(like sub reciever)? -I find that a little stranges as I saw on this other video of this radio that that person had the Sub-reciever on 10mtr and the main VFO reciever on 40mtr and it functioned well. - I am getting this one myself after this weekend (not sure if its the D version of if its this 100 watt) - Nevertheless: Very nice video though... -regards from Norway.
I have a FT-2000 and I would not trade it for anything. 100 watt's and a Shure SM-48 microphone on a scissor boom with a foot switch and an end fed sloper and I have talked all over the world. Band scopes are people to lazy to just reach over and turn the dial and actually listen to what's on the band and I swear my FT-2000 can hear a mouse fart! No new gimmick radios for me. Don't know what you bought but I would guess you got rid of the better radio. KE0SJQ
Very nice demonstration, thank you! This video and your other videos had all the details I needed to know before buying my second-hand FT-2000. I wonder if you could help me with something? When I turn the volume knob all the way down, there is still a bit of hiss coming from the speaker. But on the FT-950 there is a relay that completely cuts off the audio when the audio knob is turned all the way down. Also, when I press the power button momentarily on the FT-2000, I hear a faint relay click and the speaker is completely silent. Could you advice me and say whether my FT-2000 is operating correctly, or is the audio in fact supposed to be completely silenced (by a relay) when the audio knob is turned all the way down? 73 de Magne, LA1WUA

Yep, true! It's a great radio. Everything was fine, good receiver, very nice color display, big body size and many knobs and buttons on the front panel... but spectrum scope was the reason why I sold it, nothing more. 73m Paul
OM0ET I have the 7300 and notice it’s a terrible radio in a contest environment. Cannot get away from the qrn. Was looking at a different radio with better filtering. Maybe the anan.
@@JayN4GO I agree, I have the 7300 and the audio is crap compared to my ft-891 which also has a better receiver. I was around at my friends qth today and played around with his ts-590sg and the audio and filtering is wonderful. The 7300 is a decent radio but its rock bottom entry level and if anyone is new to the hobby then I'd advise a ts-590 sg or ft-2000 2nd hand. The ts-590 has an if out to connect sdr but a scope won't allow me hear signals better. I was very impressed with the 590sg good radio lots of buttons and if out ready for sdr if you want a waterfall and this is the way every radio should come, traditional design with buttons with option to connect sdr. Icom spend more time on bling than the receiver on the 7300, the screen is too small, if they ditched the screen with option to connect a monitor then this would have been much better but it wouldn't improve the audio or receiver.
One of the best HF radios ever made from Yaesu...... I'm not selling mine in a million years!!!!..... Very nice video, thank you.

Do you mean to show power on the sub RX display? If yes so you have to update firmware for the latest one ;-) 73

o00scorpion00o 590sg is definitely the best of them all. Even the 2000. Awesome filtering. Sdr play with the pan is very nice
