One of my colleagues pointed out that mostly it's all bots. He showed proof that when you start a match then even if you off wifi the game keeps going on. At the end of the match you can turn on wifi again. Also, you might have noticed that in friendly matches against your friends there is a slowdown or ping problen but this never happens with online matches.
I wish there was a gamemode that would be no powerups allowed
