Fitting Fiamma CaravanStore XL to Awning Rail

  • Watch me as two women boss me around whilst I attempt to put the Fiamma Caravanstore XL canopy onto the caravan awning rail.
Not really a “how to”, more a realistic view on putting the canopy on the awning rail.
We like to take the canopy on short breaks when we know the weather will be fine. We don’t use it in the winter months as we’d use the full awning generally. However you do have to take the canopy off the awning rail to allow the awning to go on.
This isn’t the easiest of tasks as you have to unravel the canopy for you to be able to remove or indeed put on the canopy.
Hope this is of help as manufacturers tend to just show you how to unravel it and not put it in the awning rail...

We use one of these, and find it very good. We put silicone on the awning rail which helps glide enormously.

Andy had to clean our awning at the weekend after we opened it whilst at Hawes c&m site last weekend and found it was filthy dirty from last years holidays. We used the bike wipes and they worked a treat on most of it ( industrial wipes) Nice to see your daughter helping her old dad out there !! 🤣🤣🤣 Nice one all... Michelle and Andy 👍🚐🙌

We leave our Caravanstore on the caravan all year round as we have included it in our payload. In Winter we move it to the offside so that we can use an awning instead. Some silicon spray in the awning rail will definitely help it to run much more easily and if you give the zip on the bag a spray that helps the zips to run smoothly. We find that you need to make sure the canopy is rolled as high into the bag as possible so that the zip is not pulled tight when you try to zip up that makes it easier to close the zip too

Hi Graham hope your well, weve subscribed to your channel and enjoying most of them, just watched this one with yourself, daughter and Mandy putting your awning back in the rail you definitely struggled but then again your not 21 anymore so i have a helpful tip for you,buy a Dog lead and clip it on that lets you stay on the ground and is so much easier to pull the awning through the rail ,we use this all the time with our awning and is a god send, and take up much room in the caravan, got more tips for you as weve learnt a few over the last 38 years of caravanning and weve had a few disasters too, like last month went away without the step but found a big concrete building block which was a good substitute, bye now , Robert Walker

I bought one of these canopy’s last year and used it once at Bank Holiday and decided to purchase the Privacy Room to fit it. Bad move. We couldn’t get it to fit. The rafters were about 5 cms too long. I contacted the manufacturer and was told it was because I had a Bailey Caravan (Pegasus Brindisi). It took me 3 months and the threat of legal action plus contacting the credit card company to activate Section 72 before I got the £700 it cost to buy the privacy room back. They still don’t advise on any of their websites that it’s not suitable for Baileys.

@@boxers999 the rafters are the metal “poles” that go on either one of the awning that hold the side panels in place. They come in two pieces each which slot together and then are supposed to clip into place and clamp onto the roof part of the awning.
