Hi Nick, Thanks for sharing useful tips. What strobe do you use for your food photography?
thank you bro
Hi Nick, love your videos. I remember you mentioning about 18% gray card in one of your videos, don't remember which one. Is there a card size and brand you recommend? Thank you.
Such a great video. On point. crisp. no explaining unnecessary shit. *Subscribed*
Is there a diffuser you’d reccomend and do you just use 2 standard light stands for it
Straight to the point! Thanks. BTW whats the strobe you are using in the video? Thanks again
Hi Nick!
Great video, your way of explaining is very good and cool. New sub!
greetings from Argentina
Hasta pronto!
Thanks for joining along, happy to have you here. Let me know if you have any questions!
Nick, did you use two lights for this shoot because I can see another light on the top left hand corner at 0.19?
👍
Thank you for your tips!!! Buying a flash this week, so that's was super helpful. Does the size of a diffuser matter? What is the size of the one that you use in the video?
@@NickAndersonCreative I have a gigantic one 220x150 cm that I used to diffuse light from my window. Yup, my window is huge. Will see how it works. Thank you!
Hey, Nick. Awesome video. What flash should you recomend for food photography. I already own two Godox V1 flashes, shall I use them or shall I go for strobe lights? I will be doing food and product photography. Thanks! ❤
I would try using the V1's first and see how that works out. Just diffuse them. You could even use them both at the same time for product photography. Just set one to be your key light (more power) and another one to be for your fill light (less power)
hi, the amazon link cannot be properly linked to the products. May I know which lens used in shooting the food in this video?
We typically shoot food with top down continuous lighting. Do you do that or are you always from the side? Trying not to get much shadows
Almost always from the side or the back. I rarely do top down unless it’s drink photography
Hi the links in your descrition don't work! Would love to know what flash and studio continuous lights you use. Thanks!
@@NickAndersonCreative thank you! Would love if you did a hard light tutorial. I found a few and even paid a few but they’re just not giving me the info. It’s like they’re omitting that one part that gives hard light food photography that *chefs kiss* factor. Love your stuff! Also love that you’re from Milwaukee! I was madison based and now I’m in Chicago
How do you use a backlight and not pick up a sheen on the surface of the table? It doesn't seem to work at all with purchased table top vinyls
You just have to mess around with the angle of your light source or choose a surface that’s a matte finish!
Vinyl is a tough surface. You’re going to get a lot of light bounce and reflection
When doing flash photography on food different dishes, will they be dark or light affect the camera settings. How do you fix this with flash Photography? How do you set your camera for the right exposure and white balance when doing food/Photography?
Hi there! I always set my white balance on my camera to match my flash which is usually 5600K. And for the exposure it depends on the scene but I'll adjust my aperture, ISO to determine proper exposure!
Nick, what you do in your speedlight to avoid ambient light interfering in the photo?
With the speedlight off and ambient lights on, I set my shutter speed high enough so that I no longer see ambient light (or a black screen), then I turn my strobe on and it illuminates my scene perfectly.
depending on how bright the ambient light is, it's best to shut those off. but if you can't shut ambient lights off, then you might have to do a high speed shutter sync with your strobe. On Godox strobes, it's pretty easy
Which strobe are you using here?

Did you use cpl filter?
And you look more handsome with moustache and beard.
Sorry but this is so vague. The photos you took using the setup in the video looks nothing like other photos that being displayed. Specially in terms of even and soft light.
But good work man.
What are you talking about? Why would I lie about the only setup I use for my food photos. This is literally the EXACT setup I use for ALL of my food photos.
@@NickAndersonCreative I am not saying you lying brother! God forbid. I am just giving you my feedback. I know you put 100% efforts and honesty in the video. I just don’t see the results matching. Sorry if I worded this in the wrong way. Looking forward to see more videos
@@khaleel_as thanks for the clarification. Head over to my tiktok, I have a bunch of real life examples I show you and it’s more recent work. @jebbwest
