i have same setup canon t7 and sigma 150-60 contenporary. It is soooo hard to get a flying bird shot because af is this camera sucks. I'm probably gonna buy r7 soon
So I bought the R7 and I used it all summer. I’ve got a few videos recorded with it that I’m working on. It’s much better for flight shots but I already sold it as I want to buy an R5 instead.

Thanks! Yes, Merlin has been a game changer. Paired with using eBird.com, its made identifying species much easier and more accurate!

do you have any tips to get a shot of flying bird with this camera?
For flight shots I used the autofocus zone vs the spot autofocus. Makes it a little bit easier, and I always use back button autofocus.
