It doesn't make sense in the context of this mission but it's still an example of a choice to do things your own way. The wild dog at the end even as well. If you want a less linear mission you only have to play the two levels before and after this flashback.
What's even more amazing was that this mission was made by one, yes ONE person, who wanted to add this last minute with the approval of a higher up who loved it so much they made sure it was added to the game. Crazy

Arguably the most nostalgic, iconic, and unforgettable mission in the franchise. I love the environment of this mission, it’s one peaceful ass mission, love every feel. Also I gotta point out that 5:10 is legendary to me.

When you take out the sniper after crawling under the convoy don't follow MacMillan into the first floor room, instead, use the broken makeshift stairs up to the point where the sniper was at. There's a room full of guns and stinger missiles. You can take out the helicopter and it will trigger a battle with the whole convoy you just crawled under. Very fun, I do this on my PS3 copy all the time. I don't know anyone else that has done it personally so it's my lil thing

I had to cheese this because they kept walking on thr NPC snd finding him, so before the patrol came into view, i went as far as possible to the right in the bushes, crawled to keep in range, without the radiation stuff. Msybe not a full cheese. But they kept standing on the NPC so i wrnt into the hedges, was only way i could get passed it
Back when playing CoD gave you feeling of real war while fighting side by side with Gaz, Price and others.. That thrill you had even when playing singleplayer for 5th time. Man...

People don’t understand how crazy this mission was when this game came out in 2007. Call of Duty 4 will forever be one of my favorite games ever. You had to be there.

When you take out the sniper after crawling under the convoy don't follow MacMillan into the first floor room, instead, use the broken makeshift stairs up to the point where the sniper was at. There's a room full of guns and stinger missiles. You can take out the helicopter and it will trigger a battle with the whole convoy you just crawled under. Very fun, I do this on my PS3 copy all the time. I don't know anyone else that has done it personally so it's my lil thing

The enemy’s aren’t actually looking for anyone they’re just doing a patrol and it looks like they could be seen because you know where you are and where McMillan is
I had to cheese this because they kept walking on thr NPC snd finding him, so before the patrol came into view, i went as far as possible to the right in the bushes, crawled to keep in range, without the radiation stuff. Msybe not a full cheese. But they kept standing on the NPC so i wrnt into the hedges, was only way i could get passed it
