This was so difficult to watch , but I couldn’t look away. I don’t know how I would have dealt with her cries of pain. Child birth is so difficult but the joy afterwards makes it all worthwhile. Thank God she and her babies survived.
I find it ironic when guys say: "Don't be a pu$$y and grow some balls!" When in actuality, a female's reproductive organs are strong enough to facilitate human life and can withstand giving birth to an infant while a guy screams in pain when he get's hit in the balls.
Me too. I kept thinking how blessed we are to have modern science to get us through child birth. I hope that she’s spayed so that she doesn’t have to go through that ordeal again.

Otsuyu chose to be in the cage a little ways away from her human-mama but still within eye/earshot. Loutre-mama respected that. Another of Loutre's lady-otters grabbed Loutre-mama's arm and pleaded for comfort as she (the otter) suffered a miscarriage.
It’s so strange- I have little kids and watching this video put me right back a few years ago to my last labor. That cry is universal. I have to admit I turned off the volume when she was crying😣 ... I felt so bad for her, knowing she was in pain😥 ... She did an amazing job and she has two beautiful baby girls💞
I cried and wanted to hold her hand and try to comfort her and pat her. She was grabbing the bars in pain, poor little thing.. 3 1/2 hours of labor with no epidural. Can you imagine if every human woman had to go through that now a days? Then, a little baby popped out and she didn't know what to make of it at first! She was like, " What in the world IS THAT?" It took a few moments for her to realize she had a BABY! Then, the contractions, AGAIN! Not so long this time, but still PAINFUL. Then, another plop! A second baby! She knew what to do this time. She had to eat the placenta because it's full of nourishment with vitamins and minerals. And she has to lick the privates of the babies because they don't know how to go potty. She's teaching them. I'm sure everyone knows that, but some do not. I think dogs do all of this and cats too. My aunt raised show dogs and this is what happened every time the "bitches" had litters of puppies. I asked my aunt what was going on. Humans didn't do all this stuff, but we have the luxury of epidurals too! We are lucky. :). She's an incredible mommy/okasan. She is taking VERY good care of her pups/babies.

This was so difficult to watch , but I couldn’t look away. I don’t know how I would have dealt with her cries of pain. Child birth is so difficult but the joy afterwards makes it all worthwhile. Thank God she and her babies survived.
poor bub like a human mum in pain.

I find it ironic when guys say: "Don't be a pu$$y and grow some balls!" When in actuality, a female's reproductive organs are strong enough to facilitate human life and can withstand giving birth to an infant while a guy screams in pain when he get's hit in the balls.
@@timtam3730 bc that hurts too

TOTALLY UNNECESSARY PROLONGED PAIN. The owner was totally out of her depth and educational level....and in my opinion, has no business breeding them.
That was so beautiful and painful for her. I was actually crying for her. I am glad both of her little ones are alive.

A very difficult child birth. I was so scared when she was crying out during labour pain. But nature is amazing and she did it. And truly a mother will always be a mother no matter the species. The way the mommy otter clutched on to the babies with utmost care and gentleness. A beautiful video of triumph and affection. 🌹💐🎉

I've given birth to six babies and I sat here crying my eyes out in sympathy watching an otter give birth. She cried, I cried, she screamed, I cried, 1st baby comes out. I cried, Next baby she is in pain again, I cried, Baby comes out I cried. ... I don't know how mom sat there and watched that, she is a brave good mom for real. My anxiety level would have been through the roof!
@studiohq My anxiety soarded just watching this! I gave birth to 5 and well remember the pain. I'm 71 and have had at least 2 fur baby Shih Tzues at anytime in my life! I got every single one spayed because "I" couldn't stand the idea that I put them in so much pain!! I would have had a stroke watching my baby in a long labor!! All of my friends wanted a puppy from them ~ I "might" consider letting one have baby's when epidurals for dogs become common practice!!
4 babies here, I’m with you ladies. I just wanted to comfort poor mama.
Listen. When the mother otter gripped the railings at 9:38 ...I knew. 😫😥
@@tiffanybloke9076 That was the part that stood out as human to me and when the otter stopped crying after giving birth it me wonder. Does women stop feeling labor pains or any pain after the baby is delivered? If not what pain or discomfort did you feel after giving birth?
I apologise if those questions are too personal, would just appreciate some insight.

Yeah, the moment she looked her back to find another baby, it was adorable ☺️
Otsuyu IS a baby, now with precious babies of her own. She came through the labor and births like a little trooper. I'm so proud of her! It broke my heart when she cried, and I cried, too. Also when Odashi cried because she was worried about her sister. I believe that otters are the sweetest, most loving little creatures on earth! Congratulations, Mama Otsuyu!😍😘
That's it! Otters are the kindest and friendliest animals in the world!
It was sweet the way Odashi kept looking at 'mom' as if for reassurance that this was all okay.
Couldn't agree more!
@Erin Wrong otter species, chicky-boo
_These_ otters don't live anywhere near any seals
@Erin
For us regular viewers in here and the Japanese otter channels, most of the time if someone comes in to make an ignorant comment such as yours we just ignore it. And the few times that we correct you like what Soufriere was doing there then usually they just quietly go away because they know they are wrong since they just don’t know any better and made a hasty statement based on what they learned and read about sea otters. But you, you’re something special...if you know what I mean by special.
Otters are so cute, and having the opportunity to watch one giving birth was interesting. She is a good, loving mother and her babies are so precious and tiny. ❤
I could feel her pain as she labored. Every mother in the world can relate and empathize with her delivery experience. That was tough stuff!
Why didn't she give comfort to her with all her pain, but petting the other otter instead? I would have tried to reassure the mommy-to-be. And change those bloody towels!
@@lilliehalumi8770 other animals have different behaviors. Some animals eat or kill their babies having to deal with how they smell and crazy shit like that. To be honest, its best not to interfere with nature...Let nature do what it does.

The owner opted to stay because the otter would be more stressed out by their absence. If you notice, even if the otter trusts the owner, it still maintained its distance. They prefer to be undisturbed.
@@ayumuchorizo4486 Otters are known to have very distinct and defined personalities. Loutre-mama gave Otsuyu the choice of how to give birth.
You’re in so much pain for hours and hours and then WHOOSH just like that, the relief hits you. Man it was awful, and I never thought I could relate to an otter so much lol.
God bless you, and all mothers.

I have to admit I turned off the volume when she was crying😣 ... I felt so bad for her, knowing she was in pain😥 ... She did an amazing job and she has two beautiful baby girls💞
Thanks for the warning.
@@belladonna131 yea, that took her by surprise! It some time to investigate, what is that that just came out of her. It looks she was not sure what to make of it. It’s amazing to see how the maternal instinct kicked in.

My dog is very empathic, if I get upset, she is knows it & I swear on my life, sometimes cries with me. She will have big fat tears running down her soaked little face (only dog I’ve ever seen with actual tears). Well this little otter’s cries really got to her. We are in bed, I start watching this video & she whines loudly, looks at my phone & then digs her way under 3 layers of blankets…few minutes later, she would come out, pace in circles, leave the room & then run back in & stare at my phone. She seemed very concerned about whatever she perceived was upset. I finally turned the volume off. Gosh, I felt so bad for the little otter! Thank goodness everything is ok now!
Our problem is context. We presume we are somehow above speciation, when we are in fact enslaved to it as are all creatures.
