PowerPoint 3D Model Animation Tutorial - Photo Walk-out Trick
Вставка
- Опубліковано 12 чер 2024
- Make your 3D models walk (or fly!) out of the frame! The anniversary of the lunar landing this year gave me the idea to play around with this animated astronaut 3D model and develop this trick. Hope you enjoy!
Please note that unfortunately the Remix3D website that I mention here (and where I got the model) will be discontinued in January of 2020, so make sure to download any models (including animated ones!) you want by then.

You have such a creative mind. It takes a lot of imagination to come up with ideas like these. I liked the way you explained everything clearly and patiently. Please keep up the good work! Ramgopal
Thanks so much, Ramgopal - massive fan here of you as well :). You are incredible in how much you've brought to the PowerPoint space and inspired creativity of so many around the world. Appreciate the comment!
This is incredible! You keep blowing us away with effects we never would have thought possible in PowerPoint! Thanks for continuing to inspire us.
Thank you!! Absolutely - so many creative possibilities with PowerPoint, and new cool features are added all the time. Will continue to hunt for the spicy tricks :). Appreciate the comment!
Very nice.

Thank you, Merci!
This is dope! Now I know what 3D in Microsoft Office is for.
I enjoy your PowerPoint 3D Model Animation.
I learned a lot and became a fan of you. I hope you have a good lecture. In Daegu, Korea,
Thanks so much, 차용대 ! Appreciate the comment, and so glad you've learned from my tutorials. I'm sure your presentations really stand out!
It’s amazing to see what we can learn from each other! UA-cam is a great place for learners!
One of the more mind-blowing technique demos shared at Presentation Summit 2019 in San Antonio. Not often you attend a session with seasoned pros, and hear an audible gasp when a new treatment is shared! That was fun! Looking for ways to work this in to our deliverables now. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks so much, Dane! So great to hear from audience members who enjoyed. Really appreciate the shoutout!
This really is so nice....
Thanks, Mankirat! So glad you liked it.
good job. very strong imagination ability!
Thanks, Bell Sunny - so glad you liked it! Yes I like to get inspiration from different places to come up with new ideas. :)

You’re welcome. I am SUBSCRIBED. You are my PPT Guru! LoL
LoL - super, thanks!!
Hi there. first of all let me say that you tutorials are superb !! I have the office 2019 and there are 3d models but no sences. its not going be anymore ?
Danke schön 👍
Bitte 😊
I enjoy everything you make. Do you have anymore augmented reality in powerpoint.
Thanks!! Do you mean beyond the AR tutorial I posted today? If so, I don’t currently (other than my older Aurasma / HP Reveal tutorial) - but definitely exploring EyeJack and Artivive as alternatives so those are in the pipeline for (eventual) tutorials as well.
You make it look so easy to design it! Thank you for sharing your tip. How are you using it in a professional environment? Do you have any examples?
Thank you! Haha it actually took a LOT of trial and error to design (playing with different frames, etc.) - but I try to keep the tutorials simpler so I'm not rambling about all the twists and turns along the way. As for a business use case, although this shows a cool concept, for the average person (w/o 3D model design skills, like me!), it's still quite challenging to use 3D models in a business setting (though would be amazing in an academic one!). The main limitation is just easily accessible 3D models that can be quickly imported into PowerPoint. Remix3D.com has about 50 there now - but MIcrosoft is now taking it down in January, so we'll have to find something else. However, if we start getting used to thinking about tricks like this with 3D, then we'll be well ahead of the game once 3D models are more widely used. I think Augmented REality / phone scanning of objects into 3D will greatly accelerate this. Hope that helps, and great question!
This is Super Cool! 👏 Unfortunately, I just found you. What are you using now that Remix 3D is gone?
I just use the stock animated 3D models within PowerPoint!
Beautiful ideas...can you do something with furniture...I'm an interior designer
Great video!
Just upgraded to Office 2019 and was wondering if the 3D models at remix3D.com can all be downloaded (to an external hard drive for example?) If you know.
If they take down the website, where will we get the models?
Great question! I am super bummed that they're shutting down the site. You can currently download any model you want until January 10, 2020. There is also someone who created a program to scrub a lot of (or all) models automatically (I haven't tried yet): twitter.com/lancewmccarthy/status/1150916171853697026?s=20 . As for where we'll get models after it shuts down, that's a question I'm asking my newsletter folks as well, as I currently don't know any sites that have models that are EASILY inserted into PowerPoint. Google POly has some, but you have to put the models together in Paint 3D first before you import to PowerPoint. Turbosquid and Sketchfab are others, though I haven't had great luck with either so far. Will keep you posted!
Guides me towards success.

Thanks - glad you enjoyed, star line music!
now that Remix 3D has been gone for around seven and a half months at my time of writing this, where is the best place to get high-quality free animated 3D models? Sketchfab is too slow on any device I use, even my fastest gaming PC, and has also broken the part of its search algorithm that used to only surface free models when the "Downloadable" filter was clicked; and Google Poly has nothing I want.
Really cool... But you told, you will make a video on how to make these 3D model effects without latest version of PowerPoint or with no PowerPoint. Please make that video, waiting for it. Thanks!!
Hi Sridhar - yes I was going to make it but now it’s on hold because Microsoft has discontinued its remix3d website, so I don’t know what the future of 3D is for them. That said, the video I was going to make was focused on the 3D viewer app - it’s a free tool that can be downloaded from the Microsoft store and you can view 3D models there (including animated ones) without the latest version of PowerPoint- so you can check that out without waiting for the tutorial :).
Ma'am, is 3D Model Animation available in PowerPoint 2021?
How can I tell which versions of PowerPoint your tutorials will work in? Thank you.
If you have PowerPoint 365, that's ideal, as everything will work. This particular one does require 365, but more simple tutorials (that just use the basic animations) do not.
I will love if you teach me how to do fireworks ? More realistic way love your channel and your videos
Hi Gabino - I actually have a fireworks tutorial - hope it’s realistic enough :). ua-cam.com/video/bYtVPJDcAcc/v-deo.html
This is really awesome 👍 How do I get the "Scene" option for 3D models? I have an Office 365 Personal account and have just updated to Version 1909 (Build 12001.20000) Office Insider.
Great! Glad you have the latest version - and even the Insider build. You just click on the 3D model and then the 3D model tab on the top, then the scenes should be on the top left. Hope that works! (Definitely should, as this does not need the insider build.) Also, make sure you have the version of the astronaut (or other 3D model) that has animation - some of the MIcrosoft models have it built in, and others don't.
@@powerpointspice Thank you so much for you quick reply 👌 I downloaded the animated astronaut, clicked on the 3D model but the scenes option don't show up on the top left or any other place. I have a similar issue with the Sketchy frames you explained some weeks ago - I don't have that option either. I made a Feedback in PowerPoint on July 17 but haven't got an answer to that. I guess I just have to be patient (big yawn)
Oh my gosh - how annoying! Sorry to hear. You aren’t on a Mac, are you? I think the animations weren’t supported on a Mac as of January but not sure about now.
@@powerpointspice Yeah it really sucks! No, I'm not on a Mac.
@@smartphonevideography Wow, bizarre! It is so strange - I just checked, and mine no longer has Sketchy Shapes either actually - looks like they play around with features for insiders and add/remove as they're testing, but the animated models have been around since October, so that one should be rolled out to everyone who'll be getting it by now, I'd think. I guess worst case, you could send them feedback as well using the little smiley icons within PPT - they actually do check that and respond. In the meantime, I'll be on the lookout for similar issues from others and will let you know if I hear of any other solution. :)
Anyone willing to share the 3D Model Animations (Dinosaur and Astronaut) you have downloaded? I only come to know of this 3D Model Animations today.
You can get these models from Microsoft by going to insert -> 3D models.
@@powerpointspice does this mean that if I subscribe to Microsoft 365 now, I'll be able to get the Walking Dinosaur (All Animated Models option)
that you showed in the other video
If your country offers a free trial of it, I’d get the free trial first to make sure. Animated models are supposed to be available everywhere but I still get occasional messages saying people don’t have this option for some reason.
When the object is growing, it becomes blur. Is there any solution for that?
Unfortunately this is an issue with the grow animation that I’ve spoken to Microsoft about but they are not prioritizing to fix currently. You could have your model start off large and offscreen then use the shrink animation to decrease the size (hide this transition) then use the grow animation again. It won’t be blurry because it started off large to begin with. That’s what I did with my dinosaur video (3D models part 2)
@@powerpointspice Thanks for the reply, I will try that
