In this episode of Gators Breakdown, David Waters kicks off fall camp coverage by reviewing what Florida Gators head coach Billy Napier and offensive coordinator Russ Callaway said in the 2024 season’s opening press conference. Billy Napier discusses the evolution of football culture at the University of Florida over the past three years. I think we have more WRs stepping up than we know. I just got a feeling someone besides the starters is going to take off.
Losing is one of the best motivators for an athlete with an authentic competitive spirit… convinced we enter the year with a psychological advantage because of how we finished last year.
Dave, I genuinely believe that this team will make a lot of noise this year. I also believe that people need to quit crying about the schedule and relaying the same message that all the blogs, “experts”, and other podcasts are doing.
We were sorry last year, 5-7 is sorry, however the team had potential and they will maximize it this year. Yes our schedule is tough, when is it not, and majority of those opponents will be coming to the swamp.
Can't wait to be in the Swamp for the first time for the Miami game

14:37 But it's not a whole different team. Dave. They're third in the SEC in returning offense and fourth and returning defense. I forget the specific numbers, but it's over 50%. returning snaps on offense and I think it's over 60% returning snaps on defense so this over half the same team it was last year. They're just more mature and have experience now. So I think you are right to look back at last year and see what that team did because this team is going to look pretty similar. Hopefully they'll be improved but similar.
Similar in players that's actually been on the field together that's been in the system either 2 or 3 years other than that it's way more talent than Napier's previous 2 seasons, 80 plus percentage that is Napier's now this year we all should see the fruits of this staffs labor from here on out!!!!!💯
The TEs play well and catch well. Will they get more touches?? That will open our offense a bit.

People are crazy to think players of mbatchou size come around often, im glad Mike Peterson and coach chatman jumped on him eary because they can actually show him techniques in which to improve his game off the bat.. people better realize Mike peterson had avery long stint and successful career in the NFL and chatman was a big reason why Carlos Dunlap reached 100 sacks while in the NFL. Instead of bashing these coaches decisions like they have these types of resumes or experience on an NFL level...they need to shut up, because most these Coaches Billy has hired or been around has been there and done that not them...💯
What's the word with Zipp? Am i missing something ? I've only seen 1 video of Zipp and not 1 coach has said a peep about him. Callaway mentioned every other TE except him 😕
I noticed that too about Callaway not mentioning him. I've been told he may never be the same player.

Sorry Gator Dave but Napier is talking about what the cleaning staff thinks about the team. This is major college football and he’s talking about this nonsense. Last summer he was talking about the buddy program or some such thing to build team accountability but then we discover he can’t get 11 players on the field for a punt. He’s obviously not a bright guy, that hides behind Coach/organizational speech. Check out the Sunbelt teams he beat, often barely, at Louisiana to get this job. Arkansas State, Georgia State, Troy, Coastal Carolina, etc. Enjoy your show for years but I can’t take this guy.

lol let’s at least give Billy 3 games and see what he does. If we choke against Texas A&M then I’ll probably be right there with you but until then I’m rooting for Billy. The underdog stories be the best stories
