I remember my grand dad on my dad's side had a trench club that was my great uncle's. it was made from a table leg wrapped with barbed wire and had pointed wood screws threw it. the creepy part is there was a little bit of red stains in the wood grain. although we never talked about the red we all knew what it was.
Well good news. It probably isn’t what you think it is. As blood oxidizes it turns from red too maroon, and after a great amount of time it turns brown….so the red “stuff” on your granddads makeshift ww1 weapon is most assuredly and 100% not blood. I promise
YEAH…! I live in TX; THIS happened when I was driving btwn Huntsville & Houston; there was a red truck in front of me; at that time, I was driving a small import; ANYWAY, THIS truck started following me…VERY CLOSELY…which scared me. I grabbed my cell phone, raised it to take a photo of his listened plate…THIS driver quick look y drove away…! THANK GOD the cell phone’sCAMERA was all I needed…. 😮😐😐👣👠
I didn't know trench club meant improvised zombie apocalypse weapon. That looks like something I'd come up with after watching Zombieland then heading out to the shed.
@@infidel202 There's an retired US infantryman quoted in the Ken Burns documentary about the Vietnam War, where he talks about how "Humans didn't get to the top of the food chain because we're 'nice.' "
Its literally designed to beat the enemy to death 2 feet from your eyes. Imagine what it did to the person who used it. That person would walk around with the memory of hearing a 17 year old boy scream no and you beat him to death. Thats war!!

What brutal beasts we are. The men who where responsible for this conflict should not be hung for their crimes but beaten to death with weapons like this. Imagine what this did to the boys who used it on others. 😢
@@zeekgeek420 these where used in trench combat during the first world war. There were no nazis. The war was started when archduke Ferdinand was assassinated by anarchist. What does that have to do with British and French farm boys beating german farm boys to death in the trenches or the reverse. The men responsible for these conflicts are rarely the men actually dying in them.
Everybody pray for world peace whether you believe in God or not. We need a change in the hearts of the men who rule over us. It cant hurt anything if we pray.

Jesus, your Great Granduncle was Negan! But on a serious note R.I.P to you Great Granduncle.
Probably strawberry jelly? Raspberry? You’re not saying what I think it was, are you? Marinara sauce?! On a trench club? 😵

Barb wire actually acts as a cushion for a bat or a baton. You wrap it on there so that they hit from the back doesn’t hurt as much.

My grandfather always said that the best weapon an infantry soldier had was a sharp shovel. He fought in the Boer War and first three years of WW1.
Damn! That thing looks like it could do some nasty damage
Short handled shovels with saw teeth filed into them were used.
i have one of those lol
This would be great to keep behind the driver's seat.
With museum brochures..your lawyer will love you for it.
Bwahahahaha

Love a good melee weapon
Your a girl
The war memorial in Canberra Australia has a collection of trench clubs
I’ve seen some French trench knives hammered out of what looks to be railway ties it was brutal combat
Railway track spikes, perhaps. Railway ties are a great, bloody chunk of timber.
They usually the wire posts the germans used to hang barbed wire. Granted, people made m sorts of stuff.
Beat on the Brat. Ramones. First thing that came to my mind. You rock JD. Keep up the great work.
THANKS for this info…& history…👍🏼👣👠
WWI was more brutal kinetic warfare than WWII imho
That's a War Mace, clubs are blunt, and "semi non lethal"‼️Once you add the murderous part on the end its a Mace😳
I didnty realize the title said club not mace 😂😭
Dam that club there do some damage! Be brutal to take a blow to skull with them sprockets😢😢😢!!
Its literally designed to beat the enemy to death 2 feet from your eyes. Imagine what it did to the person who used it. That person would walk around with the memory of hearing a 17 year old boy scream no and you beat him to death. Thats war!!
Now that’s something I like to have, you might never know if I need something like it.
WOW! Brutal!!!!
Brass knuckles with a 6-ish inch blade were also quite nasty.
My friend i know what your getting at. I actually have an original, the LFC 1918 trench dagger spiked brass knuckles and a 6 inch dagger blade.
'French nails' worked just fine.
Now that's a shank😬
Nice club you’ve got there. It’d be a shame if I didn’t see it.
Ouch! War is hell and hate.
It was a modernized medieval mace
Monstrous looking thing
A nasty piece of kit.
Gears of War... I'll let myself out
That'll make anyone go into the forever shleep upon colliding with their cranium
Awesome
That is a Kraut skull crusher if I ever saw one..
That thing is brutal
Man that thing would leave a mark!
Wow!
Bayonet looks a bit less dangerous now 😮
Wicked
I absolutely love it!!!!
Nasty weapon from a really nasty war.
Wow
Horrific!

War shank
WWI aas called the "war to end all wars." Unfortunately that didn't happen.
Seeing that warms my heart.
@Dav serban Or your head, stomach. Anywhere. Very nasty weapon.
So its a medieval mace made of modern parts
That warrants a hearty DAD GUM!
Did do.
It's a French coghead club
Had to be a mechanic.

Sprockets not gearrs
You can't imagine what damage it could do? You would bash someones head in with it and poke them in the chest. Lol how can you not imagine it
chest or eye.
Yikes
The ingenuity shown here 😳😳😳😳 shame it was for brutal means 🥺🥺🥺🥺☹️☹️☹️
