heheh, the reclining/rotating device, and the "DANGER" sign were both referenes to The Incredible Hulk TV series, @4:07 - 4:12 : That was from an episode of "The Courtship of Eddie's father" TV Series. Bill Bixby played the father. He also played "David" Bruce Banner in "The Incredible Hulk" TV series. (Keep an eye for a hulking security guard that can olny be Lou Ferrigno).
So, the reason it was Edward Norton for this film but Mark Ruffalo for all future appearances is that Hulk films were still owned by Universal Pictures. And Marvel Studios wanted to cast Mark Ruffalo, but Universal thought that since their other movie was starring Robert Downey Jr., who wasn't considered a good bet at the time, so Universal told Marvel they'll only make the film if there's an A-List star as the Hulk. So they picked Edward Norton, and promised him full creative control, but then Universal locked him out of any post production, and Norton got upset and deliberately tanked any marketing he was supposed to do for this film, and so he got fired, and Marvel Studios got to hire their first choice for future films.
The lead guy in charge of all that drama is named Isaac Perlmutter, and once Marvel realized this and all the other issues he was causing, they (not meaning Disney beause this was before Disney owned Marvel) moved Kevin Feige to a higher position than Ike's and by the time Ike was done at Marvel he was lucky to be a figurehead. Just a little more added info to go along with yours for the people who don't know.
Edward Norton will always be the Hulk and Bruce Banner for me Liv Tyler and Edward Norton chemistry was ❤ Liv Tyler would just talk about how "Edward is such a great guy, he's sweet and wonderful, we've met on social events a couple of times and how she was just grateful to work with him."
Fun Fact: Edward Norton actually did the motion capture for the hulk so BTS he painted his whole face green with dots to capture him, just like the transformation scene was pure perfection.
They changed edward Norton for Mark ruffalo because he was a nightmare to work with on this film he rewrote the script under marvel noses and refused to promote the film which led to the film underperforming at the box office
Fun Fact: This movie marks the 4th time that Edward Norton played a character with DID (Dissociative Identity Disorder) Primal Fear Fight Club The Score (2001)
1. Blonski was not "trying to know what he was getting into" he just wanted to know if Bruce had fighting spirit, as fighting is all he cares about. This was foreshadowing. 2. Fun fact about the Hulk personality, this wasn't explored in any of the movies, but Hulk was a result of childhood trauma. A split identity meant to mentally shield him from the abuse his father put him through, and the death of his mother. It's actually a real shame you'd never see this side to Hulk in the films. 3. The cast change is basically just corporate drama and actor contract conflicts.
The reason why Bruce Banner isn’t in control unlike Emil is because Bruce and The Hulk are split personality. It’s more touched in in the comics but Bruce is diagnosed with DID. Dissociative identity Disorder Also the clap scene, how it works is that Hulk slams his hands together so hard he creates a shockwave, that’s how strong he is, it’s a signature move in the comics
Norton was always the better hulk, hopefully he returns in avengers secret wars since its gonna be a multiverse avengers movie... And Andrew Garfield and tobey will be back as spider man as well
The upper limit of the Hulk's strength isn't defined but is in excess of 100 tons. In the comics he held up part of a mountain and in the MCU... you'll see
That limit is also just what the characters can lift casually with no strain or discomfort. For Hulk that's 100 tons, for spider-man it's 25 tons. However both can greatly exceed that.
@Littlecarneg20 abomination us stronger then BASE hulk but abomination doesn't have the ability to get stronger the madder he gets that's why hulk always beats the shit out of him
For me Edward Norton was more suitable for Bruce Banner. It's a shame he couldn't continue. This movie is the best Hulk movie, way better than the Hulk movie starred by Eric Bana.
Ed Norton is a better Bruce Banner than Ruffalo. Norton was an artist/actor (an actor who is very opinionated about his role, and how the role would act) thus he was viewed as difficult, and not retained. I don't know how they would have done Nortons face on the hulk like they did with Ruffalo. The CGI hulk looks good with Ruffalos face.
When the Hulk was first introduced he was actually grey with i think brown pants but during that time it was blending with the paper color so Stan decided to use green and randomly chose purple for the pants.
Let it be said that "The Hulk's" ability to keep his junk covered is one of the larger "suspension of disbelief" requirements in the comics and the MCU.
In the comic books, the hulk was rated in the 100 ton capacity, meaning he could lift over 100 tons. As a comparison, Spiderman was rated in the 10 ton capacity.
@EvilQK ,hey Kassidy-were thinking that Ed Norton's character was cosplaying as Elliot from E.T. with that red hoodie outfit to fool the soldiers after him,ha?.
@@ricardoortiz4870 Wrong way round. Marvel wanted Ruffalo, but Universal told them they needed a more famous actor if they wanted the movie to be made. Marvel didn't like that idea because they knew they wanted to make The Avengers, but they didn't want one actor to overshadow the others, so they wanted all of them played by great but not A-List famous celebrities so that the viewers wouldn't expect one actor to be the main character of the movie. Lucky for Marvel, Universal promised Norton full creative control, but after the success of Iron Man, Universal took that control away and did everything they could to make the film feel more like that one.
This one was way better than 2003 and it was not boring. Alot of people don't know the true origin of the Hulk and his power. Hollywood and MCU watered the Hulk down. The clap is one of the Hulks powers in the comics.

It's amazing how much people don't know about the Hulk
This is the real Hulk a rage machine not a joke mcu Hulk that we have right now
Did you know Edward Norton wanted the film to be more story built like the 2003 version instead of more action pack.
i really wish marvel would make a alternate timeline for edward nortons hulk

Interesting, this sounds way more plausible than what I've heard. Source?
Edward did amazing job who cares Mark wasn't in this film.
Marvel made a mistake replacing Norton

Lou Ferrigno played the Hulk on the TV show.

16:26 Lou Ferrigno!!!!
Hulk's thunderclap worked on the same principle as blowing out a candle, just on a bigger scale
The design of Hulk's body was done by the original actor from the TV show Lou Forringo which was the security guard he gave the pizza to.

The best live action Hulk we’ve EVER gotten. Sad how they’ve massacred my boy🤦♂️
Daniel Stern became the villain The Leader when he got exposed to gamma radiation...not like in the movie.
If you can, I suggest you watch The Consultant. It is a short 5 to 10 minutes. It adds a lot to the after credit scene
Nice pick on Betty's heritage! Most people who don't already know only figure it out when she screams "Dad!" at the college. Well done, girls!

Abomination is actually stronger than the Hulk and that's what makes them rivals.
Abomination is not stronger than the hulk😂😂😂. He’s only having a slight edge over him until hulk gets a bit more angrier.

The three people Banner and Hulk need to deal with are General Ross, Abomination and Red Hulk who is General Ross transformed, also, The Leader.

Mr Blue is supposed to be the blue hulk whenever the blood dripped on his head
Wtf was this reaction, this ain't it.
You needed to watch the first Hulk movie that came out in 2003 in which Eric Bana played the Hulk for this one to make more sense.
Kgf nice movie
Mark ruffalo replaced ed because of his ego and being hard to work with during this films production
I heard Ruffalo was supposed to be the lead character in this film but Marvel wanted Norton because he was more famous at the time.
