- Johnny Flynn performs Brown Trout Blues & Been Listening live at the Luminaire, Kilburn on Sunday 6 March 2011.
Johnny's headline Transgressive show was part of the venue's 'Wake Week'. Sadly, this wonderful venue officially closed its doors in December, and is a great loss to the London live music scene. Wake Week, which ran from 2-7 March, was one last chance to say farewell to the 'Lumi' and see it off in style! Other artists taking part in Wake Week included Dry The River, The Fence Collective, Peggy Sue and The Mariner's Children.
Brown Trout Blues can be found on Johnny's debut album, A Larum (Transgressive). Been Listening is the title track of Johnny's second album (Transgressive).
Update 2021: Johnny has been busy with his acting career in recent years, having appeared in the popular Emma (alongside Anya Taylor-Joy), the somewhat controversial Bowie biopic Stardust and most recently The Dig (alongside Carey Mulligan and Ralph Fiennes) about the Sutton Hoo excavations. The latter is on Netflix now and well worth a watch! Trailer here:
• THE DIG starring Carey...
Every performance (even of the oldest and best-known songs) is a listening adventure because he's never the same.
