GRIMP GRIMP GRIMP... Thanks for the update, stay safe, and let's stay focused, and have a solid rescue plan always. The work you do, does matter. And, you are helping raise the safety bar big time. Thank you, Jim H.
@@theropeaccessandclimbingpo2380 I'm going to Vegas next Sunday for my level one SPRAT, and IRATA course. I'm taking both so I can work wherever I want. It just made sense to me. For 500.00$ more, you can have both certifications. Why pay 1,700.00$ twice? 6 days of training, is six days, period. Plus, I love to practice rescue. I really love going over the plan, multiple times. You can not have too much rescue training, that's my way of planning. Jim H.
@@theropeaccessandclimbingpo2380 Altuis. They have a class at least each month. Have you seen any of the IRATA training videos from Independent Ropes channel? This guy is really awesome, I've watched all his videos several times, as well as lots of other channels showing all the levels. Jim H.
Found your channel over the holidays and it has been very helpful. I've been interested in RA for a while now, but there is little need for it in the CA entertainment rigging market so it's always been more of a slow burn learning process. I am planning on building a personal kit this year, if only to practice and learn the gear, and would love to hear your take on some gear reviews and differences between brands. I'd also be interested in a rope deep dive, where you talk about pros/cons to different styles/brands of rope and materials. I'm also aiming for stunt rigging this year if you have any insight that may apply, though the most crossover I've seen is making 3:1 systems. Otherwise, keep up the great work and I'll keep sharing your channel with my coworkers. 👍
Hey Terran, Thank you for your support. Ya, I do plan on doing some more comparisons this year. They are fun. Best of luck in your industry. It does seem to still be a bit old fashioned, but it will come around. Cheers Mikey
Hi, is there a vid about fall arrest devices? I'm still using Petzl Shunt and I want to upgrade but I want to avoid ASAP and other toothed and expensive devices. Something like Beal Birdie for example but free sliding on the rope. If climbers can use it for top rope soloing it's good enough for me. I want a list of acceptable gear to choose from but I cant find it on climbing channels
Hi Mikey! Thanks a lot for your videos! Very best wishes for you in 2020! Could you help me figure out one thing. Should someone who would like to become and assessor be : 1)An Irata lvl 3 for 6 years minimum with and instructor at the moment he or she is applying (like 6 years of experience as L3 and to the moment of the application and already an instructor, but no necessary for 6 years) 2)An Irata lvlv 3/i for 6 years minimum at the moment he or she is applying (like all this 6 years as l3/i) Hope you would understand my English. Thanks!
Great question, I think I understand what you are asking here. So, I would say you should be actually instructing courses on your own, have your “i” and the minimum 6 years prior to applying. Now, keep in mind. In my experience they only run courses in locations the feel they need more assessors and you will also require one or two letters from other assessors referring you. Please note this has only been my experience with the it. Im sure other people have had different experiences. Cheers
Thanks for the shout out. Look forward to your 2022
Thank!
Right back at ya!
