Phil Jackson is a strange character - he's always so revered and when criticism comes from individuals it's often rejected by the public. What Melo is describing opens the question and critique why Phil couldn't get success with him and more so didn't fully try - apparently they hardly spoke and that's weird considering he had one of the most talented scorers ever in his franchise
@@programSense that's obvious, that's why I'm saying he's also saying he's overrated without wanting to say i.e. putting all the blame on Melo which goes in to my initial comment. These instances show how much focus of blame is put on the performing athlete because it is easier to point out weaknesses on the court than the ones made on the sideline or in general management. And given the major talent Melo has offensively and his defensive work can be argued, definitely not top tear but not as non existent as Hardens for instance. Look at Dirk for example, I don't think he was a better defensive player than Melo but a similar offensive standout talent and they managed to create a team around him which they never did around Melo.
Congrats on your 100th episode fellas well deserved. Melo was a great choice. Melo gets a bad rap because he was selfish and wasn't a team player but he will go down as one of the best players and scorers in the NBA History. Stak and Matt you did it again. 🔥🔥🔥🔥 episode.

I normally don't watch anything over a hour on UA-cam, but I watched this whole interview. Glad I did. Great interview with Melo!
By watching this i just became A Melo fan. Dude seems nice, real, smart and just seems a humble guy. No arrogant egos!
Great interview 🔥 Melo is a legend one of the 🐐s imo.
I appreciate this interview man for MY taste Melo is the greatest scorer that’s a normal size not freakishly tall or fast. Footwork Post work Dribble pull up triple threat the 🐐
Been looking forward to this episode. 💯
Getting goosebumps when I hear these stories. God bless Melo! Respect 🏀🔥
im just gonna say it was an honor to watch this man every night in new york. one of the best scorers ive ever seen. did it from all over the floor. underated offensive rebounder. and when he is enganged like when woodson had him he will play defense. he about to go get that chip with the goat to stamp his HOF Career
The fact Melo wants to sit with Malcolm X and Garvey. That's all you need to know about the 7God!!!
Carmelo the " Bully" Anthony for you young guns that never seen this man play in his hay day, he was beast in his prime.
Was his post up game that mean? What specifically made his game bully cos I always hear that
@@redman6790 his size 6'8 240 very quick and athletic ...his first step was lethal, post up game was nice 👌 turnaround jumper was his go 2..excellent mid range , at that time 3z wasn't a thing like now..good free throw shooter , made alot contact when driving to hole and would either get fouled or make the hoop...In 2k terms he was a 3 lvl scorer hit up his highlights.
@@kaliboi2475 definitely was such a cold shooter, one of the best evidently given his top10 all time now. Im interested in his bully game tho, was he like Demarcus cousins type of bully to the basket and easy bucket?
@@redman6790 lol yeah bruh that nigga would post yo ass up miss the first layup get the tip n slap the glass and scream every game. Trademark
"Buzzlightyear your Woody" 😂😂 that's actually a bar 😂😂😂
"In Trinity and beyond" 😂
People wanna talk trash bout Melo like he shouldn’t be a HOF but this man was my favorite player back when I started high school in 03. He was the most complete scorer in the game in Denver. Take u off the dribble, kill u in the paint, mid range legend, knock down 3 point shooter & was CLUTCH. Melo was the reason I grew braids for 8 years lol. But c’mon Melo, that top 5 ‘civil rights’ leaders was trash. Omit Obama, insert Elijah Honorable Muhammad 💯
S/o to y’all for getting Melo on, my favorite player all time 🙌🏾
Matt: "Jack is scared to get in the bathtub. (To Melo) you know how to swim?"
Matt 'subtle shots' Barnes!
😂😂😂
Jab jab slide lmao
@@Wetwallz_45OT Jack got defensive. "I can manage" Hahahaha
Melo is of my favorite scorers of all time up there with Kobe & Durant in his prime..I wish he would have went to the bulls when he had the chance to, would have help d.rose also..good to see him doing well its just him & Bron left from they draft
“You know jack’s afraid of the bathtub” I’m dead💀
When they had to take another sip of the wine, Stack was like fuck that wine, where my liquor at 😂😂

Y’all gotta get Kenyon Martin next, the man gotta story to tell
So underrated man. Dude was a freak athlete
Yes!
Hella athletic wasn’t scared of nobody the type of enforcer every team needs to feel like we in this together plus The Mann could guard ☝🏼through ✋🏼
Can't wait to see Melo as a Laker 💜💛
P.s Stephen Jackson face during the man's manscaped commercial 😂
S/O to Matt, Stack & my Guy Melo. Been my favorite player, since he stepped foot in the league 03. I was in Middle School at the time and I remember every boy had a string back, that was either Melo or LeBron. I was so mad when he got snubbed for rookie of the year. It's only fitting they finish their careers together and get a chip
Lebron ain’t retiring anytime soon
One of my favorite players ever! I remember watching him win that NCAA chip when I was 13. I hope he gets one with the Lakers.
Melo is one talented well spoken man. From the 503 we appreciate the excitement and commitment you gave to the 🌹 CITY
I knew from jump this show would stand the test of time. Two of the realest dudes to play in the NBA are now killin the game with this podcast. Great guest to have for episode 100. I wish y’all all the best in the world. Keep up the great work fellas. 🦾🦾🦾👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿💯🎯✅🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🍾🥂
Shoutout to Meloooo, legend and one of the best to ever do it and still doesn't get the respect he deserves!
Man y’all should have had the camera on Matt face when he said “really” to melo starting off the Detroit topic! 😂😂😂
Get Deron Williams on here please would love to hear his insight about his career given he was the best then fell off so quick
What happened to him, injury? He was everywhere then gone.
Best in wat eating
Yoooooooo y’all really got Melooooo. That’s crazy. I clicked on this so fast when I saw it. Y’all really glared for getting this interview 🔥🔥🔥
I hope my man Melo
(one of the beautiful jump shot form in NBA IMO)
get his Ring this 2021-2022 season.
@28:40 "aint no teaming up back in the day, you ran your own team" 💯🙌
Best scorer of his generation. I could only name Kobe & AI ahead of him. That’s it.

I like how they didn’t ask any controversial questions at all! Dope interview
Man I love this shit! I can watch these all day man I love the laid back authentic feel y’all provide
Real Recognize Real Growin up Melo was my favorite player, but I can see how HUGE his Ego was and how he brought down the organizations he worked with.
Dope ass interview. Thanks for coming to Portland Melo. 👏
My boy Me7o!!! Let's go!! 🔥🔥
Get this man a chip!
Melo was getting love here in bmore to the point where we even asked him to be on the stop snitching DVD. He was on whitelock when he said he went oversees worth 100 mill to come back with a penny. So he threw that sh!+ In the water lol. Talking about that Olympic bronze medal
Lol crazy true
Barnes gets to sit on the most uncomfortable chair ever.
That was a awesome episode I've been a melo fan since Syracuse man it's been a honor to watch him play and I cant wait to see him win this season plus I hope ya get Jay-Z for real
Prime, "Bully Ball" Melo is one of the dealiest scorers ever. The battles he used to have against Bron and Kobe was amazing. The younger generations need to know! I hope Bron can get a chip for his brother and Russ!
This is a honest interview. Carmelo is that dude!!
The Manscape ad was fuckin hilarious hahaha i never thought there would be a day where Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson were trying to sell me on pube maintenance
One thing about this show is the chemistry Matt & stacks got wit interviewing guest. Well put together & ask the right questions. Gives the guest plenty of room to speak & express themselves. Salut 🏁
Phil Jackson is a strange character - he's always so revered and when criticism comes from individuals it's often rejected by the public. What Melo is describing opens the question and critique why Phil couldn't get success with him and more so didn't fully try - apparently they hardly spoke and that's weird considering he had one of the most talented scorers ever in his franchise
if MJ, Kobe or Shaq were only scorers then same thing would have concurred
@@jamesvause3418 so you're saying Phil is overrated as a coach and gm?
@@wrnr_mn I think he’s saying Phil doesn’t like one way “superstars”
People really came for Scotty when he said Phil is racist, as if Phil doesn’t have a book saying some crazy shit about black players
Respect Melo! You on the cover of the best basketball game EVER! But.. WE WANT BEASTMODE!
