We would like to sat a VERY BIG THANK YOU to the subscriber who has went out of their way to send Halo and Oden a new house, pillow, and pillow cover! Let's get to work!!!!

Dogs will be more comfortable! May want to sevendust around the pens to prevent tics, fleas and other pests. Being in woods is just a natural bug haven. I know the dogs will be happier than being on chains daily but you do what you can with limited space and a timeline. Y'all are getting just that much closer to comfort! They'll be safe while y'all are busy around the home this year! Giant hugs to all of ya from SE Missouri! 😊🎉

Mike as nice as those dogs house's are you might want to put a pallet underneath them to elevate them from all the rain you guy's get from getting inside. Or something to get them up of the ground. You know what I mean keep them fur babies high and dry. 👍😎🇺🇸

Mike and Lyssa, if you got warranty cards with them dog houses fill them out or go online and register the product. Also later down the road if something happens to them you can use them for a template and make them out of wood. Just a suggestion. I'm seeing this video Friday morning @ 7;40 AM. You could build a small platform / deck to put thee dog houses on. About 3" higher than ground level. Uae the front posts as support for the roof/water catcher.

Why do you have the harness on the dog’s while they are in the pens? Love your show tho. All the best to you two and your family ❤
When I built my place I assessed how the wind blew. I deliberately placed my breezeway in the dog's barn area so the wind would blow through it. It's turned into natural air conditioning on really hot days. That helps me in the house and the dogs in their area when they are outside in their barn. You might consider which way your wind blows if it has a usual direction and set the dog doors that direction or away from it to prevent wind driven rain blowing into the houses. I'm sure both dogs will enjoy their new house...as will Lyssa as Mike clearly fits very well.

The best thing about this Mike & Lyssa, @Drifting Dreamers 5 is that now they can be out in their kennels while you run to town and if it starts to rain they'll be protected.

@Drifting Dreamers 5 ~ Yeah, remove that dog bed come winter (If they last that long lol), and replay it with straw. Otherwise the dogs won't be comfortable. I'm speaking from experience and someone from Michigan with harsher winters who've had all their animals outside 24/7 (Dogs, cats, rabbits etc)...
And no I didn't bother reading through all the comments yet 😂.

Love the idea of the triangular roof catchment in the corner over the dog-house. Extra protection for dog and house. I can see using some bungy cords or tie-downs of some sort if weather and winds get bad. A Layer of concrete blocks on the bottom covered with rug, to stabilize it? Definitely make sure the dogs can't jump on the house to jump out of fence. Maybe put a daily treat in the house so they associate good things with the house.. like a rawhide bone?

What most people don't consider when placing a dog house. Is where the prevailing winds are coming from. In the summer a breeze blowing in isn't bad unless it drives rain in. But it doesn't keep a dog warm in winter when the winds hits the front of the house. I don't know which direction your winds are coming from.
DOGS ESCAPING; your at a great advantage with the mass amount of trees, if plan #1 doesn't keep them in, you'll be able to design an extention upward or whatever you can " DREAM" up
they remind me of the plastic houses that was for the kids years ago the kids houses were thicker plastic tho

those dogs will be snug and comfy in those kennels .
Please anchor them down or when the wind comes up they will not blow away or getting a mess inside...........tie them down.........Maybe one of your bricks can set in the dog house.......something

DOG HOUSE FOR WEDNESDAY; Was watching. UA-cam > Something Green Acres, building their dog house, she mentioned for their working/ guard dogs, there is a formula of how to measure the dog then the recommended measurements that the dog house should be, ( they recently moved to homestead in Maine)

We had a dog like Odin one time and built him a really nice dog house with bed and all and I'll be darned if he would use it. He preferred laying outside when it was snowing or raining or any inclimate type weather. Nice of whoever the viewer is that sent the pups these homes and I hope they get a lot of years use from them.

Great gift from a awsome viewer. Place the dog house in midfle of pen instead of next to fence and spending money to keep them from jumping over. Also check the wind direction, id place it on a platform to keep water from getting inside. Use straw inside during the winter. You are close to the Air Force Base is where the jets are from. ❤

if it were me then ii would put up a log in that place you mention then i would put a metal sheet over it and then put a rain gutter in the back that funnels the rain into a container of sort that gives the dogs water.
in this way then you dont need so mutch roof, just to keep the dogs from jumping out and it will collect water from the metal sheet whit the rain gutter.
maybe it is a bad thought but that is how i would have done it but i am curious what you are going to do :)
