just gonna read the temp at 70 right away after 5 minuets lol.

2-3 degrees is all you will get in conditions like yours where these are NOT designed to be used.
DO NOT BUY ONE of these unless you live in a DRY climate around 40% humidity or LOwEr.

The Arctic air is crap! It does not work, even with water in it and ice. You have to sit right in front of it to even feel a small difference. Not worth a penny! Don't waste your money, it is a rip off, plastic toy!
😂 i swear down
If it were 20$ It’d be worth it
rechargeable ba yan?
You can use a computer chararger
Basically, if you can find it for less than $40, it's still a POS! WARNING! WARNING! SCAM ALERT!
sounds like a small fan? hahaha
i guess sound is very subjective since it sound louder than my air blower gpu and everyone knows it sound like a freakin jet turbine
The answer is no. It doesn't work much at all.
I put ice in mine
This item is a complete piece of garbage. Don't waste your money or precious time trying to deal with these scam artists. Device is made in China & sold by people who do not service the product, nor can you contact them.
This is bad..every time i plug it in i feel some pressure in my head like its emitting radiation or something..i tossed this!!!!!
U Talk too much
So... it's an overpriced cheap fan.
You can get a good pedestal fan for $20-$25 at Walmart OR a great Lasko pedestal fan for $35 at Home Depot.
waste of money
These things SUCK! Not enough fan
These don't work people, its just a a fan with a wet filter in front of it. Your better off using the money just to buy a higher quality fan.
Evaporating water does cool the air ... if the water can evaporate.
