3:50 - OK, right at the start, I'm happy to see this mall has chosen to retain its old school character and charm. Don't change anything just keep everything in an excellent state of repair and upkeep that's all. Eventually, all this will look futuristic again. Right at the start, I much prefer this mall over the other two mega malls I've checked out so far. Bravo. My Best. Out.
@@TourFromHomeTV : Hi My Dear. Thank You and My Pleasure. I'm from Canada actually, and malls here, seem to be on the decline, in both Canada and the U.S. actually, closing down everywhere. They are currently, renovating the mall in my town, which compared to the malls in Manila is laughable really, as you could fit our mall into any of your mega malls a hundred times over, and are trying to "modernize" it in the process, but at the same time, they have utterly, and completely, ripped every last bet of old school, character and charm from that place, altogether. Now it's a white, pathetic, shadow of the space it once was, and this seems to be a trend throughout much of the world now a days, and I hate it with a bitter, burning, passion. We have two malls in my town, broom closets compared to your malls, but at one time they featured fountains and greenery all throughout and was loaded with a richness of texture and colour and were so, so, much better places to be in than the malls are now. I mean, it's not about the shopping alone, which counts but the overall, experience, overall. Problem now a days is that everyone has their eyes so damn, glued to their smartphones to notice anything going on around them anyway. I checked out the other two, more modern, mega malls in Manila, and I have to say that I much, much, prefer this one overall, for many, many, different reasons. The other two were way too, cold and uninviting while this one still, breams with old school, character and charm. But if I owned that place, I'd actually, add more colour than there is there now, plus fountains and as much greenery as I could include there, wherever I could include it, if it were me. Bringing as much of the outdoors, indoors, as you can in other words. Making it an environment where people will WANT, to be in and will flock to even, more often. Who the heck, wants to spend any amount of time in the white, sterile, snowbanks that most public places have become now a days. No one, that's who. Honestly, design concepts have gone completely to the dogs in the past couple of decades or so and I so, so, hope this changes around again, soon. And yes, you are correct, cities can't have too many green spaces. They are tranquil and invigorating plus help us realize the importance of nature in general. Warmest Wishes from Canada. Be Well. Be Safe. Out.
Its been quite a year since I visited SMNE. Andaming nagbago, lalo na andaming tenants na nagsara dulot ng pandemic. 😕 I really like your way of vlogging. No talk, no BGM.
This is so fun to watch... It's like I experienced walking in sm again even if it's virtually, it has been a year since I went to sm and I rlly miss it :c There's so much changes. Hopefully this pandemic will be over soon so I can go there again! Let's all just keep on praying because there is nothing impossible in God! Keep Safe Always Everyone!
amazing tour! it made the annex feel more welcoming since its was hard for me to go inside annex because of its dark history (incidents are stated on their wikipedia)
9:00 - SM THE BLOCK 13:30 - SM Center Main Mall Some not be careless too and lack one add new tower mall near beside the block next bridge are biggest too I really was 3x times so are beautiful very bigger too
12:06 - Actually, this mall could incorporate a little more colour into it as well, plus more greenery everywhere also, but this is a huge, huge, improvement on the other two from the aesthetics point of view. Not everyone is into the bland, all white, look of today, but it's sad that those of us who are not into that dead, drab, bland, boring, look get completely, overlooked and our taste not catered to, at all. Between the three Mega Malls in Manila, if I were living in this city myself, THIS, would be the one I would hang out at and do most of my shopping at, and would be ignoring the other two, altogether. Please don't turn this mall into a carbon copy of the other two, simply to cater to the kids. 13:40 - Here, nice example of what I'm talking about. Love the ceiling and floors here. Love the variety of colour here. A little greenery would make this space close to perfect. Why rip all this out and turn everything white and as bland and boring as all hell. Correct? Modern design concepts are NOT, an improvement, at all, what-so-ever. 14:30 - Now this space is so much more warm and inviting than the hallways in the other two malls, particularly with the nice music playing in the background. Again, the richness and ambiance here, is unmistakable. The Mall Environment should mimic the outside as much as possible, in order to have the optimal, pleasant, enjoyable, shopping experience within these places. People seemed to understand this throughout the 70s and 80s but have completely, forgotten this today. This is why I appreciate the malls in Thailand so much, as they still, seem to understand this. Seems to me that the Philippines could easily, do the same. 15:46 - Here you see, this is more the way a mall SHOULD, look. All that's missing here, is a fountain or two and trees going up through, but otherwise, so, so, much nicer than the other two, newer, more modern malls. 25:25 - Wild. I mean, this is outstanding. Why would anyone in their right mind want to change this and turn it all metallic and white. Right? Seriously. Thanks. My Best. Out.
Good observations! Yes we need malls with more greenery! It’s just more pleasing to the eyes. I wish the Philippines has more parks though and not just malls.
