    Beautiful Work, thanks for sharing.
    Last week a nice young man approached me at hobby lobby and asked if you could complete a model kit in a week. I was taken back but ended up answering "yeah, you could I guess" lol
    I didn't want to scare him away from getting into the hobby but obviously taking time to thoughtfully prepare and do everything top notch is going to take much longer.

      Thanks for the comment. I think you gave that young man a totally appropriate answer. While this model did take years, I've built nice models in a week some even in less than 24hrs. How long does it take to build a model will be one of my future topics. Stay tuned!

    Awesome build Tim. Nice research you did. It amazed me how many of these parts I have in my parts boxes that I inherited from my buddy's estate. He must have had a similar idea. I think the only things I don't have are the wheels, the headlight lenses, and a few engine parts.

      @@timkustom I kind of over detail sometimes… they turn out great but no matter what I always mess up when putting the glass in it never fails… smudges fogging… and once you do that, no matter how cool the model looks, you’re done

    Morning Tim, Chris here.......awesome build!!!!!!!! I came across this video because I wanted to see the build process a second time as I watched it before. I have a question......The piece that comes out of the driver's side door to the steering box......can you tell me where they came from? I assume the steering box is in the kit but the piece that is attached to the door seems to be a Replicas & Miniatures piece. If it is, I did not notice it in the video for any aftermarket pieces used. I have a build in mind and I need to replicate that piece and set up. Any info on the parts is appreciated. I also will be getting the finned brakes from Norm as well for my build. I thank you kindly as always Tim.

    • @timkustom
      @timkustom  3 місяці тому +1

      The steering arm that comes out of the cowl is actually the steering arm in the kit that goes to that steering box. I don't think I used the kits steering box since it mounts to the frame. It probably came from a sprint car since that is the design. Look up "Franklin steering box". Good luck with your build!

  • @FishEyedPaintWorx
    @FishEyedPaintWorx Рік тому +1

    Great build Tim! When you say a 10" kick up is that 1/25 scale converted into 10.16mm? And is that the total length of that kick up piece or did you add the height of the frame to that? Sorry, new to scratch building and trying to figure out how all these dimensions are made.

    • @timkustom
      @timkustom  Рік тому +1

      The kick up piece is about 10mm. The rear crossmember for the buggy spring drops it back down a little. Before deciding the kick up, I placed the axle/spring/crossmember where I wanted it in relation to the body, then "filled in the blank" to decide the frame kick up. HTH, and thanks for watching!

    Great! are there 1:12 scale kits for the same?

    • @timkustom
      @timkustom  Рік тому

      Unsure of a 1/12 scale. There is a 1/16 scale body from Minicraft. You would be on your own for the rest.

    Tim, Chris again…….. one last question…….. the gas cap, if not scratch made, who makes it & where did you get it? Thanks again!!!

    • @timkustom
      @timkustom  3 місяці тому +1

      The gas cap is a parts box item. I have a pretty deep parts collection, but I believe it to be from an AMT '64 Riviera. Too bad they didn't keep it when it got updated to the common '65.
