I just saw the movie yesterday in France and it was overwhelming 😭 I didn't expect that but the movie manages to mix a lot of genres while keeping his "french touch". So go for it, it's emotional, comical at some point, fascinating. It's almost the end of the year but it's definetly on my top list! 🦅
Not at all, just some sequences with "soft body horror". But this international trailer shows a lot compared to the french trailer. The movie is more like a family drama than a classic sf-monster movie. @@Slampty

As french, I m so proud our cinema can touch many countries. Even if the performance of young Paul Kircher is huge, maybe the movie could be dubble with english voices to enter more easily in american people. It's the best movie of 2023, a french blockbuster.
Just watched this at Leeds film festival (uk). I'm not sure exactly how to describe it. The film is an emotional journey in many different ways. I'd highly recommend this film for anyone that enjoyed "the lobster" or "border" as it really does capture so much emotion and joy that's hard to describe. Truly beautiful film, a privilege to of watched it at the cinema ❤
Saw it yesterday and is definitely in my top 3 for this year. It is a beautiful father/son story. It is not an action movie - but lots happen and it is absolutely not boring.
I watched it : it's a very intimate movie about a father/son relationship, and how the son is dealing with his mutations. The more spectacular scene is in the trailer (breaking out of the ambulance) so don't expect tons of stunts and explosions. You'll see a lot of the birdman and a bit of the chameleon ; the other critters (octopus, apes, snake...) are seen a few secs. So don't expect what this movie is not.
@@a.m.studios6126 True, some of the best movies don't have much action but they are much harder to make... Without the money for action scenes, you are condemned to excel at storytelling, acting, dialogue, etc.
Saw this last week at a festival. Didn't expect much, but the story between the father and son is touching. We really enjoy the watch, it was good! Props to all the production.
Looks great. It's like what The Road is to Mad Max, that's what this is to X-Men; that's the vibe I'm getting. More realistic. More about how people would actually be in this situation. Hope it's good and hope it shows up somewhere I can see it.
Yeah, that remake was pretty good in my opinion. However the version from 1977 was pretty damn creepy as well. And even that's a remake of the Island of Lost Souls from 1932.
I wrote a script more than ten years ago with something similar. A genetic mutation affecting only infants. Nearly 50% of newborns would be affected by an intolerance to water and sunlight, but the condition will only show up just after turning 5 years of age with devastating consequences. Exposure would make them sick and tumors would grow all over their body and death would come in a matter of days if not treated., and even so, nearly 80% won't make it to their teens. They called them "the vampires" because of their extremely white skin. They always wear sunglasses, use sunscreen of 100 SPF (Sun Protection Factor), and wear hoodies when walking outside. They are almost always indoors. In my story, there is a mother with two kids, the youngest one with the condition. I show the struggles and the anxiety of the mum caring for his son, and his son wondering why he has the illness, what is the meaning of the mutation, and why him. I wrote it as a plea in favor of nature. Nature will take back what has been stolen from her, even if it means the demise of the human species. Now, I may make it into a short film.
This was such a fantastic movie. The trailer doesn't do it justice. Why darken half the scenes?? The VFX were gorgeous in the film but the trailer makes it look like it takes place mostly at night.

A fictional film, but the story is touching 💔💔, especially the scene of the father and his son searching for the mother while they listen to her best song 😭
The major Australian movie " Animal Kingdom* now a hit US television series, with Darren and Pope, Pope Shot by Darren in the Australian but both alive in the US
I love how people judge and mock the movie without even having seen it. No, it's not Sweet Tooth (I found it better. People are not born with animal traits, these gradually appear), No, it's not X-Men (I'll just say the mutating people loose their minds and identities gradually, so imagine having to see your loved ones loosing themselves until only animal instinct is left).Yes, it's original and Yes, it's actually really good. But if you want to say a movie's not good because it's different from what you're used to, it's fine, there's something for everyone. You're just missing a nice flick 😌😌
So Animorphs the movie finally happens after 30ish years. All kidding aside this looks interesting and it's nice to see movies that aren't just reboots

That's what makes American productions so good: they have enough money to show you a lot of action. This is very low budget X-men.
