"The hour of joy" At the end, The sound feels dark, and sad at the same time because of this moment: 18:50 Song.
When I saw The Hour Of Joy, my heart sank, I knew they would attack but not to the people who visited the factory. And when the sad tune of poppy’s themed played while showing all the bodies, I cried. It was so sad to see it.💔😔

The Hour of Joy was truly the most depressing moment I have ever seen from Poppy Playtime period. No loud noises, no jumpscares, just once showing the factory was once a place of joy to now showing everyone all attacked by the toys and then soon just dead on the ground. But you can’t blame the toys since they were once kids before turning into those monstrosities this was there chance for revenge on everything the factory did to them.

Yeah but the awful thing is that most of the adults present in the footage were definitely innocent, which are probably the average workers and visitors that wanted to check the factory while not knowing of the atrocities the scientists did to the toys and children
It gave me chills I liked how it showed different locations in the factory all those Miss Delights chasing that one man will give me nightmares I also liked that Boxy Boo was there and when it showed all the bodies and the Poppy music was the icing of the cake made it so so sad
The one taht a man fall near rail way made me scare like they have hundred of them crawl fast eat the, little bit bro it give me nightmare

The gameplay already showed the prototype he is a metallic creature made out of past toys we have seen and faced and he can be spotted during the shrine part when catnap was praising him like a god

He seems to only repeat what is already said, similar to bumblebee. He can’t create sentences, but only mix-match from what is already said, which seems to require using different parts of sentences from varying persons.
11:49 This tape honestly makes me almost understand why the toys did all this; they took these literal children, turned them into literal monsters and just told them “This is your life now”.

Whats even crazier is they totally couldve gotten away with this had they simply just shown more respect and care to the kids once they became toys, but instead they chose to lock them up and treat them like animals

The fact all the kids were so excited to be adopted and cheered when Samuel went away, not actually knowing he was gonna die is so sad to me. That and the kid trying to find his friend.

@exoticbutters5456 Coworkers, Children and people who wanted to live longer got put in toys. The other toys knew who the toys that were made of coworkers were and killed them. Prototype planned the hour of joy, the moment where everyone died. Protagonist was NOT in work while that happened so he is the only survivor. Everyone ate tbe bodies that they dragged down somewhere and when it ran out they ate eachother. Protagonist is back to see what happened and so on and so on

A little reminder that the game Poppy Playtime is said to be set in the year 2005
And the hour of joy has probably happend in the year 1995
So that means the toys have been living out of the corpses of both employees and civilians for almost a complete decade and then resorted to hunt each other when the bodies ran out

I saw a really good theory, which is that we are actually Richie. We were supposed to die with everybody else that day, but we didn’t show up to work. And the reversed radio is talking something about how we didn’t show up if I remember correctly.
The Hartman incident felt like getting your heart ripped out. That poor kid could've had a life but was turned into a tortured monster instead
I think we can all agree that The Living Toys had a good reason to turn against the employees of Playtime Co. but Poppy makes a good point. All that killing isn’t gonna undo the damage that’s been done.
Even The Prototype seems to be “the hero” of this story, and while his motive is understandable, it also makes you wonder what his endgame is in the current game?
Project Playtime reveals that The Prototype is trying to stop people from making more living toys. But in the current game, it does make you question what is his end goal?
Even Ollie (the kid on the phone) is either a living toy or a kid, but it’s hard to say exactly to who he is. We know The Prototype can have different voices, so it wouldn’t be a surprise that it’s revealed that Ollie is The Prototype.
plus it didn't change the fact that they were willing to kill innocent civilians and kids as well. In the crossfire I can get, but those toys literally went straight for the kill.

@@loganentertainment1814 in a tape in Chapter 3 about the Hartman Incident: 13:10 you can tell the employee who is helping the couple adopt someone was completely shock and oblivious when the child was marked as "Testing" which shows that not everyone even knew what the factory even did behind the scenes.

The Hour of joy is just...depressing and scary. Imagine ur at a toy factory and u see ur co-workers start to get slaughtered by the things you helped make. I'm pretty sure I also saw some dead children. Mommy even killed one cause u can see the small body of a child falling from ontop of the screen I'm just imagining the screams and cries as everyone ran.
The most horrifying part is all the bodies, the sheer large amount of souls that were massacred is truly terrifying. Makes me think the only way Ollie survived is he either was smart enough to play dead, he hid in a place no one would look or he really is a toy/the prototype.

For one thing, the monsters barely survived after 10 years of no food or clean water, and no human being could do that. Second of all, if a human being actually, did the impossible and survived that long then they would be an adult by then. Ollie sounds WAY too young to be true.
Pretty sure the 3 figures that fell are men. It was said in chapter 2 that Mommy actually cared for the children and would behave/be sweet when they are around, I doubt she would hurt one.
Plus she is seen in the tape grabbing 3 figures that are all the size of a man. No children.
@@thedroidtech.2022 I agree. Considering the fact that the prototype can mimic voices, he’s most likely imitating the voice of a child so the player doesn’t feel suspicious. You can hear by the way Ollie speaks that he is not human, regardless of how much he tries to sound like one.

The Hour Of Joy is something that genuinely seems terrifying, all at one moment, every toy in the establishment, everywhere throught it, just turns into bloodthirsty monsters and kill everyone they can. The mass murdering of hundreds, maybe thousands of men, women and children, just by toys. And at the end, The eerie unsettling music box plays in the background as you view the aftermath of what is essentially a mass purge. Truly terrifying.
There were no children in sight during the hour of joy though.
the children were spared, in the miss delight tape catnap admits that he put all the ids into a safe place

Well, the FNAF tapes are basically some nonsense with jumpscares on the camera, the Poppy Playtime tapes really shows how things really happened, like the factory massacre day as this one shows

The hour of joy is dark and terrifying like imagine being the guy being chased into a dead end room followed by Ms delights (catnaps cam wasn’t very graphic I wish it showed how he killed them)
Catnap really kill someone un the vhs ir you look closely, he grab that person and throw It like a baseball to the stairs and his blood spreads around him.
I think he just gassed everyone and then killed them while they were sleeping like the guy he threw at the staircase for being in his way. All the ppl look like they’re sleeping on the ground if you look closely

"where are the children? are they in the same place as the employees?" "no" "are the children safe?" "yes" "can i see them?" "no" "and that was it. that was all hed tell me. probably because he knew id kill them all". like, catnap is still fucked up, but he at least understood the mission and stay focused on the objective of who they were really going after.
Putting together the amber alert, the flashback of the “incident”, and the hour of joy footage, you just feel so horrified on so many levels on the horrific fate of the playtime workers
This game's pretty damn sad. Especially the Marie Payne VHS. Lady knew exactly what was going to happen, and we the playe are the ones who ended it.

God, the way Claire Harper just screamed and cried for her was heartbreaking, she saw Marie as a daughter which make it even worse.

I'm actually getting to really believe the protagonist is Richie given at how he keeps getting vhs on every chapter.
Maybe he left the company before August 8th of 1995 or something, got fired or whatever. The dude was just some epmployee, which explains two things.
-Mommy and Miss Delight mentioning he worked there
-Poppy saying he didn't do anything wrong, due to being just an innocent employee.
-the man talking in the VHS of Huggy during the hallucination saying : "your conscience finally getting the better of you" , which makes sense since Richie was short tempered and what not, didn't really care about stuff that much.
Probably he is, probably he's not. But I think the protagonist is female because while having the gas mask on, we can hear a high pitched breathing, and the adult male people probably can't make a high pitched breathing.

I just realized that when the prototype said "I learn something new about you every day" he was speaking like the scientist voice.
He played back what he said. It seems the prototype can only repeat what is already said. I think he can’t copy a voice and say whatever with it, instead he is limited to mix-matching recordings of past sentences.
You ever notice how Ollie seems to start and stop some of his words?
Like they weren't part of that sentence originally?
@@RustyHorizonif that’s the case, then this “Ollie” must’ve been a real character before something happened to them, so the prototype registers the voice as a new one in its system to use.
@@SQUISHYCANDYGUT I guess that’s possible. It seemed that Ollie’s voice is too seamless to sound mismatched, but then again, the Prototype may have improved its voice.

Messed up theory now that I see this:
We all saw the disembodied toys and hanging toys in the game, and we now know those toys were once children. Since they fed on the flesh, does that mean that they’ll go crazy if they start? Do something drastic to get out of this nightmare?
The toys did it to themselves. They ripped each other apart when no food was left. And some hung themselves to escape the hunger and madness.
This story has hit super dark.

After watching "The hour of joy" my mind went back to "Ms Delight VHS"
She really could have killed them all, she probably ate her "Sisters" too since she is the only one left and thats why she is so INSANE, this chapter was DARK DARK
"Probably 'cause he knew I'd kill 'em all!" And then she starts laughing maniacally - bro, that VHS tape gave me the most chills. It shows how quickly Miss Delight descended into sheer madness. And that voice acting was insanely good.
Super creepy when you realize Rich is Dogdays and Stuart tricked him into becoming it.

(Edit: Also, I might be overthinking, but the way Rich says he is not a fan of this stuff and that the kids deserve some real sunlight, meanwhile, Dogday literally has day in its name and wants you to go outside iirc)

So the Hour of Joy is how the Toys went Lose and kill all Playtime Co. Employees. But if all of them died, then who sent us that letter to come here?

Before chapter 3 I used to believe it was Poppy herself who somehow sent the letter, but she even says that she knew they took the corpses of everyone to eat them, so someone else sent the letter saying "They're still here"
What if it was The Prototype all along? In one of the tapes we can see that he's able to mimic voices, so maybe he wrote that letter in a way that would made us think it was Poppy.

Welcome To Playtime’s voice actor did a perfect job. This is probably what Huggy would sound like. It sounds witty, clever, smart and disappointed. It’s perfect.

And OMG how utter cold and cruel knowing that used to be an innocent child
Clair Harper's distressed "NOOOO!!" is probably the single most startling (though definitely not the scariest) thing in the entire game because of how suddenly loud she is. Everything else around you, as well as the audio of the tape, are so quiet by comparison. Even if it's not technically loud by itself, it feels so much louder because it's so sudden.
I could understand Claire Harper so much when she was screaming in such a painful way depending on how raspy her voice was. Her being a counselor at Play Care taking care of the children (orphans) especially Marie Payne (A orphan) she has to RIGHT to feel the way she's feeling. She was so sudden with the way she quickly responded to whoever she was talking to. She really cared a lot for the children ☹️💔
When the teasers for chapter 3 came out, that’s when the idea of this game being silly completely ran out the door for me and now seeing the hour of joy, tape really shows how much they really care about this games story and also how depressing it is.
These voice actors did such an epic job, like, the miss delight one literally gives me the chills!!

I think I’m going crazy because was I the only one who kinda expected it?? Like Y’know all the protagonists coworkers disappeared in a factory with sentient giant toys who wanna eat you, I didn’t figure that they’d all revolt at once though so that was a neat surprise!

Even as a really desensitized person, the Hour of Joy was truly just horrific for me. Not in the sense that I was screaming or having nightmares, rather, in the sense that I could feel the immense loss as a human beong, even knowing that many did deserve what came to them.

The Prototype has the power to enter enter the giant toy’s minds, like Huggy and Kissy, and control their thoughts. They are not in control of what they feel most of the time. Only kissy and the rest of the Smiling Critters have some resistance to it.

I really love The Hour of Joys tape it shows and explains on what happened like it showed huggy wuggy kissy missy mommy long legs catnape and the rest of them killing everyone in the tape like wow that's how it went down

Same but we learned a bit about him like how the scientist treated him and Ollie might have a connection to him cause we know that prototype can use different voices and in chapter one we saw a bloody voice box taken out of poppy and he seemed excited about us seeing the "real thing" (the prototype) and during his VHS you can see a laser pointer around the TV screen which we know the prototype used to escape which means he's behind the player watching.
Hopefully, they add more tapes or clues in the next chapter, telling us more about the smiling critters deaths

Huggy eating people. Mommy long legs with all force detaches a person in half. And then dropping people from high places. Boxy boo Biting 3 or 1 people in half. Catnap biting someones head off
Depressing music.. Lifeless bodies.. No loud noises. No jumpscares. Revenges DO work sometimes. And this were the BEST chances of them all.
The kids cheering for Sam before he left reminded me of the promise never land send off when a kid gets “ adopted”. Chilling when you know what actually happens to them.

The Mimic but actually done right
Man, I know Poppy Playtime was dark but they really outdid themselves with this chapter. It's an amalgamation of terror, disturbing and somber.
Something I noticed during the hour of Joy. The final log VHS tape from poppy playtime chapter 1 Was recored during The Hour of Joy because, if you listen closely in the final log, VHS tape, you’ll hear people screaming of death in the background.
And it seems that the remaining children in playcare (The ones that had not yet been transformed) were not butchered like all of the adults were. Though obviously Catnap and/or the Prototype had them moved somewhere else as Miss Delight could not be trusted.
The CatNap kill in Hour of Joy was absolutely brutal.
It was a kid, still alive, but barely and he took him and launched him so hard he practically flattened.
I don’t think it was a kid. In the tape of Miss Delight recalling her conversation with CatNap, CatNap specifically says that the children are NOT where the adults are and that they ARE safe. Some people actually think it will be a lot less like just a year for it to release because the company behind the game (aka Mob Entertainment) has been really growing. It’s now a company of 145 people and continues to grow.

It’s the efficacy in which they wiped out everyone in the building so quick is an additional factor I find horrifying. You’d think with there not being as many of the big ones some stragglers would be able to hide or survive but they worked so fast there was no chance.

the fact that the kids died for nothing hits different. it’s a really unique story line, and the devs did so good on the game. i could feel the fear in the work force announcement. people running and hiding it’s so sad. so heart breaking.
The hour of joy reminds me of ‘Cabin in the woods’ purge scene and ‘nope’ gordy’s scene. Truly one of the most impressive scene in horror games.
