Greatly appreciate y’all’s dedication to these young men. If I would’ve had things “my way”, I would be 2 years outta line school and working in the trade. But things don’t always work out the way we plan or expect. That being said, at age 38, I’ll be getting a fresh start at a tech school here that partnered with the power company. I got my crane ticket here in Australia which allows me to operate one of these even as a Linesman. We call them Peru here though. Harder and more dangerous job than it looks. A strain pole snapped in half while it's being straighten after storm damage. Nearly took out the operator controls and with it the operator could've had an x-arm in his chest. Hindsight we should've unstring it and then straighten it instead of doing it loaded with about 4 bays attached. Pure luck.
is this necessary taking the lineman course to operate digger derrick? cuz in Kor we don't need to take the lineman certification to drive the digger derrick. we just need the license for that. so most of line mans in Kor don't know how to operate that. the roles are separated.
You don't have to attend a lineman school to use a digger truck, as long as you are trained by a company. It is something that is very beneficial however for our students to know going into the industry.
