I bought a PC years ago (1999/2000?) and it came with Corel Video Studio, v4. Smart packaging I'd say because I used it, knew it, and stuck with it all these years upgrading along the way. I've always had issues though with smart render, when it was introduced. I have an MSi Laptop with with 32 gigs of memory, an Intel i7-7700HQ CPU @ 2.80GHz, with a GeForce GTX 1060 GPU. I love this laptop and it runs Davinci Resolve just fine, yet I'm still behind the learning curve with this software. Much of my video editing needs are similar to yours. I'm impressed with the render speed you got. It would be worth the $$ for that alone. I'm currently running v2020 Ultimate, which was in my experience my least favorite upgrade. It seems buggy so I'm not using it much. I'm still in a Hmmm, should I or shouldn't I upgrade frame of mind. Thanks for this video.
Hey my friend I hope you're still around. I also use 2018 I'm curious do your flash animations still work in 2018 version ? Mine do not Adobe Flash I believe swf Files are not supported. Can you please touch on this for me ? Thanks Keith
I just downloaded the 2021 trial version having not upgraded since the x8 version. So far I like what I see. but since I am not as active as I once was making videos I am uncertain if I will buy it.
Have to watch for caching. Whichever runs 2nd runs a lot faster. Also, 2020 version runs faster than 2021 though file sizes can be larger. No hardware acceleration runs as fast as acceleration for RTX2060 Super. If you watch GPU Usage it will start out high (around 50%) but then quickly settles at about 7% - and look at which process uses the GPU and it frequently other processes. Sort by GPU usage - not Videostudio. This is my last VS update (got busy and didn't use the 30 day return period). Vs 2020 the kids AR was all that was added.
The rendering quality is not as good as other software programs since the bitrates are very low, there is grain in the rendered video that shows up as pixelation noise in my animations. I upgraded from VS20 Ultimate to 2021and rendered 646 frame animations for speed comparisons using just a GTX 965m Nvidia cuda acceleration. Version 2021 was 8% faster than 2020 with MP4 file output taking 6'35sec. Using this software has a very fast workflow and there are some things this does well such as video masking compared to PS, VideoDirector, and the Magix/Vegas products. But there are some things that are not very good too.
How this work with 4k , is any good the playback? Because I have the 2019 but that’s only is for fhd and they say that 2021 can edit 4k videos even 8k but not sure, do you know is the 2021 is any good for 4k videos or 5k
I am debating this or cyberlink 19 which i am trialing. i don't like some of the cyberlink features and if openshot had audio voice over i wouldn't even use cyberlink 19. Its $169 with their photo editor. I need to be able to fine tune my clips and cyberlink isnt the greatest for this.
I have it it has improvements and problems I have Dell M4600 Precision 8 gig ram 500 gig SSD 256 i7 O/S 10 1 gig Nvdia and it locks up "crashes" slow to respond up to half a minuet for the curser to respond. the rendering is fast and it doesn't lock up or slow down my other open browsers or programs like photo shop. Great video subscribe it will do you no harm.
I can tell you how to get rid of the Chipmunk audio listen close. Start your video from the very beginning. Once you're at the beginning mute all the tracks except for the one that sounded like a chipmunk Now go ahead and press play and it will not sound like a chipmunk. Once you're done doing what you want to do. Don't forget to unmute the audio track in your timeline.

Got the Ultimate edition for $38 !!!! Totally worth the sub $40 I was already a PSP owner and with the Black Friday discount!

If you’ve got the money, then it’s worth the upgrade, but at this price it’s not absolutely necessary if you have a decent program already.

I have Video Studio 2020 and it's been nothing but problems right out of the box.
Ask for a refund, it’s not worth it to fight with a program just to make the videos you want. I hope you find a good program that works for you
