I'm 53 years old and when I was in middle school all I wanted to do was run like Carl Lewis. I can remember sitting in front of a TV that probably was 24 inch and weighed 300 pounds.

Back in the days when the best sprinters used to face each other regularly on the European circuit. Unlike today, where they duck each other outside of the global championships. I remember back in the 90s and early 2000s when guys like Christie, Lewis, Boldon, Bailey, Greene, Fredericks, Collins etc. were all known by sports fans. Won't get that again in the post-Bolt era.

Agree with this. Remember watching it, Jim Rothensal presenting. I remember it being random that it was in Gateshead. I recorded it, watched it a thousand times, a fading Carl Lewis - but a scalp for Christie nonetheless. A great line-up too, some class sprinters. Love Christie’s ‘ever the same’ pre-race prep. He is basically a drug user and a cheat. He was found guilty in 1999/2000 and banned.
