Putting 120W lights on your Himalayan will result in a total draw of about 255W for the entire bike (headlight, EFI/ECU, fuel pump, tail light, instrument panel, ABS). This is equal to the alternator's total output at about 3000 RPM. If you drop below that level, you will slowly drain the battery. At idle the bike only produces 220W. Of course, if you put other devices on your bike (e.g. phone charge, GPS, FuelX, heated grips, etc.) you will draw down the battery even at higher RPM.
For those of you using heated grips, they draw between 20-30W for the pair. The stock headlight draws about 60W and LED replacements run between 40 and 110W.
Bro how to get this calculation for other two wheelers which are not main stream in discussion.
The power is mainly drawn from fuel while the bike is running. What's your point?
@@warxombie5417 that is not how it really works. All electrical power is drawn from the battery and the stator or alternator draws energy from the fuel to replace the energy drawn from the battery. However, it is possible to draw more power from the battery than the stator is able to replace and this will ultimately result in a dead battery.
Rule of thumb and per the indian law for fellow rider mates.
1. Never install aux/spot lights above or at the headlight level.
2.Total draw of both the lights should be =< headlight
3. Place black filters in states like bangalore
Looks superb bro. Will it work with the mad dog harness pro direct plug and play without cutting any wires?
Bhai kaisa electrician hai bataya nahi kya ignition se line dene ko
Bro suitable for r15??...any issue with rectifier or battery?
@@Prateek_Rathee2102 you may install it. Buy wire harness kit with it. Harness kit has relay cutter so it won't harm battery.
@@timetraveller.30 relay wont harm battery??...Go get some info brother
@V-xr6so where did you said to use fuse?...incomplete info yields aparently false claims
Which headlight are you using???
Headlights are the original given by royal enfield halogen 50 watt bulb.

Can i use mad dog wires or any other, or do i need to use the same brand? Plz reply ma fast i am waiting for your reply to
Buy it as i have a ride very soon though i have mad dog installed planning one more
Bro has it got fans in it?
Doesn't need one.. It has heat sinks. Gets cooled when bike in movement. Using it since a year 10 months
What government norms are you talking about? Are these norms documented anywhere?
The watt of auxillary lights should not exceed use main headlight. It should be placed below headlights, and should not be used in city. These are the norms
Where is the comparison
Bhai...up ko kuch nahi patha..
And also one thing, connect the fog lamp switch with ignition, then the light will only turn on when your bike is starting
Yes I will. Thank you
@@timetraveller.30bro did you try this suggestion? Did it work when connected via switch without any issues?
@@CasualBiker yes it's working good 👍🏻
