I'm sorry I don't know if they get to Tilbury. And we weren't casting far, and most of them were hitting the lures at our feet, in literally a couple of inches of water
The start of a Stricktly series (and any of the following programmes) has to be THE reason to go to the beach. And if there's a squid 🦑 to catch, so much the better 😁 After Ben posted his first video of fishing for them, I've now ordered some lures and they've just arrived. What prospect of time and tide returning while the wee beasties are still around?
Nice one Chris, you can't beat free bait can ya. Never tried it myself as of yet. All the best from GRIMSBY
And additional thanks for the recipe. Fingers crossed, I'll have a need for it 😋
Good luck Mike.
Fun evening that mate and glad to be able to share your first Squid on the shore with you 🎉
Yes it was! Thanks for the tips.
Will definitely try squid fishing as i never caught one, thanks for your tips. Tight lines. Subscribed to your channel
Thanks for the sub. Definitely give it a go, Friday and Saturday looking good where I live.
40+ years ago I caught squid off Brighton Pier. Had some good ones in spring and later in the year on same type of jigs. Thanks for sharing.
Good stuff! I guess they were always there, but maybe not in the numbers that are here now.
Looks like good fun I've got try this.and what a reward food and bait nice one
It was, just waiting until the conditions are right to have another go.
I'm certainly going to give it a try. Where did you get the pearlescent jig from, I've looked everywhere. Thanks
I got it in tools and tackle in Newhaven , but it might have been the last.
@@SEAFISHINGwithCJ Thanks for replying, much appreciated.
Greetings from Brighton
I got quick question high tide or low tide for squid fishing
Thank you for sharing and all best CJ
High tide
Nice video how does shore jigging differ in technique compared to boat?
Seen the Japanese fish for squid quite different interesting?
On a boat you are vertical jigging for them, in the shore it's a slow retrieve
No , this is true. And they are great to eat too.
CJ A? do you think they would come down has far as tilbury on the river thames if so how far do you cast.
I'm sorry I don't know if they get to Tilbury. And we weren't casting far, and most of them were hitting the lures at our feet, in literally a couple of inches of water
Shouldn’t be a ‘dance’ for a squid, should obviously be a ‘jig’
Good point. Next time . I didn't film the dance this time, settings were wrong
Are you doing a cast and retrieve?
Exactly that, but very slow.

Me Watching strictly was why Ben was able to get down the beach before me.
What state of the tide was you catching cj?
Tide was flooding. We were catching throughout but more as the tide got bigger.
