- Picture Perception & Discussion Test (PPDT) is a screening test in the SSB. This test is common for CDS SSB Interview, AFCAT SSB Interview, SSB Interview Direct Entry. In this test, the candidates are shown a blurred picture for a period of 30 seconds. Based on that, candidates are allotted a time period of 4 minutes to write a story on the picture with details consisting of what had led to the situation, what is happening now and what will be the possible outcome. You have won half the battle if you have written a good PPDT story, the other half lies with executing a good narration and discussion. The time limit for narration is just 1 minute so you need to create a very good impression on the three assessors. Here are some tips for good narration:
1. A good narration shows good power of expression, so it is necessary that you speak fluently without any stammering or stuttering.
2. Listen to the instructions carefully and based on that, start your narration by mentioning the number of characters, their age, gender and mood. Also, mention the name of your central character and his traits.
3. As you are given only 1 minute, you need to speak in such a manner that you at least cover the gist of your story.
4. The time limit of 1 minute does not necessarily mean 1 minute, it may exceed the time limit if they find your story interesting. So this is a positive sign.
5. Practice your speech every day before a mirror, this would improve your fluency.
6. The power of expression does not necessarily mean that you need to speak in English only, you can use Hindi if you get stuck but revert back to English as soon as possible.
7. Good narration is well complemented by sturdy body language so keep your back straight and hands on your thighs.
8. Be loud clear and have a smile on your face while narrating.
9. Make Eye contact with the group while speaking
10. Always start with a greeting such as “Good Morning” and end with a “Thank You” even if your time was over.

Gentleman in my story I perceive 4characters in which all are males and around 45vyears old and are in neutral mood , main character of my story is Dr Rohit who is working as senior scientist in drdo chemical branch,during the COVID 19 initial wave,he along with his team tried different formulas for vaccination and got successful in few tries,due to his hardwork many vaccine companies got blueprint of vaccine formula and many lives can be saved

in my perception, there are three characters and the main character is raju who is a doctor in the village called pream nagar raju has recently been shifted to the village from delhi government hospital and was unsure about the adaptability in the village since he has stayed in the city since childhood he was not fully satisfied with the location of the work and the new environment but he was very ethical man and was very helpful to people so he took doctor as his carrier and his parents were very happy with is decision and always encouraged him in his work then one-day durin rain he got the called from a teenage boy calling for help and he quickly rushed into the location, and he found a boy and his mother who has lying in the bed was suffering from fever due to working in the rain to earn for his son education and make him worthy, they both mother and son rely on each other seeing this made raju to be in the village and help peoples in need wich rejoice him internally and finally took the decision to stay there .
