In case anyone is wondering how this works, this is called a "mob switch" zombie villagers that you have traded with will not despawn. They also count towards the hostile mob cap meaning nothing can spawn because the cap is full This needs to be 2 chucks big one side being off in the spawn chuncks like he did or a chunk loader (which is an item being sent to and from a nether portal) the other side without a chunk loader to turn spawning back on Note. This only works on Java sorry bedrock players
I was wondering how the zombie villagers wouldn’t just despawn once he got away… I didn’t know that if you traded with a villager before it was zombified it would mean the zombie villager doesn’t despawn! That’s pretty helpful information!
Also this wont work in the nether or end as each dimension has its own mob cap You can recreate it in the nether with a chunk loader but to my knowledge chunk loaders cant be built in the end since they use nether portal
@@masterdeetectiv9520 Yeah, the only chunk loader you can make for the end would involve the end portal frames in the over world. Nether portals don’t work in the End. But that’s also a one-way chunk loader, since the end portals only load the End side, not the overworks side. This means you’d need a normal chunk loader to keep an end chunk loader working.
@@masterdeetectiv9520 yes they will count to the mob cap even if you don't trade, but they will despawn making them not count to the mob cap, that makes oc technically correct for saying they won't count to the mob cap.
Beppo, I just gotta say your videos changed my life. They helped me so much and without you. I don’t know where I’d be. You truly are a amazing human I love you!
Alternatively, use a nether portal chunk loader and spawn a load of Wardens into a cage. As long as the Wardens have an aggro trigger (just a note block on a redstone clock) they won't despawn, and you can spawn the 70 Wardens by just AFKing and jumping a few times, spawning them on a platform above you. Make sure you move the Wardens up a bubble elevator so they can keep spawning, and it's a bit riskier, but a lot less labour intensive.
Let me remind you something: Phantom still spawn since they aren't affected by the mob cap. It doesn't affect the nether or the end. It creates a decent amount of lag since all the zombie vollagers can still pathfind.
Holy crap…It’s honestly insane how redstone contraptions went from simple novelties to hidden rooms to farms and now machines designed solely to abuse game mechanics.
People in the comments don't understand anything about minecraft mob spawning. He didn't use cheats or change to peaceful. He built what is referred to as a mob switch. There is a set number of hostile mobs that can be loaded in the world before the algorithm stops spawning them. I believe for Java it is 70 per player. By putting the ZV in the spawn chunks, they will always be loaded, which means hostile mobs will not spawn anywhere in the world no matter where he goes. Cheats aren't required and this technique is popular on technical servers such as Scicraft
I don't want to be this guy but this there's something you didn't mention. Spawnchunks are centered around the world spawn. The world spawn can A. be set with commands and B. often isn't exactly 0, 0. The world spawn can be offset by a few hundred blocks in each direction for example. This method works only if you figure out where your spawn chunks end for yourself because I can almost guarantee you the coordinates you mentioned aren't going to work for a lot of people. Sorry just wanted to get that out there
@@antonio32aYes. But that’s assuming everyone is far from each other. If players are close to each other you don’t need the exact amount. Of course if you want to do it properly you need 70xamount of players. But for 10 players, 7x7 should be enough for a prank, even less should also do the trick imo.
I really would like a hardcore gamemode with no mobs. Feel like it would be cool to just chill going through a run. You still cpuld have hunger and such but just no enemy mob spawns
So basically what we're doing is Mob Switch The Chunk where you spawn inside at the starting of the world will always be active, where ever you are away in the World. And the other chunks "which the player is not in" will not be active. So if 70 Hostile Mobs (eg. Zombie Villagers) are in the World Spawn Chunk, the Game won't spawn anymore Hostile Mobs [Since 70 is the Max Cap for Hostile Mobs in Active Chunk] and the Second the Chunk he made nearby is not a World Spawn Chunk, so it'll become inactive when the Players not nearby. Therefore any mob in the Active Chunk will be Recognised by the Game and any mob in the inactive chunk will not be recognised by the Game. He made Red Block as Inactive Chunk He made Green Block as World Spawn Chunk (active chunk) (where he trapped 70 mobs so no more would spawn)
