Hi Hatty, I'm a Year 11 dude doing his GCSEs rn. Your videos are great, thank you so much for making them as I would not have been considering Cambridge otherwise. I am hoping to do History at Cambridge but was wondering about GCSE grades required for Cambridge. Do you know what sort of GCSE grades you need to get to do History at Cambridge, or does it not matter too much?
Hi Rafi, thanks so much for your lovely comment! It's so wonderful that you're thinking about Cambridge right now (and might I just say, you've made a great choice of subject!!) and the GCSE question is a good one There's no requirement of GCSEs to get into Cambridge - I once edited an article written by someone who only got 2 GCSEs and still got to Cambridge - but the better you do the better it looks - when it comes to Cambridge applications, every little helps! Also, the application people are likely to look at your predicted grades for A level and if you didn't do so well on your GCSEs these are likely to be lower Basically, your GCSEs aren't the be-all-and-end-all but they do matter, so don't get horrendously stressed, but do revise I hope this is helpful! Good luck!!
Might be worth setting out your criteria for judging crests to begin with. Isn't the St. Edmund's crest similar to the Queens' one? I really enjoyed watching this and tried to work out what your reasons were for liking or not liking a crest. Perhaps you could 'improve' each crest in the light of your comments and suggest your alternatives as a string of 10/10s?
Who needs a criteria? We just kinda said what we thought! The St Edmunds one is kinda like the Queens' one in that it's busy, but it's different because it's way more messy and unbalanced in my opinion, while the Queens' one may have a lot going on, but the patterns are fairly regular and it doesn't have random things chopped in half or covering things up, and it's got a bit more symmetry to it
@@hattywillmoth this needs to be done again. Overall poor scholarship. I recommend an extra supervision to weed out some of the unscientific comments made. Queens clearly is the most busiest crest yet you call other objectively less complex crests busy. You also praise the symbolism in Queens crest yet fail to acknowledge the same in any of the other crests. You don't even look up any of the attributes. Also Queens violates some heraldic rules on colour arrangement (see Wikipedia et al.) Discuss this in your next attempt. Talk to your DoS. Ask for an extension and submit another video by the end of term.
I hate that people judge which college people go to as if it makes them any better, we're all getting the same education on the same course at the same university, it just comes across as "snooty"
Next video: Drawing all the crests from memory 😂
And redesigning your least favourites 😂
@@laurenschofield5309 Nooooooooooo hahaha we'd fail soo badly haha
@@hattywillmoth but that’s why you HAVE to do it 😂😂
gaaaargh hahahaaa
Can't believe my beautiful King's college crest got lower than Kentucky McJesus's crest over here 😔
listen, Jesus's crest is great and I'm standing by that
the cockerels are a *vibe* and no one can convince me otherwise
There wasn't a comment and I wanted to read a comment so here's a comment

How can the Catz crest be considered the best? It depicts a method of torture...
