- Zoe Kravitz's directorial debut, "Blink Twice," came with a trigger warning. Should other films follow suit? Should filmmakers consider the mental well-being of their intended audience or should people take care of themselves?

100% agree with you. Also you can't always predict what is going to trigger people...are we only warning people about sexual violence? What about a John Wick type movie where it's gun violence? What about "word" violence? People are triggered over so many topics nearly every movie would need a trigger warning. If you are a person that can be triggered I think it's your responsibility to know your triggers and do your research.
Agree with everything you said! People need to be responsible for their own traumas!
Trigger warnings don't do anything to affect or hurt or bother me. If it helps other people, then it's fine, idc. I see no harm in it at all. It literally doesn't do anything to the movie.
I just want to watch a good movie.
I agree! People who need trigger warnings need to work on themselves. I'm coming up on 62 years old. I've had trauma in my life. I have dealt with that trauma without trigger warnings. So many people today don't know how to deal with life.
Totally agree. The only 'content warning' a film should have is the rating itself. If someone wants more info, there are plenty of resources all over the internet: movie reviewers, Wikipedia, parenting sites/forums, etc. If I am unsure of a film's content, I check the IMDB Parents' Guide, which is usually helpful both for parents who want to know if a film/show is safe for their kids and for adults to know if a film/show is safe to watch with their parents (this has been a lifesaver for finding shows to watch with my mom, since streaming shows tend to be rated MA). People who are worried about triggers should take responsibility for their own boundaries and do the research themselves; it's actually empowering to know that you are able take care of your own mental health needs without having to be coddled by society.
I think trigger warnings are kink tags. A way for ppl to find the weird stuff they are into. Seems weird to me.
Interesting train of thought I had never thought of that
Yes! The way so many want everyone else to take responsibility for them. You are an adult. Be an adult and do what you need to do.
👍🏿
Trigger warnings in films wouldn't really bother me, I understand that there could be a need of certain warning like SA or violence of some sort but that's what film certificates are for, I just think it's a bit sad and pathetic that there are certain people who need trigger warnings for things like racism, grief, bigotry and homophobia especially if you already know the film is tackling one of those subjects so how mentally weak do you have to be to get triggered by something like this and why go and see a film about certain subjects you know might upset you? probably so that you can complain all over twatter or f**kbook after and try and get the film cancelled because there was a funeral scene and it triggered you because a gay family member died a year ago and it brought it all back up again, it's so sad that people are so weak minded nowadays.
