bro i just got back into cubing for the first time since 2019 and this tutorial is exactly what I needed. Also I got a Gan 356M for 12$cad from aliexpress and it works perfect but I need a lube recommendation.
This has to be the best variation of beginner F2L I've ever seen. I remember when i was learning F2L i found it very difficult to recognize how to set up pairs and align inserts. Utilizing white face to rotate so you're always using an open slot that is where the pair is going is something i never thought of and a very useful and intuitive tool i believe for new cubers! I may even have to have my gf learn from these tutorials instead of myself!
Positioning the pairs: ---- Edge in middle 4:06 ---- Corner in bottom 4:27 ---- Both bottom 4:48 ---- Pieces connected 4:59 White to the side 5:47 ---- Top same color 6:13 ---- Top diff color 7:10 White to the top 8:15
Eating right now as I watch this lol, learned how to solve the cube a few days ago and can do it in less than 2 minutes but trying to aim for less than 1 minute with this method😅
u r right dude! that's what actually is fun to watch "cuz youtuber himself is not hiding anything unlike indians who always hide the important step from audience in every feild tutorial, not just cubing" they don't want their audience to know their tricks, but this dude(cubehead), showed all his brain detailed in the video
@FuryEdits10 no one's doing racism.. if you can't understand the language, don't put your nose into it.. I was appreciating cube head, I never "invited" you for debate or stuff..
That was one of the best F2L tutorials I have ever seen. Cubehead's patience was great. And I love how Cubehead is posting regularly now. I am finally entertained😁😁!
Milan I just learned the entire f2l in just 30 minutes! Your f2l tutorial is awesome. I watched dylan's f2l three times but I was unable to do it I wactched your tutorial once and now I can do the f2l quickly faster than the Beginners two layers. Awsome tutorial. Keep going!
This is probably the best f2l tutorial yet. Even though I already (kinda) know intuitive f2l, I still found this extremely helpful and improved my speed. Thanks!
I showed a friend how to do the yellow daisy to white cross, then going straight to doing white cross. He is still on corners first the beginner's F2L so this video will help him progress with his F2L, I've already sent him the link. He just has the last layer OLL and PLL to work out so I will let him know to keep watching for when you bring them out. This series of videos are very well presented 👍
Been doing CFOP F2L for over a year now and it still isn't much faster (if at all) than my beginner F2L. When I first switched, my time slowed down A LOT. Over time I got a lot faster, but that only closed the gap between the times of each method until they were pretty much the same. It never seemed to get faster. My algs and intuitive solving of slots is fine. My problem lies in LOCATING the pairs, rather than only having to locate a single edge piece for beginner method. Sometimes it takes FOREVER to find a pair. I'll find a corner piece, do a pass on the top layer for the matching edge piece and not see it, do a pass on the middle layer for the missing edge piece and not see it, only to realize the edge piece was actually in the top layer right next to the corner piece all along. Beginner F2L just seems so much faster because it's only locating one piece at a time, it's the same alg (or its mirror) to solve it, AND look-ahead is so much easier. I just have no idea how to further improve these things with CFOP F2L :(
Update: Actually started timing solves with both methods. CFOP around 25% faster (as it should be). However the huge majority of my time loss is still locating F2L pairs. People might be afraid to say it, but I think it's just old less plasticity brain. Well not OLD but older than the million 7-14 year olds with sub 10 times.
i just wanna thank you for your tutorials. unlike some, you actually explain the intuitive element of it and break down how we should be thinking which is so helpful
this was the most INTUITIVE F2L video i've ever seen, i thought i needed to learn a bunch of algs without understanding what i did still sticking to the channel where i learned my first solve ilysm
Note: "advanced" F2L (or just normal F2L, really) is not algorithmic. It's intuitive as well, it's just that it's largely directly setting up cases to pairs and inserts, so it's more efficient.
Thanks cubehead for this series of tutorials. I’ve replayed this F2L one many times whilst practice and it’s definitely helping me move beyond beginner method. The combo of intuitive move explanations with notation, is really useful. This has been a great series, I’ve just added your new OLL and PLL to my queue. 😊
I started my cubing journey by watching your beginnier method then i improved to CFOP method by watching JPerms tutorial but the vid didnt quite clear my concept of f2l so i would do the cross from CFOP method and i would solve first 2 layers by beginner method and do the rest with CFOP method after some time watched JPerms tutorial again but still i couldn't quite learn f2l then i stumbled across ur tutorial and man its really good i learned proper f2l in like 15 minutes not saying JPerms tutorials are bad his tutorials are great i would recommend everyone to watch both yours and his tutorials
Wow dude. Thank you! This is the first video I've seen that actually made this understandable! I'm still slow at it but it feels good to be getting better at.
beginner here (started 4 days ago) who still uses beginners method with a pb of 45.9s f2l is starting to click in after like 10 rewatches of this video thank you cubehead you my goat bro
I was getting really confused about F2L until I found this video The examples of the potential starting positions are greatly appreciated. And pointing out things like, “Where is the white? I have no idea.” is helpful. As is, when to place the corner piece next to or across from the solving piece.
Dude thank you so much for this tutorial. JPerm's tutorial had me scratching my head in a lot of parts and this video just made everything click for me. Thank you!
@Cubehead you are super helpful. I was watching other tutorials for CFOP and could not understand anything. But when I came across this I understood everything. This helped me a lot in my journey as a speed-cuber.
This is the holy grail for a beginner to learn F2L. I finally learnt it from your video after spending quite a few days looking up PDFs and other videos. Thank you so much!
i know im a lil late to this but i have a suggestion for f2l and that is to practice f2l before you move onto anything else because thats gonna put the memory in your mind for f2l and get you faster and better at it hope this helped!
I loved this tutorial. I dont know what it is but his way of explaining it works so well that i after about 20-30 minutes get it, and can kinda remebmer it all with some looking at the video. All in all it is just a great youtuber who has made a great tutorial :)
Wow, cubehead i just learned full f2l within like 30 minutes (obviously im still a bit sloppy at it but that will improve) and im gonna start looking at 2look OLL and PLL now. this tutorial was so easy simple and well-made.. you explained everything so beginner friendly and easy to understand that even little kids can understand it (i have nothing against little kids but you get the point)
Nice video! One thing you failed to mention is when inserting a pair, if the white is on top, when you turn the edge piece out of the way, it doesn’t always go to the right spot. Sometimes I turn it toward me and it works. Sometimes I turn it away from me and it also works. What I figured out is that you look at the color of the edge piece on the top face compared to the color of the corner piece on the front face. If they are the same, the edge piece needs to be rotated away from you. If they are different colors, the edge piece needs to be rotated towards you to insert the pair.
I think that these tutorials will blow off in some years, pacience is key, continue with these because they are actualy useful (i say this as a cuber)!
Thank you so much, you never stop amazing me. You have a superpower that not everyone has, the ability to teach well and be funny and entertaining at the same time. Thank you so much for all the help!
This is so helpful, I always wanted to get into cubing but the one-look for 2x2 was to much, and the F2L pairs were to stressful to learn, I got back into cubing and I fell into the stress of F2L, I found this video and I'm shocked, this whole time I could have been using 4-5 simple steps. Thx for helping me and all the others in the stress of CFOP's algorithms. Keep it up man! 👍
