YiddishTunaPie No, it was a single that had its own vinyl featuring the Cosmic Gate Remix released in 2008 under BHR, the label that posted this video. This wasn't featured anywhere on that album.
Yo, tight track I dissed mau5 on another vid but he's still got it, any chance of releasing videos with static images so we don't burn bandwidth and can stream at higher quals? thanks
+Hitoshi Channel Not liking an artist because they're mainstream is probably the stupidest reason one could have. So Chopin is bad because his music is popular?
I know anyone can remake a piece of classical music, and that's fine. But this one was already done by Cygnus, and famously remixed by Ferry Corsten. I don't really see how Deadmau5 can claim this as an original track and give it another name. Ref --> ua-cam.com/video/3Rn-HznkIIM/v-deo.html
The title is literally called clockwork as a homage to where the chord progression came from (theme of "The Clockwork Orange"), it has really nothing to do with Cygnus x or Ferry Corsten, they just used the same chord progression the same as deadmau5 did, and they got it from the same place he did (deadmau5's version is more famous that ferry corstens remix anyway so I'm not even sure why you mentioned that) . And either way a chord progression can't be copyrighted. No one 'owns' it like they can own a melody or a song. You can go home yourself if you want and lift this chord progression from here, and if you make it sound different to this song and their songs, you can put it out for sale and its completely legit. He's not just taking a track, renaming it, and claiming it as an original, it really is an original track which has almost no similarity to the original Clockwork Orange theme except that they share the same chord progression (which no one can own anyway), and to top it all off the chord progression is literally the circle of fifths circling around, its basically a musical meme at this point and to claim someone can own it would be ludicrous. It's like claiming someone owns the I-V-vi-IV or the I - IV-V and then all pop musicians and jazz musicians started suing each other claiming they all stole each others songs.
Memories, man... One of the first deadmau5 tracks I bought and religiously listened to.
Just discovered. Favorite
