This is an amazing video even 3 yrs later. My daughter is completing her BS at 19, she's worried it will be a hindering instead of a leg up after all her hard work.
1) I often hear about how many KJD candidates make up each entering class, but haven’t heard about the percentage in each applicant pool. I’m curious to know because that might provide some data on whether (all things being equal) it is a benefit, a hindrance, or neutral. Can you please comment on whether there is a difference in the percentages of these two groups? 2) Have you ever considered getting an admissions dog? If not, why not? And if you already have one, why haven’t we had the chance to meet him or her?
We don’t track this consistently, but in the years that we have, the percentage in the overall pool is very similar to the percentage we admit, which in turn is very similar to the percentage we enroll. It varies in different years, of course, but as I recall, the numbers are within a percentage point or two.
Hi Dean Z, I am a Fall 2021 JD applicant planning on doing the “K thru JD” track. However, I’m a chemical engineer and in my summers I spent time doing engineering related internships and never worked or volunteered in a law office. Do I need this experience to truly be confident on my decision to go straight through? Thanks!
Thanks for doing these! I have a video idea: timing of when decisions are released, or "waves" as they are called on the internet. What goes into deciding if decisions are released in waves (i.e., none on most days and a lot on other days) vs just releasing one at a time as you make the decision? Are you only reading applications/deciding on certain days? Are there other factors that go into this?
Honestly-this has a lot to do with COVID! In a normal year, I make some small amount of offers three or four days a week; now, I can only go into the office to sign letters once a week, so I do them in a chunk.
You are obviously entirely accurate however you fail to emphasize the financial commitment which ends with incredible amounts of debt. I can tell you from experience very few students consider the cost benefit analysis.
