- This time last year I bought God Eater Resurrection. I played it on-and-off a little bit before dropping the game entirely. Now, after picking the game back up, clocking roughly 72 hours into the game, watching the final credits roll, and spending several more hours gathering footage and putting this video together, I'm ready to give my thoughts and opinions on it. Food Wars...Soma's obsession with making that food. The MC is named Soma...Akira reminds me so much of GE Soma. I swear the author of Food Wars took some notes from God Eater.
1:40 Ah yes the bullet editor. Even after many years after Gods Eater Burst and already in God Eater 3 I still have no idea of using it. You don't need to know to use it but you need to know how to use it if you want to deal max damage with guns. It can be very op.
I thank youtube for that. But I still don't get how it works in game. 😅

29:23 - *THANK YOU!!!* Even though the Corrosive Hannibal is just a reskin of the new flagship, the context surrounding its last battle makes all the difference, especially since it's stronger, faster and your battlefield is nothing more than a tiny cathedral with nowhere to run to. But it all fits. After all, it's as the protagonist said: _"Don't run away from living."_
It also has my favorite boss fight in the series and it fights like a hybrid between a fire-breathing dragon, a master swordsman and a martial artist. It felt like I was fighting the perfect God Eater that seamlessly shifts its phases like we do. Makes sense considering, in a way, this thing _is_ Lindow.
To this day, no Aragami has ever usurped Corrosive Hannibal as my favorite.
I think the NPC allies mostly ignore Ren because in the lore they can't see him. Kind of like how Alisa doesn't actually do anything in battle until after your character becomes her therapist.
Also, while this isn't necessarily a critique of the video, Melee Crushing and Piercing are actually different damage types from Gun Crushing and Piercing and while an aragami might be weak to gun Crushing, they might be resistant to melee crushing as an example and vice versa.
Ren is Lindows weapon. The only reason you see him is because you touched his weapon to save others and not got eaten.
@@SuksassTo be precise, the Resonance. Every Aragami-like being in existence can become sentient if they spend enough time inside a human host. Ren is the manifestation of Lindow's God Arc only seen by the protagonist after a mix of dumbassery and genius on their end. This happens again in 3, but this time with Ein's inner Aragami feeling so sorry for him that it wants to put him out of his misery for the decades of suffering he went through.
Ein, by the way, is just Soma under a different name.
Fun fact: I gave my character nickname Nova without even knowing thats the thing in game
Hannibal was actually the most satisfying to fight for me
And one of the biggest disappointments for me. Fierce Kongou can take more beating than him. Yellow monkey is stronger than a dragon...
@@dima_keller that's only the case bc fierce kongou has a hard ass skin, once u break any of those bonds and focus on them, you're good to go
@@sethsilvermoon4223 idk about that, breaking monkey's bonds takes ages while Hannibal's sometimes break too fast
For me dyaus pita is the hardest and most satisfying to beat .. it took me hours to beat that shit but satisfying 😅

I find it funny how she's not in GE3 and the friendly fire left with her.
The Aragami sticking like glue part is so fucking relatable, in most cases I just bite the bullet and try to take care of both at the same time but it is horrendous, Jesus.
Yeah I thought Shotgun was really bad too but someone from multiplayer gave me an op bullet in God Eater 2 for the shotgun and I've been using it forever. You can also use its skill to catch fleeing aragami. It takes me 3 or more seconds faster to catch the aragami compared to my other teammates.
Had no Clue that This Remaster of God Eater Also has gameplay updates and equipment from God Eater 2! 😮
I think GE Burst was the only PSP game I ever 100% completed for the single player stuff. I was 12 or something, and I don’t think I can ever go through that again lol… those triple Prithvi Mata missions…. Yeesh. Never again…
This is an excellent review from a clearly underrated channel, and while it may be four years old I'm just now playing through these games myself and stumbled on your channel, so belatedly good job on this. ^^
Minor nitpick but I disagree with calling God Eater Post-Apocalyptic. The apocalypse is *ongoing* and keeps getting worse, therefore it is simply Apocalyptic, without the "post-."
I also understand why you'd call Ren's speech patterns "robotic" or unnatural, but I have to say as an Autistic individual, I identify with that kind of stilted dialogue a great deal and am always a little peeved when people call that sort of thing "unnatural." It is actually quite natural for a certain segment of the population and not deserving of ridicule, but you would be correct to call it *atypical* at any rate. Obviously Ren (and Shio for that matter) are not *intended* by the writers as Autistic allegory, but I definitely interpreted them that way and take no small degree of comfort from that interpretation.
Kanon's friendly fire certainly is annoying, agreed. I found her to be a pretty sympathetic character though because I can relate to the struggle of feeling like you're giving something your all only to come up short and "do it wrong" compared to others. I brought her along as often as I could because of that, even if I occasionally regretted it (though since friendly fire does no damage, it's only a minor inconvenience really). I feel like she could really use an update to new-type, maybe she'd find out she's great with a sword and was just using the wrong weapon the whole time! Then again I haven't finished GE2 yet so for all I know that does happen.
You do a great job breaking things down and your commentary is interesting to listen to, idk if you're still making videos but keep it up if so! For all its flaws, I'm obsessed with this series now and will take all the content about it I can get, so I'll definitely be giving your channel a closer look now. ^^
I wrongly read this as "and while I may be four years old" and it was a treat
from what I know old type god eaters can't really "upgrade" to new types. the explanation is unclear , maybe because you cannot rewrite an existing bias factor with another one because it would wreak havoc inside the body. so once a god eater candidate recieves the bias factor they are forever stuck with that bias factor and the god arc you are given with along the way. from what we see in the game ,new type are the only one to transform their weapons because the bias factor that's been given them and the weapon along with it allows that to happen. you can't give a new type god arc to an old type god eater because the bias factor will reject it.

Yo! Fuck that Blitz Hannibal that bitch was fast and one shoting me for no reason. The first time I encountered it and was playing with a friend luckily. I was like what the fuck is this because I didn't expect him to move that crazy fast lol XD. Good thing is at the end of the day I was able to defeat it some help. But man fuck that Aragmai XD.
Just bought the game bundle on steam for around $7, just finished this ressurection total hours around 46 hrs. Honestly I don't even use the command and just fight thru it even with multiple monster by using shortsword and just dodging. I did that until difficult 12 where you need to kill "Venus" thats where I discover I could just cheese the game using assault gun, I crafted the shortsword for gunner build the one with no damage and to cheese the whole story I made soma learn damage cut and hate so he would be the target of the enemy always and I could just shoot my gun and only go dash in to devour op (the white air devour) and just dash out and shot again over and over thats why I completed the ressurection arc fast no retries.

Took 81 hours to complete all achievements
The game itself is fun, until you suddenly fight against Blitz Hannibal.
Skill issue
i like buster blades , and blast guns
i agree the shotguns are ... they're not bad surely but imo it's better to just smash or slash them with my melee weapon than shooting at them pointblank
I think shotguns would be good if they did either more damage that way you're bursting them down in exchange for being so vulnerable or at the very least make the shotgun buckshot stagger more frequently (maybe up the op cost to make it balanced?) Idk. I still enjoy them but I agree they're not as impactful as other weapons. I like running autoguns just so i spam fire at an enemy and quickly swap when necessary
dunno why but the scene where our character spoke just seem so cringe or so like, too exaggerated? anyways~ the thing where you fight thr phantom hannibal with lindow is rrally cool,(not pertaining to when ren got pierced)
Having now played all three games and looking back, that final Hannibal mission is still one of the best GE moments ever imo.
@@weaponsci yea, i was one of the first to drop this game, having cleared the "burst" where skill is the fundamental foundation for clearing dirt such as a damn 4 chimera solo mission, hahhhh the memories of agony and anguish is making me tearful. anyways~ good for you man! due to lack of specs i didn't even manage to properly play GE2RB though it was quite easy it still is sad i had to drop it again due to specs problem again.
Probably because the voice acting in critical moments in God Eater Ressurection was crapper than the original.

The voice acting sounds a lot cooler especially for the protagonist and Lindow. I also personally think some of the line changes weren't necessary. The original script was already pretty good, at least for this cutscene. There were some script changes that were okay though.
Wait it doesn't have japanese dub?
The short blade is actually decent. If you have them at decent rank, they can make quick work on most Aragami, even a Vajra.
But personally, I'd also stick with long blade.
