  • Rogue Trip was ultimately Singletrac's last vehicular combat game under that studio name. But was it the send off we all hoped it would be? And could this finally be the car combat game that could top Twisted Metal 2? Check out the video for the full review!

    Rogue Trip is one of my favorite games back in the day. I wasn't any good at the game but man I loved it. My favorite character was the gas mask guy.

      I remember you can blow up the earth in Area51, Trick is you have to upgrade one of the bombs and place it in a half space ship then you transport to the moon and you sit back to watch it expolded.

    This was SingleTrac's final car combat game, but the actual development team behind the name would make Twisted Metal: Small Brawl

      I always wanted to check it out since I somehow missed out on that one back in the day. Didn't realize it was the V8 folks. I've also got Bloodwake and (God help me) WWE Crush Hour sitting on a shelf over here waiting for a turn.

    A true hidden gem of the PS1 era and, pound for pound, one of if not the best car combat games out there. Colorful, fast paced, weird as @#&% but knows how bonkers it is and revels in it, like the misbegotten lovechild of Death Race 2000 and the Way Out Wacky Racers.
    Definitely deserved better and it's a crime there's been no revisit or remastered re-release for our favorite professional party crashers.

      Twisted Metal 2 had shitty car physics in comparison. This game has amazing controls due to the weighty cars.

  • @BeaverBotics2
    @BeaverBotics2 4 роки тому +4

    Definitely my favorite Car Combat Game on the PS1, especially due to the amazing controls, which to me is the most important thing I look for in a game. I love the over the top and stupid plot it has, the gimmick is great, and the vehicles are just so much fun. Sure the game could have used a bit more in the story department, and the characters could have been given some extra personality, but everything is just so much fun, that I can let it slide. This is tied with Twisted Metal: Black and Twisted Metal 2012 as my all time favorite car combat game.

    One day I was bored and decided to mess around with Cheat Engine. I tried to make Big Daddy playable in all maps but failed miserably. Although in the game files I found a car/character called "Cycle Babe" who looks like a smaller version of Vermin's car.
    I like how this game's intro (If not the game itself as well) literally parodies some natural disasters like air pollution, contamination etc.
    Thank you so much for this review, Rogue Trip is truly an underrated game. It was my first PS game ever. To this day it's still my number 1 childhood game.

  • @TruFalco

    Sony should look at licensing out some of SingleTrac's games and remaking or making a complete sequel of some of their games. A new Jet Moto or Rogue Trip would be cool. Or even Streak. Odd little racer.
    I still remember exploring the maps with the UFO guy and finding all the secrets on the maps. Some were really hard to find. I still remember when I left the skybox on Nuke York, blew my 9 year old mind. Also the weapon upgrades were INSANE.
    Or are they infogrames? GT interactive?

    I played this game SO MUCH as a kid. I was probably around 13 when Rogue Trip came out which is the perfect age for it, especially in the 90's. I still hear those Ska songs in my head to this day. I really hope Sony is able to put it on their new service. I can't find anything about who owns the rights to it now. They could be lost to time since the developer went out of business so long ago.
