1 of my fav cars BUT the rear end is way too weak and if you slightly hit a curb while sideways the whole rear drivetrain comes loose and second the driveshaft is made out of glass I haven’t had a driveshaft brake so often on any other vehicle

when you love a game and see its beginnings now and cry a little. I love this game so much and have over 500 hours of game-play it makes me cry, To see its humble beginnings.
Even if this is based off of a GM car from the late 70’s, it still has more character than most of the newer cars made today. The 5 mph bumpers on cars from the 70’s would definitely obliterate bumpers on most newer cars made today.
After all of these years, the Moonhawk is still my favorite officially released car in beamng. Unless they add a Hearse, I don't think any car will replace it as my favorite.
I love this game and this new car. Although I think the issue that needs addressing next is the dynamic steering; some of the cars (including this new Moonhawk) are very difficult to drive quickly because of the slow steering response. I know you are working on this, but i just can't wait to drive these cars to their full potential :D Keep up the amazing work guys!!!!
I would not be suprised, if (I say in 10 years) every game had this engine for collision and graphic, great job BeamNG team keep up the good work, i cant wait for next updates and as soon as it's released im first in line to get this
Boy does this thing need a remaster. The D series and Roamer got remastered, The grand marshal started the remaster train, the H series got one, so did the ‘96 pessima. The bolide got one, the covet recently got remastered, the Legran got one, as well as the pigeon, and a K series remaster is in the works (as of commenting this). So why not the moonhawk?!?
Hey, I love the work that you guys do, but I had a question. Do you guys account for the fact that 1970's metal quality and alloys were different from modern day? The stress they could handle and their weight was pretty drastically different. Beyond that, earlier cars tended not to have "crumple zones" and had very solid front ends. This led to the cars being overall much stronger, at a cost of the lives of the drivers.
Haha all these people asking for it to be on mac. No just no. Macs are multimedia computers for movie and audio editing not high end rigs able to process such physics at a high speed. If you want this game. Get a PC not a Mac. You better realise this sooner or later.
If you go to the Ctrl+E option menu theres a dropdown menu with all the cars. Alternatively you can add cars through the Ctrl+O World Editor menu and and TAB cycle through them once they are place into the world.
I'm glad to see that this seems more planted to the ground/heavier. The truck is too bouncy. I hope you improve the performance of some of the other maps.
My guess would be that it'd be in the late development of the game, assuming that they do it at all as mac owners probably wouldn't be a big market for intensive games like this.
It's not likely that this game will ever come out for Mac. It was built on CryEngine 3, the same engine that the Far Cry and Crysis series were built on; and it solely uses DirectX to power it's graphics (only Windows users can use DirectX).
I want to see a game where this physics engine isn't the unique selling point, so we can see how this will blend with other games (Example: FPS, 1 v 1 fighter, flight simulator, SimCity-type game, etc)
Looks awesome ! But I played the tech demo, but I've never reached to destroy my car like in the video ! Maybe the engine is influenced by the setup we use to play the game ?
This car has gone 10 years without an official remaster now.
And it probably won't need one for another decade. They really did well with this car.
It needs a 1968 version
@Samspot_ no it needs one

We plan a complete overhaul of all the sounds and the sound system. All the sounds are just placeholders right now.
This was true lol
Oh boy did you deliver. I could listen to cars like the Bolide forever.

Looks great nice to see another detailed car for the game :)

I know right!
hi
Yeah, I can’t wait to see it in the next update.
This is not a game anymore, It's a way of life.
Pēteris Sedlenieks you got that right
Right on man, right on
What would it be when career mode gets here?
And you just said that 7 years ago...
You still alive bro?

glad im not the only one who comes back to these videos.. c':
I love this game. I am overly obsessed with it, because I have a total amount of hours being 972 hours atm.
I just passed the 1500 hour mark
I got a little over 1000 hour mark, been here since the beginning
Just started in December and already am way past 500
This was considered the most hardware intensive vehicle back in the day.
look at this game now
I can barely run it at 25 fps

Yes, we account for that. We try to build the cars as authentically as possible.

I wish the moonhawk had a four door and a wagon veriant too.
Thank you beamng for everithing!!
Well actually, this is my favorite car!
Hello.
definitely needs a remaster
Seven years later, it causes nostalgia and joy that the game has become much better
ahh, the good old days. the game is obviously so much better now but it was nice back then how simple everything was
man, I heard of beamng in 2015 and the 2013 one is really nice

8 years later still no major remaster
But the car as it is is still amazing

Yes they do, at least now you can tell. The modern Bruckell cars deform a bit less than the older cars

Is it just me, or does the Moonhawk kinda feel like a forgotten vehicle nowadays? It's definitely a BeamNG classic, at least.

I paid because I support this quite a bit. Since the days of Driver i've always wanted a game with realistic crash effects... and i've got it.
Please make a tuning game, using this cars and this realism... its perfect.
this and the barstow need a remaster, maybe a remake even.
I would really love to see some type of tank or APC in this game with the physics :D
