Yes, dating a Gambian, most likely they will be Muslim. Some of them will be like Ebrim & tell his lady, you be you, I will be Me. However, some Muslims will enforce their religion on their partner. As Raesha said, an understanding has to be made before having a relationship with somebody from another religion !!!
As for family, there was a time back in the day where Grand Ma, Aunties, Cousins etc in the African Amer community lived next door or near by but, Job Opportunities, scattered the families in the U.S. because family members move to where the jobs are !!!
