You are consulted by Paula who is recently divorced. She has been awarded a handsome maintenance order by the divorce court and her ex-husband has to pay her an amount of R12 000,00 per month for her own maintenance until she dies or remarries as well as an amount of R36 000,00 per month for their 3 minor children and their school fees at an exclusive private school which adds up to R120 000,00 per year. She is worried about the tax implication of these. Explain to your client which of these amounts will be subject to income tax and provide relevant legal references for your answer.can i please get help
the amounts will be included in her gross income but since the amounts are a result of court order issued due to divorce therefore the amounts are classified as alimony nd therefore fully exempt.
A. The uniform will be exempted as it is a condition of employment and it is clearly distinguishable from ordinary clothing

C. The taxpayer local dividends will be fully exempted
this is amazing, are you able to share the note with international students?
B. Sara qualifies for exemption as her remuneration proxy is R600000 but she only qualifies for R60000.
Its not exempt as there must have an agreement that in case she fails she will have to repay the amount unless its due to death or injury
