I know a lot of people are saying this drama is unrealistic in the way it portrays overseas Pakistanis, and I agree with that somewhat. But the cousins trying to get with you for a visa is so real lol. I think it's also real that the American girl wants to talk everything out openly and resolve the issue whereas Pakistani people tend to hide their feelings, stay angry at each other in silence and let issues persist. Love the way Dawood protects Kim.

I wouldn't agree with the portrayal of Maya Ali as girl raised in America. I have seen so many of my first cousins born and raised in US, Canada and Europe. I was raised overseas, and now my own daughter has been born and raised in Australia. They are honest and speak their mind, but that doesn't mean they are as rude, as she has been portrayed. Neither are they so unversed with how to show respect to elders, as she behaves with her aunts.
Going out without informing anyone, especially when she is totally unfamiliar with the place, and shown so obsessed with the idea of people being untrustworthy or being so full of Islamophobia. You don't trust strangers just like that, as overseas raised kids are taught at school to be wary of strangers " stranger danger" the term kids here use.
I feel so much is out of place, that it takes the viewing pleasure out of the drama whenever Maya Ali comes on screen. The director needs to done his homework better, to be more authentic in the portrayal of this character on screen. Bilal Ashraf , Manzoor Qureshi , Tazeen Hussein fit into their roles hand in glove. But, other characters leave a lot to be desired to give a well knit effect into the story.
A lot of people find the pace slow, but that doesn't bother me, as such a story would unfold slowly. But, characterisation needs improvement. That's my personal opinion, and it's not necessary, people would agree with it. And I am fine with that

I love Kim's character. Everyone calls her 'spoiled', no one sees that she is pure hearted. She obviously follows what has been taught to her, how can she be ill-mannered, it is normal for her to call names because no one else taught her Pakistani values. She understands how bad it is to 'back bite' unlike other characters who are shown to have 'values' yet constantly judge others

Never have a single child disrespected anyone or had wanted to marry a non Muslim. everyone always have looked for a Muslim and honest guys. Its so sad that lot of people think being bold, western clothes are prove of being independent. And I am not sure where you live. I live in apartment lot of angrez near me. All of them are extremely respectful. This is what happen when people forget about islam. They forget that we have to return to Allah. Alhamdulillah my family have given great importance toward islam. I will make sure when I get married, I do the same. May guide us All.
@@afeefakram9824 I am from the UK. In the west, it's normal for people to wear short clothes, support LGBT, have sex before marriage and live with partners. Kim didn't wear short clothes or live or have sex with George. In one of the earlier episodes Dawood asks her this question and she responds that her mum explained to her what her limits were when she was alive. I'm a Muslim who interacts with males and wears bold western clothes. I'm also part of the LGBT community. Yet I speak fluent Urdu. That doesn't mean I like the culture, but yes, UNLIKE Kim, I do know about the culture difference. When I went to Pakistan long term my relatives thought of me the same way Kim's relatives thought of her. So it's my personal story aswell yunhi
